I have thought of doing this before, just never really understood how such a feature would help the game in any way. Then last night, I had a dream. Yes, this was a dream about YoWorld, and the dream was about me explaining this particular idea here on the forums. In the dream I had explained all of the good uses of having such a feature, that made me come to the realization that maybe this is not such a useless idea. When I snapped awake, I immediately grabbed a pen and a napkin (Hey, they were the only things I had access to at the time), and wrote down everything my dream made me realize.

I am talking about ID Cards! Yes, literal IDs for our Avatars!

These would be ID cards that can be viewed in-game by any other players. These cards would be able to contain out basic information, such as:

NOTE: This list is in no specific order.

-The date you joined the game.
-Your Level
-A photo of your Avatar
-Your ID number
-Your Name
-Your level of support (I will get more into detail of this in this post)

Alright, so let me begin to explain the information these cards will contain.

So first on the list, we have the date you joined the game. This is the date you first began playing YoWorld on the account you are using to play it. So even if you played on Myspace before, regretfully, you will be listed by the date you joined on Facebook. So since I started playing YoWorld on May 8, 2009, the card would display something like May 8, 2009, or 5-8-09.

Then we have your level, this is basically what level you are currently on in the game, most of us are on level 200, so it will show that.

The card will also show a photo of your avatar, from head to toe. The photo will update whenever you change your avatar's look.

Your ID number, is the player ID you were assigned when you first started playing the game. Here on the forums, they can be found right next to our names.

Names, this will not show your real name, or FB name, just your in-game avatar game.

Your level of support, for thos who want to display they support the game, just like here on the forums, people should have the option to show what level of supporter they are on their card (Gold, Silver, Copper). Of course, we should be given the ability to completely hide and/or remove our supporter statuses from the ID cards.

Now, after I explained all of this, there are still going to be some people who don't know how this could be of any use to our community.

Here I will list just what this can prevent:

-Fake Noobs, and begging. There are many players who play the game, dress up as newbies, and go around and beg people for stuff, well, with this feature, we will be able to view when these players really joined the game, in a way to help determine whether or not they are telling the truth.
-Identity theft. This is an issue that is often looked over, people, try to pass themselves off as someone they're not. This especially can become an issue with the Vikings, and people who dress as them, and pass themselves off as them. I realize that the Vikings sometimes don't sport their signature clothing to separate themselves from others, but with these cards, they can have "Viking Edition ID Cards". These are cards created for Vikings only, the cards can be Orange, with the BVG official logo on it as a water mark. This can also prevent general identity theft.

Lets say someone was planning to meet another player in game, to make a trade, and the buyer left the seller their player ID number so when they meet in game, they can identify each other, they would be able to do so with this. There would no longer be need to worry about someone stealing your deal.
-Another thing, if you see an item you like on another player, and would like to take a closer look at it, you can do this, as the ID will let you have a close up image of that person's avatar, since the ID would contain full avatar photos.
-The card will also serve for verification purposes.

Now we get to the fun part, we should be able to customize these cards, we should be able to change their colors of our cards, make the cards our favorite colors. We should also be able to style them with stickers or something. These stickers should be dine as water marks as well so that they don't cover up an important information, they and it should be done so that no information on these cards can be blocked up, no matter how many stickers one puts on it. And since we have an avatar photo on it, why not make it so that we can give that photo different backgrounds?

Of course, there should be a place to purchase all of these stickers, and background, why not the Bank? Give the place some more use. We should also have the ability to, instead of giving our cards a specific color, give the entire thing a background, just like the special BVG Worker's card, we should have the ability to purchase "skins" for our cards.

These cards should look official as well, all of the information they contain should be organized. The cards can be accessed by clicking on a player's avatar, and clicking on the option through the drop-down menu.

This is just an idea, it does not have to be done all fancy and neatly as I described it here, but you know.

Let me know what you guys think. :)

Don't post about that being too much to read, because it's not. That's almost the same as a page out of a novel.

I wrote that in under 10 minutes. I can easily read it in 10 minutes.

Why not just take a virtual fingerprint of every player?

I actually thought about that, but it will not solve fake newbies, would it? The cards can contain fake finger prints on the back, unique ones, but how can we mentally remember that for all of our friends?

Can you make a resume with only the important info??

Jk

I dont like the idea of people knowing my info, it will just give em another chance at being more greedy etc..

Maybe our unique id should display in the player option...but from to full on displaying all my info on a card... i dont think so.

What about people who quit the game and came back? Their date may be older, but their level will be low... then you will get people calling them scammers.... I dont see how this would solve anything, but i would go with it I guess. It doesnt matter.... They already have our game name, they can see our badges(do they still work, I dont know) and not many people would keep track of id numbers...
If it would help people to quit being stupid and falling for scams though, I would be all for something like that, so they have no one to blame but themselves. I just dont think it would.

Now what info is it displaying exactly?

How is it in anyway personal?

Besides your supporter status (which can be hidden) I don't see how anything else is so personal.

All of the information the card contains is basic, and can be found in different ways, putting them all in one spot, would make it more convenient, the only things included there that is not view-able by other people, is your level, what's so wrong about that?
