People can debate things without resorting to an attack on a person's character. :)

I'll bump this up in case anyone needs to read it :)

the problem with this is, that some people see disagreeing as a personal attack. Or if more than one person disagrees, its a gang. when people stop feeling this way, then it will be easier to get along.

Well I'm sure that Gary or whoever can distinguish which is which. I'm sure they're not going to ban someone for just an opinion. There's a big difference in an opinion and an attack on someone. So i'm sure they'll see what's what.

There a big difference in an opinion vs an attack despite how many people are involved in the debate. There are people that have a hard time differentiating the meaning of this and thus wolf gets cried and grievances arise for those deemed bullies irrationally.

The difference between disagreements and personal attacks:

Disagreement: Person 1. I think the new glasses are hideous.
Person 2. I think they are awesome.
Person 1. I guess we can agree to disagree

Personal attack: Person 1. I think the new glasses are hideous.
Person 2. I think they are awesome
Person 1. You have no taste (personal attack)
Person 2. You always look like your mother dressed you. (personal attack).

etc.etc.etc.etc. Anytime you bring someones personality, looks, ethnicity, etc. into a disagreement its a personal attack. Hope this helps.

Well maybe some don't understand the difference but I'm sure most do. And as I said Gary or whoever has to look at the report will be able to tell. If it's just a bunch of people debating and there's no personal attack or whatnot. They're not going to ban for that. They know what they're doing :)

It's basically someone being coy and not coming right out and saying something but putting enough

No different than putting a worm on a hook and seeing what bites. ;) If'n you know what I mean? :)

Baiting is a message posted to a public forum with the intent of provoking an angry response or argument over a topic. The "troll" (original poster provoking angry response) has no real interest in, and finds humour, or entertainment in reactions. When the person creating the topic actually has an interest in it, it is not considered baiting.

Yes Pete, you are correct. Posting something that creates debate isn't trolling or baiting. It's the intent behind it that differentiates the two.

Maybe it is just me, but I do not see the 'personal attack' as banworthy or worth losing your acct for saying. I really hope that is not all it takes...... should there be other ways to say those things, yeah, but come on people! if THIS (in bold) really hurts your feelings...........

Mind as well no one post on forums because of alot of immaturity, as for the posts or opinions between others, that IMO is not banworth At All.

No what I posted probably isn't banworthy, I was just trying to illustrate the difference between a personal attack and a disagreement. Sorry if it was confusing.

Please PM me in advance of this momentous occasion if indeed you feel the desire to call it quits and call Samberg an idiot. I'd like to get a screen shot in the event that the occasion gets hotly disputed by selective memory some time down the track.
