At this point, we may as well be shown screenshots and gifs of what could have been. I'm curious to see more of what decision so many of us were left out of. We were never given a real choice, and our voices remain unheard on this matter.

It is disappointing. :drink:

The power of "sameness" is a drug for many people. Change is hard for the majority. I find that introducing change to a system or process is often despised. I am greeted with disdain and even hatred, for even mentioning the possibility that something needs to change.

With everyone working from home, I simply suggested that the companies seriously need to go to 2 factor authentication to properly secure the network. The phone calls and meetings I had to go through were nothing short of a gauntlet of abuse. You'd have thought I asked people to cut off their fingers.

Change is hard. 11 years of "same" would make change very hard for most of Yo. I'm glad you guys are good with changing the game. I was excited to see it if they stayed on that path. But I also know that Yo would have lost 1000s of paying customers if they did it. And they may still yet lose them. They could spend all this money trying to get there, and it might be a destination that many may not like. We'll see..........

Absolutely.

I guess they reverted back to trying to convert the game to HTML5 again because they concluded that it was not only much easier, but also much cheaper (outsourcing price included for both engines.) As I wrote before, converting to Unity is very expensive, it necessitates the developer to get a Unity license which is in the thousands of US dollars. That much money could be used to pay the HTML5 conversion company and no license will be needed.

thanks hun i love how you explain things... it's spot on for numpties like me to get what's going on :haha:  :trophy:

I'm fine with the look of the game, it's what makes yo, yo. It's the functionality that needs a major overhaul. Andrew said they are working on fixing things such as layering which was really good to hear. I do hope they are planning on overhauling things like the AH, something that was promised a couple of years ago and then like so many things asked for were put on the back burner. If we can't have yoworld.com back then I hope that they'll upgrade the game enough to have a lot of the features that site
had such as being able to click on something and have it give us the name and if it's still in the game or not and a much easier way to scroll through things like our homes and inventory versus the clunky way it is done now. Also hopefully they'll fix things that have been broken for a long time.

that ^^^^ :star: :trophy: :star:

HTML5 is designed to run in any browser and run the browser itself. It is the language of web pages.

Thank you so much for listening and trying to preserve our beloved game as close as possible. Maybe somewhere down the line you could use all you learned with Unity to create a new game - maybe YoUniverse. I would sign up for that for sure.

It looks like after years of no major updates, questions are starting to pile up.

When will YoWorld be running on its own platform?
When will the map be updated?
When will we no longer need Facebook to log in?
When will the user interface be updated?
When will the game be modernized?
When will we see graphics updates?

The crazy part is, these are all huge updates that BVG has not yet begun working on yet. Well they did start working on some of them, but we've backtracked on that.

And what a Merry Christmas this will be!!!

How does that song go? "I'll be home for Christmas...." Thank you for going this route! In the end it will make many people very very happy. I did test everything and would have accepted the unity if that was the only answer but to me this makes much more sense. Yo is Yo because it is Yo.

Indeed. I barely spend time in-game though. Nothing interesting enough to grab me. That's why I was so excited about this Unity update.

I don't know how I've missed this thread!

Thank you, Andrew, for helping to address this for us.

I'm a little disappointed that the Unity map isn't going to be implemented, but at the same time I'm grateful that the avatars aren't changing quite as much as the examples that we were given. Honestly, if you could have made some closer avatars for us I'd have been all in on the Unity platform.

That said, I'm okay either way as this is a great game.

1. I echo others' question: is this going to remain on Facebook? If it isn't, what will our options be?
2. If removed from Facebook, what security measures can you promise given that has been how most of us initiate a login? I'm a bit concerned with that, because I bet it would be easy for someone to try and claim my or someone else's account. Technically, we're not using a username or password to really log in to Yo, we're clicking on our app on Facebook.
3. If this does remove from Facebook, can we get a 90 day notice? That sounds like a lot, but I would likely need to purchase another computer or a tablet in order to achieve this and still play Yo. Computers are one of the things that are back logged right now and it takes a while to get one ordered, produced and delivered.
4. You mention layering: please include both furniture layering but also Avatar layering. I would especially like the option to choose which layers are towards the bottom and front of the avatar.

I look forward to seeing how this all transfers. Thank you again Andrew.

Unity had LAYERING?

I was just referring to the layering note Andrew had mentioned. It sounds like we've all asked for that. I had some bad wording, sorry for that!

I don't know if the interior furniture had any layering capabilities even on our testing.

Oh okay. Nevermind. I'm back to being just disappointed again. :D

Though, I do wish I had seen what the map looked like on Unity.

Agree, Anthony. Loved the new map!

My only request to them was to create some quick links so we didn't have to walk all over it to reach a certain point on the map. The downtown area was super cool, so I thought at least.

Now that Unity isn't happening- is the NDA on talking about the features on our play testing still active? :eh:

**clears throat** Sorry to be the person to ask that question...

There was a downtown area? Why had BVG not shared any screenshots of this?

Thank you for the update, I hope the transition for YoWorld & BVG is smooth and speedily, with little or no complications. It will be fun to start the new year 2021' hopefully fully running.

Two Questions:
1) Will you create a larger room for meeting other avatars, some type of interactive large beach with an interactive water slide, Starbucks or YoBucks coffee meeting place?

2) Will YoWorld be a app that will be in the App store to download like other games?

3) Will YoWorld be available to operate without Adobe Flash for the Iphone Mobil, Ipad devices?

Thank you,
for having this forum open for discussion & questions.
