Nope.

Adeline (113719515) wrote:It is my understanding that to view what is going on in the game, you need to be signed in. Therefore, anything I am doing in there is visible only to those signed in. I believe this should be set up the same way. I don't need the world, for instance knowing if I have or do not have a gold supporter badge. I do not need those who have been banned to know my thoughts about banning or anything else involving me. I have no idea if anyone is interested in my comings and goings on here but I would feel better if I knew that only those willing to commit themselves by signing in and being known are viewing what I am saying and doing. In game we interact with many people - most of whom, it seems do not post here. I can understand their need to see the rules and any game updates but in my opinion they do not need to see if I am - purely for example sake - getting along with Samberg.
Perhaps more would become part of this community if they had to sign in to read what is written here. I would love to see more here. I would love to see a more complete and therefore realistic view of what the players think and feel.
We are almost inbred.

It is their choice to stay out of here.

You have to be a YoWorld player to join the forum, right? So, in effect, this is already a "private" group??

Ok, we have heard the nays. How about why the nay? What would it hurt to make it private? Just doing a bit of devil's advocate here.
Why should they who chose to stay out have the right to read?

Smitten, I don't know if that is true or not.

I remember seeing it too and used it in the first few days but can't find it now. Maybe they took it off. :?:

I could understand if you're concerned about let's say, a husband seeing your Gold status and you having concerns that he'll know you've spent $50 + dollars a month. But, this issue doesn't apply to most forumers. You could also take steps to hide your gold status, not post about the money you've spent, not post at all.

More importantly, if there's any cost incurred in the already over stretched $150,000 monthly budget to do this, I'd definitely say no. We want to keep the game alive, not add to an inability to turn a profit.

So I don't really see why this is necessary.

You can find this forum if you search it on the web. You need to be signed in only if you're posting. ;)

I don't think it would hurt it to be private.. I just think they should be concentrating on the game.. making items, fixing issues... making money ...

but if you prefer they work on the forums..

I used to wish the Yoworld community group was private because it broadcasted everytime i posted to my friends... I cant see where this forum should be private. We talk about a game not our private lives. Sometimes, if I want to start playing a new game, i research by reading the forums. this would cut off that for a few.
I think it would be extra work for not much benefit personally, but if it were to happen, i would not be that bothered.

Cause it should be a choice to be anonymous ;) I liked the old forum too where I could be hidden if I choose.

I did post my reasoning. Basically it would be for privacy and to possibly encourage others who want to view to sign on and maybe if they signed on they would participate.

I in no way want to slow Big V down from getting the game the way it should be.

I am so confused about this privacy concern. The anonymity seems private enough to me  Forcing players to sign in to know what's up with Yo will end up in them either just ignoring whatever is written here and play along, or read and sign out. Like we don't have enough lurkers.

I haven't noticed many players missing from the old forum though. Everyone is here and accounted for pretty much. Nor is anyone complaining about not wanting to post due to a need for privacy. So it seems like it's not an issue to the majority? And if it costs money, why do it?
