When we had to make our own stairs from shelves and embellish the ones in the home with rugs? I've been pillaging some of my older homes and had a nice trip down memory lane.

Oh, yes! I had so many rooms like that. And we'd put candles, lamps or the old freebie fireplace tools on them to make railings. I still do this occasionally!

Note the Enchanted Crystal bannister lol! I also used the fireplace tools in a pinch. Our free gifts served multiple purposes in the early days :haha:

I have countless houses with homemade stairs! The best railing was the small gold fence from Animal Park 2016! I had the sweetest friend (who has sadly passed away), show me how to make stairs with glass shelves.

Now its so much easier, but I find it less challenging.

The (125 coin) Entertainment Stand was also good for making stairs back in the day.

Yes! I did those a lot when I started. Feels like a lifetime ago. :wailing:

I'm both missing those good old days where we had to get creative but also like that we have so much more to play with now than we did back then.

This is an old room in my old apartment. I made the railings with makeup cases from the fashion theme.

I love seeing all of these creative decorating solutions! These designs actually look better than what is available in the store. Those peppermint console stairs and makeup case railings are so cool!
