I doubt the troops would even know they are being supported in a game called YoWorld...with all the stuff they've got going on and all.
I don't care one way or the other about a theme like this...I wouldn't be offended either way.
I'd prefer not to be constantly reminded of the useless wars and all the lives lost, but hey...that's just me.

Yeah i say that part was a bit too much.

I'm from Canada, and I wouldn't be "offended" but I sure wouldn't buy anything "supporting troops" with an american flag on it. If anything, they should do a UN theme or something, that way every nation can feel somewhat represented.

I agree 100%! That is the point I am trying to make!! People have either lost their lives and/or been seriously injured in Afghanistan and in Iraq! there are so many people from my area who have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. But "Support Our Troops" theme is a good idea as well.

there are family members on Yoworld who have family members who are currently serving and/or have served overseas in Iraq and/or Afghanistan and/or other countries. So yes, the families would know.

We have to remember here that the United States isn't the only country that plays this game.

Perhaps it would be more neutral to do a "Support Our Troops" theme without the designation of
Country or Origin.

When you say "What's wrong with you people?" we have to remember that "you people" could
be anyone from any country. While I love where I live and think it's the greatest place on the planet
I'm sure that others feel their country is also the greatest place on the planet.

There's nothing "wrong" with "you people" except for the fact that they do not share
a military bond nor a patriotic feeling towards our country.

We have plenty in game to give tribute, should we choose. Let's see what you can come up with.

Sad, ..war is sad and the loss of lives bc of war is sad....The only war that I think did any good was WWII... I can't think of one that was actually good for the US....or any country... People with power seem to desire corruption and mayhem...then the people that follow them to vote are nearly as worse as the leaders bc anything the leader does, they protect...it's insanity! I love my country, but I can't stand this government. Good luck to u in the service, but useless, nah, ur service is very much needed even in peace time xD

The incessant wars are what I find useless. The need for peaceful diplomacy is much more necessary IMO.

Can I suggest an idea for all those who want to pay tribute to service people? What about donating to a charity that helps veterans. There are so many who are homeless or suffering terribly from the aftermath of war, with PTSD, alcohol and drug dependency, debilitating injuries etc. That sort of tribute would surely be more useful than buying items in a game.

Well, if you would kindly change your title to "Tribute to Troops from all countries" then I might consider it.

I am from the UK where many of our boys and girls have died alongside troops from the US, Canada and other countries. I find it rather insulting that everything has to just revolve around the US troops all the time.

We do not have Memorial Day. We have Remembrance Day on 11/11 - but when have we had a day here for us? All the releases have had the US stamped very firmly on them!

It makes me feel as though our troops - and those from other countries - mean nothing to you just because you live in the US.

When the op made this thread she was not thinking of the rest of us - just the US troops. Our own troops probably never even crossed her mind.
