I'm starting to get a touch bothered by this game seeming to force players to do things to participate. By that I mean, the hard push to switch from FB to the web base. At least we get something extra from playing on the .com version at night. Now you want to make us join Discord or we'll miss out on something. Hard pass here.

I cant figure out discord, I sent a message with my player ID to post but still cant, thinking i did something wrong. I had discord for a different
game years ago, and never really used it then.

I joined Discord in the beginning and don't have a clue about how to use it and I am NOT new to chat formats - used to be on the old Microsoft stuff. There is indeed too much discord that rises up in me when I try to make sense of that site.

Something big is coming? I hope it's not the closure of the forums. I think that would alienate many longtime players, and the population of YoWorld would see a marked decline.

I think there may also have been a mention about something big coming during the anniversary when we were getting coins at Alton's. Perhaps the same "something big"?

The forums have stood me well thus far, and I've no real interest in joining Discord w/out some serious (positive) motivation.

I'd like an acceptable explanation from the Vikings as to WHY this "something big" is only going to be if you become a member of Discord. Who at BVG thought this was a good idea & would sit well with the players? Seriously....BVG, you already screwed up royally for the Anniversary month, do you really think doing something that will exclude most players right now is a good idea?

Exactly, and using Andrew's logic, not many players are on Discord so it really doesn't matter how immediate & direct you can communicate on there is, very few will see it. Jade is right, we get in game pop ups for everything else, why not use THAT as immediate & direct communication?.

Thank you for a direct answer Andrew. I still don't think you guys are realizing how badly doing whatever it is by requiring players to go anywhere other than the game, especially to Discord is. Players on the whole are extremely salty over last month & especially those "super challenges". Just scan through this thread...I did, the overall response is not positive.

This isn't something that we can communicate in-game. It requires us to be able to converse directly with people.

Ok ok yes many sites track us James. But maybe this analogy will hit home. We all know that if you get into a car crash, you could get hurt. Does that mean you never get into a car?, no. HOWEVER, you DON"T get into a car with no brakes & faulty equipment. Discord is the car with no brakes & faulty equipment.
