All I'm saying is that at the very least an item should be in store for 24 hours to cater for people worldwide. Location is important as people from all over the world play and their location is a factor. I am talking about time zones with regard to past releases like the one that included the celtic cross. I am sure bvg is reading all this and will take into account what they have learned from our discussions.

I'm sure they're reading it all too...and I'm thankful for that. BVG seems to really care about their customers. Some players can't log in daily, some can only log in once or twice a week. Having releases for 24 hours wouldn't be fair to them. The point is that things will never be completely "fair" to everyone across the board.

the celtic cross was also a hacked item ... thousands were brought into the game.. for such a short time release, seems everyone that played yo bought one then, that's how many are in game

Well one thing is for certain, that clarification by John didn't put this to bed at all.

What if it took Zynga more than a few hours to realize that they accidentally released it? Take a look at Gary's pants, they were accidental, yet they were in stores for a full weekend, does that mean they were official? No, the developers themselves said it was accidental! This is why I say, if it was released for an alarmingly short time, then it could fall into any of the two categories, since Zynga themselves never tagged the items as accidental/official.

So once again, no one knows, we will have to wait and see.

exactly

When an item is released within a category in a store, it has been officially released...PERIOD. It was not an accident....was it a mistake...maybe....but it wasn't an accident.

An accident is something unavoidable. A mistake is something done consciously, intentionally, that doesn't seem like it will lead to trouble until after the fact.

I just don't get how the purposeful release of an item and the purposeful yanking of an item equates to being accidental?

Gary's pants weren't an accident. I remember seeing either he or a Viking mentioning them while they were in the store.... They were acknowledged.
Then they disappeared with no warning and called a mistake.
I find no mistake in their experiment. ;)

But I'm curious to know what they've learned by it and how it will apply to the items currently being debated. ;)

Paula (127963301) wrote:Erm, no! I never said nor implied any such thing. If you read my posts, I have said the exact opposite. I stated that Zynga always gave notice of short time releases..ergo...fair chance to buy! In the case of the cross, it was removed before mostly anyone had a chance to buy it. It was an accidental release, removed due to Zynga religious policy and therefore should be released back into the game if BVG have no objections to releasing items into the game of a religious nature. Given that the cross is still in game, I believe they have no objection at all.
I was merely reiterating the words of Gary and Viking John about what constitutes a fair chance of buying an item.

It wasn't an accidental release....it was released with a regular release of items. How did players not know? You were reiterating your interpretation of what Gary and Viking John stated. You believe the cross was an "accidental" release. I believe it was released and then removed because of complaints. That doesn't make it accidental at all.

Zynga released the cross into the game breaking their own TOS in regards to the ban on all things political and religious. I call that accidental on Zynga's behalf.

Using that theory then all Easter, Christmas, Jewish items should've been removed as well. Those are all religious.

Oh how I agree with this. And I can't wait to see what they have :) I'm a collector so I'll be waiting especially for those collectibles. And to see what kind of costumes they put out.

When the first release of unreleased items were released, in Gary's post, he said something like "Oops, you guys were not supposed to see my special pants yet"

Even if they did acknowledge it, it was accidental. From what I see, people are just throwing everything into certain categories because it helps their side of the argument, you are not giving reasonable reasons. Once again, no one knows.

The thing is though that no matter what they say, people will keep asking for them. You know what? I am amazed. Amazed because even though I had quit the game when Zynga was around, I was here when BVG opened and this was different. People were extremely grateful with BVG and some even treated them as idols to be honest. I am against treating anybody as an idol but some recognition is not bad after all they did. Now we're moving torwads the game that Zynga had. We ask and ask and ask and nothing is enough. "I am happy if they just release WGN hair" no you're not, you'll always want more. They have done a lot already, let's try to be patient! We know how re-releases drove players away from Zynga but we didn't learn a thing. I am sure that the re-release of some items will drive lots of players away, same as I was sure that it was Zynga's end when lots of people didn't seem to notice. Enough is enough, friends. Let's have fun in the game the good old way and keep the little utopia that we had when this all started.

They have stated multiple times that they are not planning to re release previoulsy released items! Collectibles are guaranteed not to return as that was the point of them in the first place. A one time only release. I think a lot of it is people trying to get stuff cheaper, the other part is wishful thinking.
