I tried playing that other game that 's meant to be like Yo its seriously confusing. Full of really young ones like under 18's. No map, no Home icon its HARD.

BUT that game gives you a pile of starter stuff that's up to date with the game so say it was Yo, you would get shoes and a dress and a hair from 2020 onwards .
Which means you would blend in more if you are new. I know the starter clothes did change at one point they're no longer like the pink dress we get in gems and the apartment deco did too. I've no idea if the starter items have changed recently though .
I have a clock app account and a Tube one, I've seen a few younger people posting about Yo they say things like "oh that cute OLD game its not around any more "
they think it's gone, I see some comments on FB like that too saying things like "This game still exists?"
There isn't any advertising for it. Those of you who play Fish World are there adds saying "play Yo and get X thing"?

Most games when you first start are hard unless you do have lots of spare $$ to throw into them most games have a VIP programme now.
I just don't think there is the incentives that there could be with this game.
Look at all of you saying "naaa I wouldn't play for long"
Take me for instance, I could get VIP I can afford it but the VIP store just isn't updated enough ( hubby has VIP so I know whats in there)
All the good stuff is in Slots and Casino that I do not play, if those items were available for VIP's even a few weeks after release in slots I'd be VIP very FAST .. a discount on houses and the other discounts aren't enough for me.
A permanent discount on EVERYTHING in store for VIP yeah I'd be in that

So any new game I go to play wants me to pay via some deal to get a good start. I"m not opposed to that, but how do I know I"ll still be playing in a week? Typically I won't be. So I might drop 2.99, for example, but I'm not really going to do more than that till I see if I like the game. Starter packages of coins and yocash with an AI "buddy" would be a great idea for someone like me. I tried another game and I still haven't figured out how to get out the door. If I had some help I might like it, but since it's not an "escape" game I'm not spending any time trying to figure it out. :haha:

If I were a new player I"d probably like it, but I wouldn't be inclined to try to figure everything out and there's a lot in this game. I understand why there's a level requirement for trading, but honestly for new players it's got to be a hindrance.

i'd love to see a lot of new players, honestly the graphics of some other games are not that great and Yo is every bit as good. With such a dedicated player base I don't understand why BVG doesn't court new players. We will keep it going probably as long as possible but eventually with no new players that's going to be it.

I probably wouldn't stay in game these days it is much harder than when it was Y*ville.

These so-called new players these days are more like FAKE accounts soley for begging, we all see it daily in events them asking over and over for months same person looks poor and wears the old YO eyes hairs etc. Sadly, there are those that feed into their lies as the askers I'm sure laugh their YO heads off on just how gullible the kind person is thinking that they are helping. You'd think that those who have gifted them would notice the appearance stays the same as they most likely gifted hairs eyes etc to them. New players don't know what is rare. I hate when they say give me your junk, nothing in this game is junk if it can be placed in AH and sold. They want rich Items like you mentioned. I've been kicked from so many of their events when you start to tell them how to play :haha: , that right there is a telltale sign they're B*llsh*tting you. I block everyone that I can because I know they're lying, and I only gift my friends. When I started I "NEVER" asked for anything, I played the game earned my own way, isn't this what we're supposed to do play it is a game not real life.

Away it's a pet peeve with them, and I do feel bad for the ones who don't ask and are legit it has to be a struggle those ones I wouldn't mind helping but they won't because they are legit.

Totally agree with that a real newb would have no idea what is rare and what isn't .
I used to gift and still do if the person is on a level lower than I am
which is easy enough to tell on here ( forums), in events its a bit harder but the words and how they ask gives them away .
Some people love to gift though it doesn't matter who they gift or what and they make events to give stuff away and hey I'm fine with that too .

I think I'd rather someone say " give me stuff" on a game where I'm in control, I can block or mute them on a game can't in RL , and thats' possibly why they do ask , its a game they aren't going round asking that in RL , well I hope not anyway

LisaTM (10095126) wrote:I played in '08 on MySpace I think when it was first out and had no idea what I was doing the first time and didn't come back. I joined on FB in early '09 and was hooked right away, despite the cost. I remember saving up however many few coins to buy a toilet in the Depot. There was that other platform I can't remember the name of, too. :haha: It took years to amass the stuff I have/had and I learned the ropes at some point. I socialized, I saved, I sold, I bought, etc. And I made some friends. What got me hooked in '09 was that you could decorate rooms. Of course I saw some rooms when the friend ladder was a room showcase and I went to events. I was like

I tried to recruit some RL friends (the one who got me to try this was the inspiration) back in '09 and they were not fans. They said it was a bland version of Sims and got bored quickly.

All of that being said, I would never try to suggest this game to people. It has changed so much since the beginning when it had the most players, and it's more expensive now than ever. And it's more complex and a PITA than it was initially. I've got one foot in and one foot out at this point. I can't begin to imagine starting fresh.

You have hit the nail on the head Lisa with all you said. Things have changed way too much. It's not the same game it was. Those coming in new would have a very difficult time getting anywhere with most stuff going into gambling and anything they want to buy in the AH being way too expensive unless you've played for years and have accumulated a lot of coins and yc.

Thinking back, to when I was a new player- What brought me to YoVille in the first place was a good friend of mine who played and showed it to me. I liked the social aspect of the game and the cool events, rooms to explore, crazy people partying etc. And the different places on the map were populated with players. And I liked the decorating you could do with your apartment, and there were enough coin items to do something with a room. And there was a lot of excitement surrounding new releases and collectibles, because the new releases were only every month or so, and everything was well designed and high quality. I miss noobs being everywhere, people who were not too stuck-up to talk and party, have a good time, explore events, and easy to make friends with.

Now all my friends are gone. There are hardly any events now, and the people at the events are all rude to me or ignore me and no one wants to hang out. And everyone is so focused on their outfits, instead of experiencing a virtual world with other people, it's just all about clothes and how mean you can be-- there was plenty of this in the old days but its all we have now. So that is boring to me, and I hardly ever log in now. The furniture and homes they make now are just not good, everything looks flat and sort of blurry, I cant put my finger on what exactly is different now but its like the furniture doesn't have the same 3D aspect it used to, and I don't like paying for stuff that is low quality. I'm sure I'm an outlier on this part but I think the gem events thing is stupid waste of time and resources and they could stop wasting so much resources on that and instead do some advertising so we can get some new players. We need noobs around here, it makes it more fun. Everyone that is left are all old players who only care about hair and eyes etc and not playing yoville hanging out with friends.

So the game needs new players, but if I was a new player I probably would not stay unless there can be more players, different kinds of players and not just the old rich ones, most of which are no fun at all.

IF I were a new player playing this game this is how it would look like: ( With a sense of humor here and there )

As much as I joke around about the situations that occur, these are ALL events based on my own experiences or from what I've been told throughout the years.

As for any game, there are "free items" but you don't go as far than if you would when you spend IRL $. One could argue that game developers need money. sure. No doubt at all whatsoever. There just has to be balance and moderation. ( and developing the game.. I've played games like Graal and even after 10+ years, they change their map and yes, it's hard to earn but it's for nostalgia mostly )

To begin,

:star: Been playing since Zynga days. People I know were obsessed with Farmville. Farmville brought us to Yoville, Cityville, Happyville and all those other Flash games from before. ( I've played pretty much everything Zynga had + a lot more ) Yoville was for decorating houses + Dressing up your avatar while Farmville was obviously in the setting of a farm. :haha:

:star: I'm originally a 09 player. I might not act like it sometimes ( most times actually :haha: ) but that's exactly that. I never took this game too seriously ( So the gatekeepers make themselves look silly and all of them should know that )

:star: Been hosting + playing through the events for like 10+ years. ( Entry fees used to exist :haha: )

:star: I have 400+ YoMoto Master ( aka Speedway ) wins and I know someone has like 1-10k+ wins there. In other words, I've already experienced the entirety of the map.

:star: A couple of years ago, I saw a player running around the map with all of their badges unlocked. The DEDICATION of that player is truly amazing.

:phone: What would I do If I was new? :phone:
Note: Most of these things I actually did back then. It's funny.

#1 - Press random buttons and hope for the best. Yup. That's it. :haha:

#2 - Open map and start pressing random locations. Then ask myself, "Is this my house? Why can't I have my house here? What do you mean this isn't my house, what did I pay for??" ( This is a joke )

#3 - Go to factory to earn coins then wonder why Bob is paying me less than the minimum wage for my obvious hard work that I obviously spent so much time doing.

#4 - Go home because I'm tired of being homeless. Then realize that I don't even have a bed to sleep on. So I open the furniture store then ultimately decide that the free bed was a decent option.

#5 - Drive myself to the jobs to earn more coins because I'm tired of being broke in this game. Dance with random avatars and wonder why it's taking 10 minutes for the entire room to load.

#6 - After all the sweat and tears of working hard on a 9-5, I open up the event button. ( ooh scary! I know ) Enter a event and wonder why like 30-50+ players have the same silly nametag. Then ultimately get kicked out for saying something that potentially offended them and because you can't "sit with them" since you're not a part of one of the "cool kids" :haha: ( Most of us have been here before, don't lie. Whether you're the one kicking or on the other side, I can't. Too funny )

#7 - Go to Paris, France to visit the most famous tourist attraction site Eiffel towers on the game. SORRY! I meant Alton towers. Though, there's too many people huddled in the door, all waiting to take photos alongside the towers. Next time, you should probably take your bestie.

#8 - Buy a dog. Then realize that you DID NOT buy a dog but a plush stuffed animal version of a dog. Then you buy an actual dog and the dog be eating your cash! That's no dog.. That's a CASH COW.

#9 - After being tired of looking broke, you decide that you want to customize your avatar to make it look like you or a fantasy version of what you would want to be. Then you realize that you wasted 5+ hours looking at every single category because you do not know what the names of the items are and that you only bought a top, bottom, and shoes. That's when you decide that going bald is the BALDEST option. :haha:

#10 - So you go back to earning more coins so you can decorate or customize your avatar ( mostly because you're tired of being broke ). You realize that you can't do the visit bonus unless if you have buddies on the game. However, how do you add players who don't want to be added?

Then this entire cycle repeats! ( Look at us! We've been doing it for 10+ years. Help me.. :haha: )

Hiya :bye:

I'm going to report this for you, just in case it's a glitch as with daily play, doing buddy visits, participating in the GEs and buying YC (which you clearly have done) that should have put you in a good position for a level 50 unlock

Hope they unlock you soon! :rose:

All of this is on point!!!... They are just pure Lazy (Most the times because they are FAKE accounts), wants everything free, begs, repetitively keeps asking, lies and some YO's fall for their crap. Us smarter players know they're fake accounts and it smells of it with their events, always starts out I'm new level 4, or one of my favors is "God Bless you", lol, like God has anything to do with this game. I BLOCK them all, and only gift or help players I trust, not a panhandler who is lying so they don't have to spend their money to gain an Item or even play.

Anyway, I couldn't even imagine starting to play this game now because of how much you have to spend. Also, all the restriction that a new player has on wanting, but I do understand some of the reasons for that, too much ALT's handing over their goods to their second, third, fourth, fifth etc. account was out of hand.

I just realize this is an older thread, lol... Oh well all still true :haha:

If I were a new player I would expect less houses and more furniture and most of all not the same things with different colors, more variety of themes.

ok first
this is an older post for some reason its arisen from the depths
not that it matters as there have been some changes to the game anyway
MORE coins by doing jobs for one way more than I ever got
4 themes per month now , not as much to put in a house but if you are new and playing for free you'd only get the free home anyway and thats only two rooms

Also I did try that other game High ____ ( wont say the entire name )
It loaded faster but no way to make coins that I could find, around 300 coins per day is all you can make for free , that game really IS pay to play
I couldn't find the store to buy clothes or a furniture store either , only player made events and games ..it took me a week of gameplay to find the stores.
It also has voice but they were speaking Russian and everyone I came across was a tween kid.

YoWorld is WAY easier to navigate with big fat icons at the bottom of the screen
lots more coin to be made and its easy to find the forums and tutorials are simple and specific
The player base is older on Yo and even tho a lot type in diff languages in public areas they're not rude about it

Sorry but I'm not BVG and yes there are multiple other threads asking the same question
why bump this older post, a post that doesn't answer your question but your question proves the point being made on it?
I'm confused I have a headache and really trying here ......

I remember when I was a new player back in December of 2014 I believe I was so confused on how everyone had these great looking hairs... then some kind soul gifted me my first hair which I still have to this day. I remember enjoying going through all the outfits and going on a spending spree to get the outfits I wanted. My first home the Apartment we all get when we joined I remember trying to decorate it in my style and finding out how much I enjoyed decorating but getting disappointed because some items I couldn't get unless I had YoCash, at the time it was hard for me to get YoCash because I didn't know how to even get YoCash but I finally figured it out. I believe when people use my link they actually go to my first home the Apartment but I'm not entirely sure. Now I have way way way too many homes... it's like an addiction for me LOL I gotta buy homes and decorate them then I gotta buy another and decorate that one! I met some really cool people on here that even though I don't know them in real life I feel like I've known them forever. Some people aren't on here anymore, like Nick, and I often wonder how they're doing. I hope new players come on here and find it enjoyable like I do.
