It is disappointing.

Absolutely.
I guess they reverted back to trying to convert the game to HTML5 again because they concluded that it was not only much easier, but also much cheaper (outsourcing price included for both engines.) As I wrote before, converting to Unity is very expensive, it necessitates the developer to get a Unity license which is in the thousands of US dollars. That much money could be used to pay the HTML5 conversion company and no license will be needed.
thanks hun i love how you explain things... it's spot on for numpties like me to get what's going on![]()

I'm fine with the look of the game, it's what makes yo, yo. It's the functionality that needs a major overhaul. Andrew said they are working on fixing things such as layering which was really good to hear. I do hope they are planning on overhauling things like the AH, something that was promised a couple of years ago and then like so many things asked for were put on the back burner. If we can't have yoworld.com back then I hope that they'll upgrade the game enough to have a lot of the features that site
had such as being able to click on something and have it give us the name and if it's still in the game or not and a much easier way to scroll through things like our homes and inventory versus the clunky way it is done now. Also hopefully they'll fix things that have been broken for a long time.

Does this mean the HTLM5 will work on laptops, tablets, PCS and different browsers when it comes out???

Anthony SpaceTime (102235402) wrote:It looks like after years of no major updates, questions are starting to pile up.
When will YoWorld be running on its own platform?
When will the map be updated?
When will we no longer need Facebook to log in?
When will the user interface be updated?
When will the game be modernized?
When will we see graphics updates?
The crazy part is, these are all huge updates that BVG has not yet begun working on yet. Well they did start working on some of them, but we've backtracked on that.

Thank you, Andrew, for helping to address this for us.
I'm a little disappointed that the Unity map and layering isn't going to be implemented, but at the same time I'm grateful that the avatars aren't changing quite as much as the examples that we were given. Honestly, if you could have made some closer avatars for us I'd have been all in on the Unity platform.
That said, I'm okay either way as this is a great game.
1. I echo others' question: is this going to remain on Facebook? If it isn't, what will our options be?
2. If removed from Facebook, what security measures can you promise given that has been how most of us initiate a login? I'm a bit concerned with that, because I bet it would be easy for someone to try and claim my or someone else's account. Technically, we're not using a username or password to really log in to Yo, we're clicking on our app on Facebook.
3. If this does remove from Facebook, can we get a 90 day notice? That sounds like a lot, but I would likely need to purchase another computer or a tablet in order to achieve this and still play Yo. Computers are one of the things that are back logged right now and it takes a while to get one ordered, produced and delivered.
I look forward to seeing how this all transfers. Thank you again Andrew.
Unity had LAYERING?
Okay. Before I was disappointed. Now I'm unhappy.

Isla (2518852) wrote:Agree, Anthony. Loved the new map!
My only request to them was to create some quick links so we didn't have to walk all over it to reach a certain point on the map. The downtown area was super cool, so I thought at least.
Now that Unity isn't happening- is the NDA on talking about the features on our play testing still active?
