I switched over to Chrome to play YoWorld. It's booted me out of decorating my room for the contest twice this morning. I'm beginning to stress about how I'm going to get my room finished. I'm sick of trying to remember what I did so I can redo it just to be booted again (actually it froze the second time and had to be refreshed, same effect though). I am trying to back out to save it every so often and then go back in so it won't erase all my progress but that's annoying, inefficient, and as I said I've already lost decorating twice anyway. It's very frustrating. I know this is new and won't be running perfectly smoothly yet. I hope the random booting out of the game thing gets fixed though because that is a rather big issue IMO.

I'm also having issues getting some of the ads to work. Even after making sure YoWorld has permission for pop-ups it still is blocking at least one of them. There isn't even a way to close out the ad. It says something about how Chrome won't allow it and makes me have to refresh. I watch the ads for coins every day and hate to lose out on any when there's a limit on how many we can watch as it is.

Today - so far so good with the old xp Dell and the Firefox browser. I purchased hair box, cash and sold through auction house all with no problem. I also changed my hair and clothing and did some decorating! The Forums still look weird- nothing but people's posts and pictutres and all else is blue but that is probably Firefox. So have a great day you all.

Are all these problems related to not using/having a computer to play YO? :?: Ive downloaded the Desk top AP when it first came out and thats all I use. I dont understand what the problem can be with those refusing to download the desktop Ap if they want to continue playing? I use a mac and safari and never had any problems with the ap.
Today on the other hand and due to the changes, my game is very laggy. BUT one thing I wanted to do was buy some YC from todays deal. and it wont open for me, no matter how long I wait. The other boxes are just fine, just not the yc deal.... :grr Anyone else having this problem with the yc deal? :eh:

I normally use the desktop app and have since its inception. And it continues to work as usual. So, out of curiosity, I tried through Chrome and was surprised that the speed and graphic quality are fine. There is a slightly jerky movement to my avi, but other than that, no difference.
I'm not sure though what will happen if I uninstall flash from my computer. If the flash is streaming from a copy on your server, I'm guessing an uninstall locally would have no effect on YoWorld. True?

i haven't uninstalled flash yet but my chrome was pretty ropey. it loaded ok but the fuzziness on n off does my head in. if i look at a pop-up it will then after a second or two show it not blurry... if its a moving pop-up like the one we had with the throne and its fireworks then it was permanently blurry. does the desktop app run without flash? i just downloaded it and its perfect... fast and no blurry

I play another game that uses flash (shhhh!) and so don't feel comfortable uninstalling flash just yet. They say they're ready to go and no changes are needed on our part, so maybe tomorrow on the uninstall. I'm just guessing though that BVG is keeping a master copy of flash on their servers and that copy will be shared with all going forward so uninstall should be ok. Not sure though.

The blurriness sounds like your graphics card may be out of date. Again, just a guess. Not sure why streaming would change that, but a new card might help. Also, you can try various changes to your monitor's resolution through your control panel and see if that helps with the graphics quality. Might help, couldn't hurt and you can always undo if it's a disaster.

My other question to BVG is I heard Adobe, the maker of flash, will begin "blocking" flash starting on Jan 12 I think they said. I am a little concerned that that would thwart the streaming fix. Oh my, the day is at hand. What shall we do?

I'm trying to watch ads from the desktop app and every time it opens a browser to play the ad, the desktop screen goes white.

no the blurriness started the minute the streaming did. same on my daughters laptop and both are pretty new. this was what andrew wrote on the sticky...
Poor image quality?

This is expected for some players. There is no way to fix this other than getting the Desktop App....

so maybe only affecting some of us. i did notice Zip said the same as me and think a couple others said they switched between the two and chrome was blurry for them. i play Angry Birds and Jigsaw Plus and both of them moved to HTML early this year. there was issues to begin with but they sorted them all and work fine now :D

if the desktop app works without flash why are we not just all staying on that instead of HTML... or are we limited in some way on the app?!

Well, Adobe won't be doing any more updates, and that's a security problem. In fact, it was because of security problems that Adobe decided to end flash. And a fight with Apple, but you know. So, like I was saying, I don't quite understand what blocking will mean exactly. But all that aside, facebook will begin some sort of crack down on flash games very soon if not tomorrow. So, I wonder how BVG expects to get around that.

I know, I have more questions than answers, but this should sort itself out soon. As long as my Casablanca Interactive Whispering Camel still works, I'll be good...

I noticed players are basically being forced to download the app if they want to play. I am sure these live stream side effects will continue and continue, until all have downloaded the app full of trackers. Very sneaky and raises serious concerns about vikings misuse of our private information. I noticed more and more hacking attempts.

I remember when they tried to force us to open a game we didn't want to play, before we could open games like farmville. I refused to be forced to do this and quit playing farmville. And I refuse to download a tracking app so viking can help one world gov.'t control us.

Been using the desktop app since it came out. I used it for the daily login stuff and in general only use chrome. However I can live with the desktop app if I have to.

If you can stream HD to your device then this is likely working well enough. I am on a decent desktop hardwired to the net and there is no change whatsoever with image quality on chrome or firefox browsers. Speed isn't far off from normal(yo has never been snappy since the old Z ran days).

If you are trying to play over poor wifi on a slower device(chromebook?) or older hardware, it is probably not going to be fun. bvg probably should have postponed the gem event and anything else that would clog the lines, but they aren't known for being insightful.
