Level 38 in Gem game-HELP

How do you get those gold bars with the chains in the upper center? I did get 1 from a shooting box but not again even if I line them up under those gold pieces.
I can't go any further if I can't figure this out. What am I doing wrong?

Some luck with the "gems" with the lines on them (horizontal up top) and vertical below. Wasn't "stuck" per se but took some persistence. Wasn't stuck there as long as I was on 25. The exploding (shiny) ones might work up top but I don't remember that I ever got one close up there. Good luck!

I figured it had to do with the exploding gems....somehow I got through level 1... good enough for me. Thanks for the help.
