Hi, I am going to buy a computer but not a 300$ one (unlike some folks, covid 19 has caused me some financial limitations) so I want to know what I can use, the minimum gigs or RAM, for either a desktop or laptop. I don't need a supersonic high Def super performance machine, just the minimum to play this game. In a few months I'll be able to get a $600 machine, but I want to play NOW. I use my cheap ONN tablet and shockingly, mine works, I can get in, buy stuff, decorate, change clothes, buy and use everything, just not type but that's ok for now. I'm happy I can at least play. But I need the desktop app to play better. Thanks

Hi! Why not wait until YoWorld releases the HTML5 version (hopefully in early or mid February), as you will be able to play on your mobile and then in several months you can afford to buy a better computer since you will have US$ 600 like you said, thus not wasting your money with a cheap and temporary computer? Just a thought that crossed my mind.

If you need to play with the desktop app and want to buy a computer now, I suggest buying a desktop instead of a laptop if you are playing mostly at home. The reason being you can always upgrade the specs of your desktop later on, like increasing your RAM, adding/replacing the hard drive for more GB, replacing the chip for a faster one, etc. It is much easier to do those things with a desktop than a laptop, and cheaper too. However, you need to investigate if it is possible to do this with the desktop computer you are thinking of buying, since not all desktops can be upgraded because of hardware limitations.

For now to install and play YW with the YW desktop app, a computer with a minimum of 4GB RAM should be adequate, although of course the more the better. I was checking online on Amazon and any of the cheaper Dell PC or similar look good, costing no more than US$150. Of course you need to take a look on their Official websites too, to confirm the specs etc. Try to get one preinstalled with the latest OS (Windows 10 for Windows PC) because the earlier OS versions are either unsupported anymore or have ended the mainstream support from Microsoft. The ability to update your OS regularly from the official Windows Update is very important for security. To safeguard your PC, you can always download and install some light and free AntiVirus and Security softwares.

Please check your browser's privacy setting, don't set it too high. Ads need us to allow them to store cookies in our device.

Thanks Stardust! :-) I was considering a desktop with 8G RAM, win 10. So I am glad to know that I can work with something. Me and my cohorts are desperately addicted to yoworld and the only game we play is yoworld and soccer, lol! Also I will start looking for the right machine in anticipation of html5 for later, too. Appreciate your advice :-)

I guess I will never again play yoworld, as I have been tring to log on since Dec. I'm sorry to see it dissapearfrom my site.

If you don't see the streaming link, there are 2 possibilities:
1. You are using a desktop or a laptop, but not using a browser that is compatible with the streaming YoWorld. Please use Google Chrome, Firefox, Brave, or Vivaldi browser.
2. You are not using a desktop or a laptop.

I hope you can solve this problem soon.

Stardust, funny you said that about desktop versus laptop. Until the desktop I'm on now we haven't bought a computer since radio shack tandy days. My husband has always built them and then just upgraded as things change. I prefer a desktop any day. So I agree with you and for the reasons you mentioned.

Before I switched to using Mac, I used to do that too, I mean upgrading my Windows desktop myself. We just need to have a good and expandable motherboard. I cannot built my own computer like your husband, though, I had it made-to-order to my preference, and then whenever necessary, I opened it and replaced the RAM, the graphic cards, the TV tuner, etc. It was fun, although sometimes I was worried I might cause my computer to explode I thought of building a desktop myself, but never managed to find the time, and then my brother succeeded in persuading me to move to using Mac. Maybe I should switch back to Windows, to be honest I prefer using Windows

Buddy List not loading

I have been playing on the desktop app before the test. Today when I logged in was long lag then loaded in a zoom in and zoom out screen several times. I closed the app and reopened. I didnt have that that issue again however long lags between rooms and when my avi appears shes bald for about a minute in half. My magic herb plant that I have picked daily forever seems to have vanished from the room it was in and not in my inventory. All my portals seemed to have issues and any gold fish that I have renamed to use as room names seems to be rest to say just (Goldie). Rooms with dance floors or anything that moves will not load. Hidden bookshelf room is gone and the inventory is gone as well.
Game has frozen a few times as well. Ill update anymore glitches I notice
