I think one challenge with the badges is that it could leave some players feeling left out, or ashamed in some way, if they can't afford to purchase yocash. Some folks don't buy yocash because they don't feel called to put real money into a game. Some would actually like to, but might not have the funds to do so, and may then feel badly, or spotlighted for not being a "supporter". Mixed feelings... Glad BVG is getting folks putting money into the game to help support it, but not sure that everyone needs to know who...

I am not saying i will never buy yc again, in all likelihood, i will buy again but it is not a certainty anymore at this point . I do appreciate all they have done and i have helped support them as much as i can at the present time but i do not want it announced to the world persay. I would be more motivated to keep spending like i have in the past if it stayed between me and BVG. perhaps just a ty ecard(not to be confused with a yc card) once in a while or maybe a surprise gift at random rare times would be better in my opinion.

I totally agree with you there.

I would like to see VIP reintroduced instead of the badge thing.

Perhaps free VIP for those who contribute on a regular basis?

yea, like maybe have the VIP only given to people that consistantly buy a predetermined amount of yc, i am obviously not a business man but it just seems like it would motivate more people while not making others feel bad about themselves

I know Yoworld is not the same as Fishworld, but there it is a buying based VIP.... it changes each month depending on how much you spend and you get different perks based on your level.... That would be good here as well i think.

A heated debate.. I don't think they should completely take off the supporter badges, just have an option to hide it..

No I don't, it is unfair to pressure people into buying cash in the present Economy, and already I have seen posts where loyal players feel 'shamed' because of their badge. I personally don't want the amount I spend on the game to be public knowledge, especially when the topic had never been discussed or we have not been given an opt out option. I am well aware of the expenditure incurred in running a game such as this, however, taking that into account, people should not be judged by the amount of cash they have available to spend on a game. I also feel that the comparison made between the UK and Egypt is quite unnecessary as the two countries are so different, that does not make one country more or less important than the other. In my view comparisons such as this will create in game animosity, and resentment, in a world where we should be promoting peace, unity and equality..

Not everyone will look down on you and those who do will show their true colors and won't be worth your time anyways.

I think it's silly, honestly. I definitely don't intend on buying YoCash every month just to maintain a "badge status" but I will buy some here and there to help support the game that I love.

its simply recognition & after spending real hard earned money over a good few years , its my view this new badge is welcome. :D
dont be so bitter about it ! its not a competition is it ?

She could have spent just as much as you 'over the years' but suddenly had something unexpected come up this past month and wasn't able to purchase. You were. The badge doesn't show over the years worth of yc, it's monthly. Next month if you hit hard times, yours might be gone.

At first I voted that I don't mind, but after reading the forum, I would have changed my vote to "No" if I could. It looks like it causes too many issues. As I mentioned in Greg's thread, I think that in game perks would be better for supporters.

I was just gonna post this.

I voted yes but I'd rather change it to no now...

I voted no. I've already seen people using the new badge system to belittle others who don't have a badge.

Many players without those elite badges HAVE spent money in the past. They just see no product that sparks their interest as of yet. I've bought hundreds of dollars worth of in-game currency in the past when I saw an item I WANTED. I will not pay 5-100 dollars for a virtual badge or donate to a company. I also will not be purchasing in the future as long as there is an un-optional badge system in place. No one here has the right to know what I spend.

Doesnt affect my game play so it has no affect on me. Trivial stuff. Lack of support however is something that needs to be addressed. Been waiting since Monday for a response to my lost hair.

Frankly, a demonstration of support is a show of support, no matter when it was demonstrated. While I like the idea behind it, I just don't like the fact that it simply fades in 30 days as though prior demonstrations of support were insignificant.

I don't know if I'll want to buy YC anymore because of this, as others are making it sound, if you don't spend tons of money per month, you aren't welcome here.. If they just got rid of everyone who didn't buy yocash all the time, how would the yo economy be? If everyone had yocash and bought out the stores, what money would they be making at sales? I 100% agree with your post, Some are acting like they deserve a throne and I don't think it's right.
