Alot of people say buy low and sell high to make coins.. I go to open auctions and if i buy low the seller poofs, trade centers everyone overprices their items, and closed auctions everyone overbids on everything. Any tips?

Buy in bundles, the more items, the cheaper the price. Then sell individually high.

A really good way to make profits. Is when items leave the store stock up on that kind of stuff and if you see something that is on the hot list buy as cheap as you can and resell for more. Or with any popular item buy low sell high. Hope this helps you out some :)

The AH. Low could mean 700k and high 2mil.

Look for older items from 2008/9 in the AH that people sell for at the price guide price and then mulitply it by 10 and put it back in the AH.

Like the sliding penguin. Priceguide says 500k, I just sold one for 2mil, it took me about 2 weeks to sell it, 24 hrs daily but it eventually sold. You can sometimes see them in the AH going for 200k.

You can often do this with random items from older themes, like zen or egypt wallart, buy them for 2k sell them at 10k.

I can't count the coins I've made doing this. Back when Cupid Wings traded around 15-20k a pair (yes I am an old Yo), I targeted them as an item I could afford to trade. I had about 500k at the time and thought turning lots of cupid wings would make me coins. So I did research on prices and started buying every pair I could find in all colors on the low end. If I saw a WTB event, I'd go with my pile of wings and sell for higher or leave. It was that simple. At one point I had 56 pairs of wings to sell. LOL When I stopped trading them daily, I had about 1.5 in my bank and graduated to low rent 08s. I repeated the process until I had 10 in the bank. Then 20, and 50, ad so on until now it bores me. LOL

But I also have a lot of fun doing it and enjoy meeting people. Making coins is fun, but meeting other players and making friends is better than any pile of coins to me. :)

Use a priceguide and go through old themes, then look in the AH to see if you can see lots of an item from one of those themes being sold cheaply, then start buying up those items. Once you have bought loads and you stop seeing them in the AH, you start putting them back in the AH one at a time at a more expensive price. If you see someone selling the same item in the AH cheaper, buy those items too. You need to dominate an item.

I manage to stay busy in game and rarely go to a sale.

I buy what I like and horde it away --- down the road if i'm not using it ... I will sell it high as possible

Personally, I see YO as a form of self expression not a get rich mario brs type video game.

Believe it or not the AH. I look for things that no one is looking for. For example, I found Melafer flower head band that is 8 YC in stores for 45k BUY OUT in the AH. I went to an auction and it sold for 92k. Bam. Profit right there. I also go to sales not found in the trading section or paty section. You would be surprised what at those sales. Found a Shell bathtub for 25k!

lol, it took me a while to sell it but I was persistent and it eventually sold. I was starting to contemplate lowering the price when one day I went in and saw my coins had jumped and I was like, wooohooo.

Auctions and stocking up on items in stores that have "potential". You can usually tell through trends of WTB events and such. Patience is key though, it may take some time before you make a profit.

You really have to keep your eyes peeled. :) There are lots of us who sell within the price guides still around and also many who still love a good old fashioned trade. It is not always just about coins. Patience is key :)

From events mostly i know whats going to be hot in the next month/2 months/3 months 4 months down the road so always planning ahead. Any theme costume like Halloween, thanksgiving, christmas will double in price this year. Buy something for 7m now wait until Halloween and sell for 14m

Maybe, it has never seemed to be a costume that has gained much value over time. If you can get one for a mil you could try selling it for 2 or 3 but it may be a bit risky.

You could search the trading forum to see if anyone has sold one and for how much to help you decide.
