For those of us who've been playing the game a long time, we have huge inventories. It would make decorating so much easier if we could also shop by grouped items like "chairs", "tables", "windows" , "flowers", etc., and colours. Not possible at the store and really necessary there - when i'm decorating and find i don't have something suitable in my own inventory, would be great to be able to go to the store and select "shelves" or "bookcases", etc., to see all the available options.

Even when decorating from your own inventory, not all items contain consistent identifying words in their names so you can't pull everything available. PLUS, when you use keywords to search your inventory and select one item, the list goes back to the beginning. Again, if you have a large inventory, it can mean scrolling through many screens repeatedly. It would be great if this could be fixed.

There should be some simple way to facilitate those searches. I am still looking for an items and it has been about a year since I last saw it.

I used to use Yoville.com alot, back in the day, to find my items (all our houses were viewable on our profiles, so searching thru houses looking for items was alot easier here). Also, when Zynga still had their Yoville.com "Items for sale" functioning, they had buttons for item categories (pants, shirt, chairs, tables, etc.). Made looking for specific items much easier! Hopefully BVG creates something similar.
