When I read the OP, the first person I thought of was LISATM cuz for a long time player she takes the time always to post issues in detail without insulting. She has taken the time to type out long posts over issues detailing each and every issue. I always liked that of her and admired her love of the game to actually take the time like she does to post. IF she was interested in such a task to become a council member I would definitely Nominate LisaTM  :D

Awe! Thank you for the mention! I am VERY flattered by this. It's something I normally would love to take part in, but RL has been dealing me some lemons lately and I don't think I have the energy or focus right now to do the job. My schedule is really wonky too, so Idk if I'd be available when needed. I didn't apply for these reasons. Hopefully, if it ends up being helpful and successful and they are always recruiting, I can apply in the future.

I hope those who genuinely have the passion and can be impartial and objective are selected for this. I have concerns about that among other things, but I don't want to delve into that. I guess we'll have to see how this plays out.

In a complex social decorating game like this it's important for anyone on this committee to be COMMUNITY MINDED and think about what is best for the game, or we will find ourselves still wallowing in the mess that has been made out of this game.

Please, every yo, think long and hard. And you community minded selfless ones, who want fun for all, please consider stepping up and make a difference. I'd love nothing better than to turn this death spiral we're on around, and return Yo to the amazing game it once was before those Big Changes rolled our in 2015 that brought us here.

Someone please, save Yo!!
This game was a good friend to all, a friend we all miss every day.

Agree with everything you said and I volunteered. I would not expect to be chosen and have no illusions about that but I do feel I could do the job well. I am beholden to no one in here.

This idea was floated around TWICE before and was an utter and complete disaster when both Zynga tried years back as well as most recently with BVG...

Both times the failures resulted in way too many overinflated egos and 'power players' playing with an expanded kindergarten playground sand box mentality...

Simple facts...

Hey Andrew... how broad is the community? How many players play the game? It would be nice to know how many active players the game has

We're thrilled to announce a new initiative that's all about bringing your voice directly into the heart of YoWorld's future: The YoWorld City Council!

We believe that the best way to make YoWorld even more amazing is to build it with you, our incredible players. The YoWorld City Council is a dedicated group of 10 community-voted players who will serve as a vital link between you and our team. Their purpose? To represent the broader YoWorld community and provide invaluable feedback on upcoming changes and updates to the game.

There is a lot of feedback here in the forum, every theme you ask for it.

There was also a big kerfuffle about lack of male clothing items and items for males in general. Designers threatened to hold back any designs until more male items were made. Nothing has changed, still very very little is made for the male players.

There was the kerfuffle and nothing changed. If this City Council recommend more male items (players, both male and female, have been asking but have been ignored) what will be different with an added City Council?

With X amount of players in the game.. how many are actually aware of the City Council idea? No mention of it in the game, only here... maybe on discord, I don't know, I don't go there... A lot, I mean a lot (this place is the extreme vocal minority as said by BVG) a lot of players will not come to the forum. I have tried to get people to participate in contests, and they do not want to come to the forum. They surely do not go on Discord.

How are they represented at all with the City Council?

Hi LisaTM, happy you were not upset with my 'being forward'... but I do read your posts and how much effort and thought and detail that goes into them, not to mention the time... So I totally get that RL gets in the way of game time, ( as it should) Priorities come first.

I wish them luck... as we did our Forum Mods' who in the beginning was boo hoo'd.. but all ended up just fine. I think! lol... I doubt that it will change my game play.. so let the ball roll where it may...

This is a grand undertaking for sure! I salute you for doing something to try to build a community bridge. There are so many elements that need to be in place for this to work efficiently. The leadership all have to be on board and aware of who will be doing what. The go-betweens (between leadership and the group and between the group and the community) will need to be individuals who are not tasked with too much else to do already. And the group itself will need fair minded, open-minded leadership and people ready and willing to embrace co-operative values and see beyond self-centered goals that are not for the greater good. Not to mention, the group should be truly representative of the community at large. All these things are tasks unto themselves. I'm not saying this cannot work... as all things are possible. However, it will take a whole new level of transparency and good intention moving forward for this to work both internally and externally. Not to mention having balancers in the group to keep things moving forward, always keeping the larger goal in mind.

I wish you guys the best of success with this, as I know it is attempted with community in mind. :rose:

I don't know what Beamer is.

I hope that whoever is chosen that there is no pay, no benefit, nothing given. They should have no benefit, nothing to gain or lose by doing this.

They should not be rewarded with benefit or punished.

Fear of punishment can change a person . .... Fear of losing benefit does the same.

YoWorld City Council: Shortlist & Voting Begins Soon!

First off, we want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who applied for the inaugural YoWorld City Council! We were absolutely blown away by the number of applications and the passion you all showed for the game. It's truly inspiring to see such a dedicated community.

We've been diligently reviewing every application, and (very) soon we'll be announcing the shortlist of candidates who will move on to the next stage. This is where you come in! Once the shortlist is revealed, you'll have the power to vote for the players you want to represent you on the City Council. Your votes will be a major factor in determining who joins this important new program.

The shortlist has been determined on a few different factors, such as community engagement, making sure diverse viewpoints are covered, and also based on the answers submitted and completeness of the application. While sadly not every single application received was able to make the shortlist, we are happy to provide an extensive shortlist of amazing players who have demonstrated their passion for, and commitment to, YoWorld and its community.

While community voting will be the main driver, we will also be hand-selecting a few council members after voting has concluded. This is to ensure we have a truly diverse group that covers all aspects of our community. We want to ensure a balance of everything from veteran players to newer faces, players from different parts of the world, and those who love decorating versus those who are all about dressing up. Our goal is to fill any potential "blind spots" and create a well-rounded council that accurately reflects the richness of the YoWorld community.

Get ready to cast your votes and help shape the future of YoWorld!

Thanks Viking Mike

I wish you would just draw names out of a hat and switch it up every 4 to 6 months just to keep any one person from possible power grabs ....having seen what is currently happening globally I'm not sold on elections

the testing panel however is a great idea .... filtering my ideas for the game through another player however is pretty darn insulting to me. LOL so I would expect you will continue to see my slightly and really trying to be all sweet and what not - but I dont do duplicity well. Sorry, frustrated it is going to come off short sighted and harpy LOL such is life, just one of my character defaults requiring endless personal growth, no doubt

Wish yah all well -- cant wait to see what youre bringing :) LOL anyone want to offer bribes?? lol bribe away....bribes are ok, right?? LOL

For sure! The YoWorld City Council is design to supplement our current feedback systems, not replace them. We are still going to be assessing all feedback submitted through our Feedback Form, posted on the forums, in Discord, and submitted to us via tickets.
