I loved having the time, up to 2 months to really enjoy a theme, decorate and be creative. It felt so much more satisfying that this "throw away" world we live in now.
Anyhow just saying hi

I barely pay attention to the new stuff any more. What I learn about it I mostly learn in here or by visiting decorated rooms. I'll not be driven by events or specials or mysteries or anything outside of what I want to do and when I want to do it.
I wish BVG would take the time to make things special again. They've fallen for the same trap that Zynga did early in 2012. They push to keep people engaged, rather than risk losing them by allowing them to get bored and hungry for more. So they stuff us with crap until it feels like standing in front of a firehose. And then we get numb or burned out because it is just too much.
And that's the truth of it.

very true... there are zero items in the game released now that have that special feeing... the exclusives are not special... to be blunt, they are just high priced CRAP(in general) with a shiny title.
there is no excitement because they are not only crappy items but they are every month and there is no surprise or anticipation. BVG does many things well but causing excitement and anticipation are not among their strengths. its just gotten stale. since the game took over.. i was only excited 2 times....1. when BVG announced they had bought the game from Zynga. 2. when they promised us yo.com and said it was only 2 months away from being released.....then ripped it out of my grasp........
actually, maybe 3 as the clothing layering was pretty exciting at 1st as well

i started early 09 and remember seasonal and holiday type releases (winter, valentine's 09, st pats etc), a few themes .. i had no idea if there was any pattern or regularity to releases but i must admit i was clueless
