My husband was involved in the Tet offense in Vietnam and seeing that name brought back some bad memories. I am sure there are other oldies like me who feel the same.

Im sorry; my husband is also a veteran of the Vietnam conflict …… we have to remember they were for the most part young men forced by the draft to take part in a military conflict

(At 18 you had to sign up for the draft. No questions, you were sought out and found if you tried to dodge signing up. They assigned numbers and the lower the number the greater the chance you were going to be pulled for active duty. You had little choice but to organize your life and serve. The draft numbers were published in the local paper. You also of course received a letter from the draft board. I think he still has his letter. )

Tet is a word used for this time of year; and yes in 1968 while we were fire bombing them back to Jesus they did in fact attempt to defend their rights as the owners of invaded land — do I think any of it was right? NO … Im a pacifist

Im a glad for the country they have become; YES, it it a wonderful vacation destination and I feel ashamed as an American that we brought such horrors to this nation of lovely humans - Im deeply sorry for the misguided actions taken by men that made choices based on myth rather then fact and while it will not return to us those lost please know that many of us never supported the war, including the young men forced to serve.

We wish only peace and understanding and joy as we celebrate Tet :)

my husband too was in the tet offensive and it does bring back painful memories as does the whole vietnam conflict. i lost a family member and dear friend later in the conflict. however i do refuse to allow those painful memories to affect my playing of my yo game. just seeing the word vietnam cause those painful fellings and memories to arise. i then acknowledge them, feel them and then immediately move on. i don't put any blame on person(s) of vietnam heritage for my losses or the many. many years my husband hade to take to learn to deal with the aftermath of his usmc service in vietnam. happy and merry tet to all who celebrate that new years holiday.
