LOL Honestly, this just makes me seriously think hard about putting too much into the game <money wise>. The fact that my game is at risk, not because I have done anything wrong in game, but is held at the mercy of those who over mere disagreement wish to see others lose their accounts. We all know that this becomes a mission for people who can't deal with reality.

My in game behavior also is completely unrelated to my interactions here. I do not socialize much in game and when I do it is only with friends for the most part.

Here on the other hand I might disagree with someone and no matter how respectfully it is done, there are many who are easily threatened and intimidated. It is one thing to have your forum privilege at risk and completely another for the extension to game, all to be at the mercy of another persons interpretation, in a very limited medium.

I completely agree with not allowing personal attacks. I clearly understand the difference, between disagreeing, even strongly and a personal attack. So many people here do not!

That is exactly the problem, it won't even be the people involved reporting it!! It is others holding personal vendetta or just lurking that feel the need to step in and do so!!

just to add... seeing how our ingame accounts are now at stake by someone else's reporting and interpretations on what one might say to be 'offensive' or 'bullying', I will NOT be buying any yocash for a very long time. I am thankful this game is still thriving but I do not like being threatened or treated like I am a child.....

Thanks OP. Hope some of the concerns here can be commented on.

Gary Stevenson wrote:Hey YoFans,

As you know, we created the forums to be a fun place to hang out and talk Yo. For the most part, it all works beautifully and we're all the better for it.

However, as of late we've noticed a worrying trend of people being hostile, insulting or aggressive towards other users, including belittling them, calling them out for no reason or just generally being mean to them.

We've stated this before, but I will unequivocally state it again for anyone who missed it. If you post with the intent of being mean about someone, either directly or indirectly, you may lose your forum access. Additionally, as the forums are an extension of the game, and someone who is abusive on the forum is likely to also be abusive in-game, you may lose your game access too.

Being snarky or witty at someone else's expense isn't worth it. If you can't post nicely, don't post at all. Thanks!

here here....noticed that myself. It's a new yoworld folks....lets try and keep it fresh and new by leaving old behaviours elsewhere.

curious: who is threatening you? I think people who aren't nice to other people should perhaps feel warned (not really threatened).

If you are reasonably respectful of folks in general...its all good...

I am having flashbacks to the FB community group. :? Anyone else remember all the reporting? It would be really wrong for someone to lose their game account over joking with friends.....I guess, from my point of view not everything needs to be reported, but I do think some will take it to extremes. I feel bad for the moderators who will have to sort through all the reports and I do hope that people do not report because of grudges they are holding. I will remain hopeful that reports will be investigated and not just acted upon.

Absolutely. There is a history here on the forums and it's no secret that certain posters have made it clear outside this forum that their goal is to get certain people banned. They're usually the ones who don't name names and coyly bait for reactions. I certainly hope Gary and/or Greg can see how important the block feature is. :)

I didnt buy the cash i was going to today. All that went through my head is that I am at the mercy of someone who may not like my friends so i get reported for something silly. That happened on the old forums more than once. There, i was able to pm the ninja back and explain myself at least and I got my points removed. I dont know if we can even have a conversation or defend ourselves here. Since my account is over 5 years of time and money put in, I am not sure i should even be here. I am not disrespectful but i can be snarky when its deserved. i would hate to lose my account over that, but neither do i want to have to watch each and every word in case it may be reported.

i am fairly sure that any reports made to the game would be thoroughly checked and people would not lose their accounts over fabricated accusations. I think we have to have a little faith that complaints or accusations would be properly examined.

Not paying is your choice but making it a condition that seems to be an attempt at forcing BVG to change their TOS...so it suits you also doesn't seem right.

If we are kind and nice to people....no one should complain.

Absolutely, and I watched it being done to good people who did not deserve to be banned....yet the inciters who pushed that report button got to stay-it appeared to be a game.
I hope this is done fairly and no more good people get penalized for the actions of these 'certain posters', and we all know who they were, and have changed their names to.
I hope they all take this warning as an opportunity to change their tunes, and start being kind, nice and decent human beings.

If you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all.. Its what I was taught when I was a wee one. If someone is baiting you, leave the situation and keep yourself ..safe ..so as to not get put into a situation where you feel you may become a victim of someones personal vendetta against you and what you may of said on here.

I don't think its to hard to figure out. Just be nice, kind, understanding etc with the words that you type in hereā€¦ and it should be perfectly fine.

also sometimes its not always necessary to always have the last word in a debate.
