I would only buy and sell item's you want. That way you don't end up with items you don't want.
Around christmas and such some of them will go up in value if you want to hang on to them.
I would advise if you trying to sell item's right away, ask on the forum, have a buyer lined up, or just don't get extra items.

The only cash items I bought was a pair of sunglasses, and that was by accident  and a hair. I don't mind spending the cash on hair for a specific color but the rest I can make do with the coin versions. This last purchase of yocash I made is lasting quite awhile because of all the coin items. :D

Your right of course - and I never buy anything I wouldn't mind being stuck with. That is great advice :)

Personally sometimes I still like the yc colors better and technically would buy them, however currently I am working on a few room projects, hence hesitant to spend any coins, unless it's for items I need for those rooms.
I hang on my items, and have a hard time getting myself to sell things to make more coins, especially if I haven't decorated with a theme yet and don't know which may come in handy one day.

This game is basically starting over, we're trying to encourage NEW people to play...so why not be considerate of them. If I get on disability I may start dealing again, and my rate will still be 10k-1yc...because I understand what it's like to struggle with no coins.

Just my opinion again.

Stopping the need for YC dealers does not help the company profit at all because the YC dealers are buying YC to deal to others.

Even at 10:1 a 23yc hair is still high for a newer player. At the same time current yc rates also reflect what's going on in the real world economy. Entertainment budgets are the first to get hit in real life and that money spent needs to go further and has a higher premium. People are free to buy their own if they don't like the rates.

But there's no doubt that appeasing the non yc buying crowd with coin accessories will hurt yc sales. I saw it coming and am seeing it. BVG will too. Now that they've set a precedence the backlash will be horrendous if they go back to the older ways. But their bottom line has to come before appeasing non paying customers if the game is to survive.

Exactly. If no one is buying, or just a few - then in the end. We are all screwed right?

I haven't read all the posts either, and although I'm sure that releasing same items in different colors for coins or yc makes a difference, people are running out of coins too, so the high rates of yc dealers are hard to swallow. I went to an event last night where a guy was selling all the new yc hats, all colors for 90k each. He couldn't keep up with the buyers. I looked in the AH and at that time, the cheapest new was 250k.
I believe that BVG is trying to drastically reduce the coins in game and I believe it's working. Now, yc dealers are either going to have to cool it with the rates, or people are going to have to buy their own yc, or people are going to quit. How it ends up remains to be seen I guess.

I was thinking the other day when I checked events after recent releases, you can hardly tell there has been a release. There are very few events for selling and even less for wanting to buy.

I personally think not having a timer on items stops the frenzy because no one has to be in a rush to buy. No rush to buy, so people also wait and not pay high prices immediately after releases.

Well looks like more and more people will have to buy their own YC cause fewer dealers will bother. As I said before, how is that good for the game if fewer people spend real dollars. Its good for no one.

I agree with you Borg and another thing is items aren't leaving stores. More people would stock up on items if they were leaving stores. Out of this last release I found myself buying what I wanted out of ah and not buying any yocash towards it. I'm really looking forward for bvg to make limited items.

I personally buy more yc items than coins. I even suggest to buy stuff I like at sales with yc as I'd rather buy more yc if I'm broke than buy coins, or sell my items to get the coins. The coins are somehow more precious to me. ;)

Borgessa, I think you're right. It's easy to just skip over the yocash colors and get the coin options instead.

I think the coin options leave less need to buy yocash items in general. I'm going to use yesterday's release as an example.

I really liked the bikinis that were released, and I liked the yocash ones the most. Even though those were the bikinis I liked the most, I didn't feel compelled to buy yocash to get them, because the coin ones were similar enough that it made it easy to just settle with them instead.

The hats were all yocash. I loved the hats. Even though I didn't purchase yocash right away to get them, I kept feeling compelled to because it's the only way I could have one. The urge to have one won out, and later I caved in and bought yocash.

I did end up buying the bikinis I loved for yocash, but only as an after thought because I had yocash left over after I bought the hats I wanted. I would have been perfectly content to just stick to the coin ones otherwise.

Since I do purchase my own yocash for personal use, I can only speculate as to why other people aren't buying as much through dealers. My guess would be the yocash rate coupled with there being less ways to earn coins both through legitimate and illegitimate means, as well as the coin options available in the store.

I think it's partly because everyone gets a chance to get everything there are no short time releases, everything is staying in stores, there is no rush for anyone to buy anything.. we can wait till it goes on clearance (BVG stated that all items will stay in stores until they see a drop in sales, then they be put on clearance and removed) ..

most of my future purchases of yocash items will be when they go on sale.. always shopped that way.. best way to save money! .. saving 30% off the sticker price encourages me to wait

Exactly!! (you look adorable btw) If buying yc is the only way to get something (not wanting to pay yc rates of course) you got the yc and got it. I've settled for coin options over yc ones myself. I think most people will go that way too. And that's not good for bvg.

Ive been buying the yc items, mainly in the AH though as events are too busy when new things are out, i tend to lag or disconnect.. i paid way over the price i should have for my blue hat but i don't mind... I don't mind paying higher as someone is technically selling me an item they paid real money for...

Some of the prices in the AH for the new hat were 700k+ i managed to snag one for 500k..

Right now i don't have the extra cash to buy my own YC so will buy what i want via coins.. if its something i really want ill pay over if need be, if its not something i want 'right now' ill wait until it lowers :)

could it be a case of BVG trying to please too many players at the same time??? the ones that do not spend money on the game seem to have very loud keyboards and complain about prices and availability ... almost making the yocash buying player feel guilty ...

people need to be reminded, there is a free aspect of the game, then there is the paid aspect.. much like anything else in life. you get what you pay for.. pay nothing, get nothing, pay lots, ... you get the picture..

but nope, I cannot say that, that makes me a bad person, greedy, unfair even...

I've been saying this all along. Pricing is one thing Zynga maybe sorta got right. We all expected accs to be cash, whether we liked it or not. If you give people a choice between coin and cash the coin ones will be bought, bad for BVG's bottom line and in the end bad for us all

I also agree with the people saying how will we price them later on, remember what was cash and hm. Opens people up to undo scamming imo
