Well Puffin no longer exists but I was still able to get to Yoworld. Now I can not. So I went to my Apple Apps and downloaded the mobile companion. It takes me to YoWorld Casino page and I have no idea how to get to the actual game. I am not great with these computer things. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.
Hon, puffin pro is still working. It's not expensive and is by far the easiest browser for ipad and iphone. The most user friendly. The others are clunky and laggy and not a good option. Edited to add that the mobile companion app is a companion to the game but you can't access the game with it. It has slots and match 3 games. So basically it's a separate thing from the game but stuff you win in the game can either be transferred to the game as in coins/yocash or if it's an item it automatically goes into your game. Hopefully I made that clear enough.

BVG doesn't encrypt the upcoming themes info. Anyone with a little internet knowledge can access it.
I've never been able to find info on upcoming themes and I have internet knowledge. So I'm missing something on how people find out this information.
People use software to "scrape" the YoWorld database. This allows them to see anything that any items/stores/etc that we have added, but haven't made active yet.Miss Klutz (114423285) wrote:Viking Andrew, How will this work with YW Groups posting the new themes and players posting on their FB page also before they come out? Unfortunately, there's not much that we can do to prevent people from posting these sorts of things on Public/Private Facebook groups. We will do everything we can to stop it on pages that we control though.
Thank you Viking Andrew for your responses. I had to look up what "scraping" was and now I know why I could never find anything on new themes coming out since I don't think about how to do illegal things. A suggestion would be to put this info about leaking new themes in the TOS. This is one of the information I found on "scraping" and how illegal action can be taken against a person for "scraping".
So is it legal or illegal?
Web scraping and crawling aren't illegal by themselves. After all, you could scrape or crawl your own website, without a hitch.
The problem arises when you scrape or crawl the website of somebody else, without obtaining their prior written permission, or in disregard of their Terms of Service (ToS). You're essentially putting yourself in a vulnerable position.
Just think about it; you're using the bandwidth of somebody else, and you're freely retrieving and using their data. It's reasonable to think that they might not like it, because what you're doing might hurt them in some way. So depending on many factors (and what mood they're in), they're perfectly free to pursue legal action against you.

The thing is that scrapping has been going on for years and BVG hasn't done anything to prevent it.
And the people posting spoilers are not the only ones.
There's this user who made his own version of yoworld.com with all the users' info.
How can we be sure that they don't have our full names, email addresses, and even our CC info (those who used to buy directly from BVG)?
What does BVG do about it? They forbid users from posting spoilers, that's what "safe and secure" mean to them.

But I was wondering...wouldn't this affect Lyndy's threads for the gem events? Looking at her newest one today there were comments that the items she posted from the first tier weren't even in the db yet.
Please note, I do not want these threads to stop - everyone appreciates them and her, but you, BVG, need to be consistent. It wouldn't be fair if someone got a warning for something and yet others doing the same is fine. We've seen that happen here before and it causes all kinds of negative feelings and divides the forum.

Lori...I sent Viking Andrew a PM asking if it was ok to post the gem tiers after I had opened them but have not received a reply. Since the items were already in game and I used my yocash to open each of the boxes in the tier I don't see how they can be considered a spoiler. So I guess I'll keep posting the gem tiers until I am told otherwise.
