I used to "Pay if forward" till it was scary to be out and about. Now I am back at the towers and I attend events to help out the newbies... Sometimes I get kicked for looking too rich..LOL I have gifted many a menorah hats and limes in the last few days so I am a happy player. This game has become "FUN" again .. Pay it Forward...

Having gone to vocational school for retail and then been in a dual studies program to be a senior trading assistant,we were taught, too, not to judge a potential customer by what they wear, the way they look or what type of car they parked in front of our store.
I go by that rule,in YoWorld as well.
The only thing that makes me kick a person from my event is if they are rude/mean .
Usually I give one or 2 warnings before kicking,to give them a chance to straighten their behavior.

I go to events where they state they are new. But my inventory takes a while to load because of all the stuff, it scares them and I get Kicked. ..and here I was going to give them 100k .. I wish they would give me a warning... :)

Ah,I see we have the same problem with the inventory.
I usually try to tell people before trading to not give up on me and wait until I insert something into the trade before they do. However some still are scared I may be up to no good.

I've never understood the whole " NOOB" thing, we used to be newbies and welcomed into the game now the word is like an insult. I can only presume that the " Get as rich as you can so you can feel superior" attitude of some people sparked this off.
Although, I really don't like fake noobs begging for coins

And glad to see you finally put a robe on ... I mean there is dressing like a noob and then there is just not dressing at all (i.e. being in your underwear).

We all work on commission. One day a vagrant looking person walked in to the store carrying a big brown bag. We work on UP system, we put our names on the list & whoever is up have to take a person coming in next....every sales person just had to go to the bathroom or back room or any place but to help that lady, they did not want to give her a time of day, so to speak. I was new at that time so they told me it was my turn... to make a long story short, she had $100.000.00 in cash in that brown bag & she spented with me, my commission was $7000, that week.
You can see the way my avatar look, I spend all my coins & yc on decorating not outfits. And I can't tell you how many times I been thrown out of events even before I have a chance to say HI. Like that lady in my story I do have quite a few coins... So be nice to so called noob looking avatar, yes some of them are beggars, but there is a large group, who are just like me, with tons of coins to spend. So it would be YOUR LOSS when you kick people out :D

This is a great story!!
I agree 100%. You truly can't judge a book by it's cover.
Some sellers in this game should seriously take note of this.

Great story and I agree. Don't be so fast to judge. You never know who can become a great buddy in this game if you brush someone off for wearing "noob" clothing. I wear what I like in the moment, whether it be my expensive 08 costumes or a bunch of noob inexpensive pieces thrown together. Just ignore those who put people down, they're not worth your time of day anyway!

Not only to noobs. Dressed as I am now I have been thrown out of events. I went to one that had an in-ground pool which was a very rare item until yesterday and the owner jsut kicked me. Too bad that it is in stores and he lost on a few coins, lol.

i have gifted pets the new hairs to new players at the towers. they need to remove the daily gift limit to gift out to more players. it goes both ways newbies should not call older players greedy. some of the newbies forget to say ty

I try to be nice to everyone.
And if I"m not busy being nice I stay silent because not every conversation is for me. So it goes.

I'm a little less nice to the new crop of beggars, particularly the ones who are very clearly lying, and who do they end up with staying at their events? Other new people who either decide it's cool to beg or give the untruthful beggar THEIR very few coins, which makes it harder on the nicer type of new people and the cycle perpetuates.
So I block those people because I feel there's a chance when they 'grow up' to higher levels their behavior will basically stay the same, or worse.

And even then I try to be cordial. But standard new people, bring 'em on. The few times I'm social I'm nice to anybody
