09 player here

Invested a ridiculous amount of real money

A few ago I had saved 48 million. So I went on a shopping spree: two sailors ( one for me, one for daughter) mafia items, high school hairs, YMA hairs, High school clothing... Auction house was new, I am an impatient person who love shopping, I even willingly overpaid for a few with the buy now button.... not long I was down to 2 million.

Few months later (and I dare to saw weeks) ... it was all re-released!

BUT I didnt mind rereleases then. I still dont mind them now. It was a bit disappointing to see the coins wasted but I was always aware these were pixels belonging to Zynga and they could do whatever they wanted with them ( at the time I feared a closing, not a rerelease). Instead of complaining, I had a blast stocking on what I missed and spend a whole lot more! I really enjoyed the rereleases!

I voted NO now and it was not for the items or the money. Is because rerelases bring a wave of whining, complains, debates and fight on forum, in game events, and facebook I just despise. Its completely annoying and makes me hate humanity.

prices have dropped drastically in the last 2 weeks, banning almost 600 accounts took a lot of coins out of the game, specially since probably 50% of those were coin sellers with coins destined to be sold on paypal which drives prices even higher...the best way to stabilize the economy is simply for every single person to stop buying coins/items via paypal.. it all boils down to coin sellers in the end.
they flood the market with cheap coins resulting in prices skyrocketing. rereleasing wont fix that, they would simply move on to collectibles. players need to take responsibility and stop expecting bvg to fix everything, we need to do our part as well.

I'm with ya. The only theme I wanted rereleased was Beach Party... Solely for the cattails and kitchen appliances! :D

Re-releases are good for the game, you need to look past your greed and virtual wealth. Sometimes you need to take one for the team, if there was going to be a time to do this, this is it.

I'm not so sure about this. I don't think it's a good thing. Not if it means bleeding out players because they are so upset they'll throw in the towel. And when I say players, I mean honest players who bought one item here or there because they thought it was special. I don't mean those that scam their way along or buy a zillion of something in hopes it'll be worth something. Part of the fun of the game to many is buying a item on whim and finding out no one else did and it's rare and special because of it. To drop it all back in to the system is upsetting to many. Especially older players that supported the game for years on end with their dollars and time. Yes the economy is a mess here, but giving all to everyone who didn't hang in the trenches and earn it doesn't seem right. And for the record, I have some valuable items, and I'm not now nor have I ever been greedy. These are pixels, I know them for what they are and have no delusions and they in no way define me or my self worth. That being said, I don't see why I should take one for the team. I was here when Greg created this game, sold it, and now BVG owns it again. I've seen the full circle, and I've seen what re-releases do to the player base. It's not a good thing.

Well said, Arcane. Thank you. I wish people would stop trying to influence BigV into doing this.

What people don't take into account is the fact that these accounts also had lots of items in them. It may take some time for people to figure out but some things will become much more difficult to find now which will result in those prices either going up even higher than they were or back to the level they were 2 weeks ago.

Some items in this game might actually become affected by supply and demand basically.

Yo has always been buyer beware - you knew when you payed a big price for something there were few promises.

I always feel badly when people equate their fun to their Yo wealth - the joy for me is in the having, not the worth of the item I have.

But we are all different, but if you truly loved Yo I could never see anyone leaving over releasing things that have been hacked or unreleased - I think that if BVG would develop that policy you would find that much of our black market activity would dry up. Re-releases could have the same effects and would be a very supportive part of keeping our new population of players.

i would love to see them release the items that are valued way to high. like the celtic cross or the old bow. items like this that have gone way to high in value. I have a few of these items myself that i would not part with but i think everyone should own them and not have to work so hard to get them I have worked on mine for years to get. Dont plan on selling mine so I dont care of everyone owns them.

Re-release is a great idea in my book

Why not just release all the themes so people will shut up about it. :P

Or BVG can start releasing new items/ collectibles, thus devaluing the price of older items.

New items wont affect the price of older items. As the older items form part of the foundation of the current yoconomy it is the value of the older items that needs to be destroyed in order to reshape the current day yoconomy.

There is a very real and alive plutocracy in yoworld consisting of people who believe that their own personal self interest is in the best interest of everyone else.

Plutocrats have been condemned for ignoring their social responsibilities, using their wealth to serve their own purposes and thereby increasing poverty and nurturing class conflict, corrupting societies with greed and hedonism

- Wikipedia

Class conflict, greed, hedonism, corrupted society, sounds just like Yoworld to me.

That is exactly why people post subjects like this. They are trying to wear BigV down. I think we should all stop posting on these topics. Remember, those who keep bringing this topic up, usually sold their items or never had them in the first place.

And what reason do you give for it, Maria!

I watched the kiddies beg, plead, spam and take over the Yoville forum with topics like this. I don't want to see it again.

No, that does not solve the problem. I am concerned about the game, about BigV making their investment back and all of us going forward successfully. Hiding my head in the sand and not speaking out for what I believe is right is cowardice and if I did it, I would have no recourse but to go along with whatever happens. That is not who I am.
