When people want new stuff, the options are limited to get them - buy yo cash or find a dealer. If the stuff is out of reach, they won't try. We will see the path of the game over the summer. The yo economy won't be anything if BVG's real economy doesn't get to the black.

Double ended sword.
I, obviously, can afford pretty much any item that I wanna buy and pay whatever ridiculous amount it takes to get it...plus I have plenty of inventory that I could potentially sell for a ridiculous amount of coin to buy some more ridiculous priced crap....
The economy of this game is completely broken and because of how it became broken there is almost no way to fix it.

I think they could safely have a higher daily coin intake at this point, even 20-25K, without missing a beat. Again, super active economy, so people will spend it as fast as they get it.

This is incorrect and let me illustrate.
3. You say the current market is going to push people out of the game? Really? Why? Does everyone need to have every item to be happy? I don't think so. Most are here to have a good time, do some decorating, hang out. And with the market as it is, as I illustrated above, there is a little more incentive to plop a few bucks down and buy some YC and support the continued existence of Yo.
Seems pretty basic to me.

1. Let us imagine that tomorrow, all rare items, such as retros, 08 costumes, etc. dropped and were all 50K a piece. Well, we could all pretty much afford whatever we wanted then, couldn't we? YoCash dealers would cease to operate because they wouldn't need to drum up coins to purchase their dream items. Loss for BVG. Nail in YoWorld's coffin.
2. Let us imagine that tomorrow, similarly, the YoCash rate for dealers dropped to the horrific 09 Halloween rate of 300K:1. Well now you have a scenario where buying YoCash is virtually pointless. I mean seriously if you can pick up a 10YC item for a measly 3000K, what would be the point in even buying any? Might as well pay coins. 3K in coin is hardly a sum that is difficult to drum up.
3. You say the current market is going to push people out of the game? Really? Why? Does everyone need to have every item to be happy? I don't think so. On 3...when I was initially a new player in 2008 on Myspace, the black performance stage was in store...I thought to myself who is ever gonna get 20k to buy one of those??? I summarily saw the pricing of everything else compared to what I was making at the factory and was flabbergasted that it would take me a whole day of working just to buy a sofa.
I played a week and quit.
Now, we're in a game who's economy is pushing out 10k jackets. It would take the new player a week + to afford one of those.
The entire economy is so screwed up there is no way to fix it without upsetting the older established playing base or the potential new playing base. The game desperately needs a balance of both for long term sustainability.
The only way to fix things is to price things in a way where the majority of players wouldn't be able to buy anything and everything...just like how things were back in 09 when we all saw Retro Specs in store and thought 20k for a pair of sunglasses?! Now they could release 100k sunglasses and no one would bat an eyelash and buy 2 pairs of each color LMAO However, that 100k price tag is certainly going to push any type of new player development out the door.
They would literally have to start producing 1m coin collectibles to try and undue the damage of the billions upon billions of coins floating in the player base. How well do you think that would be received overall?

Rain (110294179) wrote:I laugh when I hear comments about how "bad" the economy is.
There are obviously no economists playing Yo.
When prices soar and people are spending, spending, spending, that's a STRONG economy.
The only people claiming the economy is "bad" are folks who can't afford to have everything they want and think it should all be easy to get.
Start with what you CAN afford and work your way up. None of us has EVERYTHING.

And what's priced right to a player base that has literally billions of coins/items they can get to if need be?
Serious question.

The only way that will happen is if BVG does something foolish like re-releasing old costumes, retrospecks, etc. If they do that the market will of course crash and it will also kill their YC sales. I like to think they are smarter than that. We have been there and done that and the results were catastrophic.
