I agree and think that there should be maybe a 3 item limit on what you are wishing for. Some of the lists are crazy long. This looks more like begging to me.

That depends. If the person gifted others or held contests for other players to win prizes sometimes or doing something helpful for the community in whichever way,I wouldn't feel bothered by them having an expensive wish list (siggy) at all.
However if someone who never did anything nice at all had one, I'd just ignore it and stick to not saying anything at all when I have nothing nice to say.

Borgessa (124826802) wrote:Hypothetical question for you all... How would you feel about someone with a huge wishlist in their siggy, could afford to buy all of what they have in their wishlist and have spare change to boot. Say they had - I dunno around 20 mil? Yet are asking for Million coin items pretty much for free?

"Usually", Over the years i have given away over 500k, prob close to 1m, to noobs and various yocash items.. you shouldn't judge a book by its cover because you don't know what the person has done in their past.

Wishlists...are Begging lists. No matter how people want to use flowery words to disguise that fact, it won't change the actual fact that they are indeed Begging for items in a game. IMO.
While I think begging is a shameful act, I know I can't control others' actions. So, I have NO problems with wishlists...when they are kept in their proper location in the Wishlist section of the forum. I never venture over to that section so I'm not bothered at what's posted there. As long as I don't have to see them day in, day out...people can make life size posters, shopping lists and even videos of all their OMG TO DIE FOR wishes for those that actually care enough to look at them.

BUT...when their leechiness (<--probably not a real word, but I like it anyway) starts spilling over into the other sections of the forum in the form of Begging Signatures, I get annoyed. It's no longer my choice when it's in my face every day and there's almost no way to avoid it. I shouldn't have to put everyone on a Foe list in order not to have to look at their begging siggies. Some of these folks...might actually have good viewpoints that I may want to read.

I prefer how it used to be. Wishlists kept to one post per day in a daily wishlist thread. That way those who want to make wishes can, those who want to grant them know where to go, and everyone who doesn't want to see them doesn't have to.

if you hung around random peoples birthday parties, holding a sign, listing things you wished for, not having seen a star. or having celebrated a birthday.. yes, it is begging :D

Last week when this discussion came up I was rather indifferent to others use of wishlist while I know I would never have my own. However, I've paid closer attention to siggies and think there are people taking advantage of the generosity of others.

It is a very indirect way of begging.

It's a nice way to help new players, but individuals that have been playing for awhile that have constant changing list I feel are taking advantage generous players. At what point do you draw a line in allowing people to just give you tons of expensive items. It's one thing to just be given things out of the blue, it's another to be given things constantly because you have a long list for people to see.

If you announce your wishes and hold up signs showing everyone what they are...every day, then yes. I'd say you were begging for someone to give you what you want.

I know you were being sarcastic, but blowing out a candle and making a wish isn't quite the same. I've always been told "Don't announce your wish...it won't come true". Maybe that's why I'm so irked by all the "announcements" plastered all over the forums. Begging to me...is just not a respectable trait in a person.

I have noticed this as well, also would like to say---hope I don't get trashed for this----but it seems every boo hoo thread, everyone hates on me type thread, has a wishlist. Probably just coincidence. But, I have to wonder how many try to manipulate others with sad stories in order to get a gift. I hope not, probably not, but sometimes it seems that way

I would never be so bold to ask or "wish" for another player to give me something they worked for. There are so many in this game now that have this attitude of expecting others to support their enjoyment in this game. as long as it stays in WCG I don't care if they feed off each other, but when that greed spills over to other forums, then I mind. There is a rule about signatures and now some are manipulating them because they aren't being "seen" enough in WCG. Yesterday I witnessed a player complain about paying a certain amount for an item, yet posted a screen shot showing they had MILLIONS of coins. How in good conscience can someone "beg" for a good yocash rate but have millions. Please don't try to justify it, there is no justification.

As I said, what they do in WCG is no concern of mine. However, there has been this disturbing trend in discussions lately of subtle begging posts. We see it. You might think you have cleverly hidden it behind you, "does this item even exist?" or "Player XYZ hurt my feelings" and of course the "I have been searching two days for this item in AH but it is too expensive" posts. Most of the seasoned players have been subjected to these subtle begging posts for years. We can spot them a mile away. ;)

So feel free to commence with your, "I am being bullied about my begging" posts if you wish. You can whine all you want when it is pointed out to you and play the victim if it makes you feel better (of course playing victim alse gets you gifted quicker ;) ) But in my ever so humble opinion, you are NO better than the people who are openly scamming others in game. In fact you are far worse because you are preying on the generosity of others when you post your "boo hoos" and to me that is shameful. Scamming isn't allowed in the game and it should not be allowed here on the forums.
