- YoWorld Forums > YoWorld Discussions > I WAS Hacked, AND BVG SAID THEY CANT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE(R)
Garrett (10025343) wrote:[Slightly long read, but it's worth it to know how "safe" you really are]
On June 11, I logged onto Yoworld and say that my 4 million in coins, 44 yc, hair, 08 (rerelease costumes), and a few other items worth a lot of money were gone. I tried to remain calm, and I immediately asked what to do on Yoworld's facebook page, they told me how to get help.
So, I sent the help request, sent every detail of what I could remember, and sent the request. After a long week of waiting, I get this response back,
EDITED OUT
First off, they say they DO NOT review trades or transactions between other players, so who are they even protecting in regards of scams? They said G4G is bad and they wont give back items you sent (which they shouldn't, only people who love getting scammed do that), and the same for the obvious double-your-money scam (If you fall for that when you have millions to trade, you probably deserve it...).
Still, if they don't record anything, what use are they? What other scams are there? My account was literally hacked by someone across the world (maybe using keyloggers...Idk) I changed my password 3 times the night before I was hacked because fb said someone from India/and Turkey tried to access my account. My password was 15 words long (and believe you me, it was NOT a word/numbers anyone would ever think of). Back to the point, if THIS doesn't count as a scam that they can reimburse you, then what does?
Also, I find it insulting they give tips after saying they can't do anything saying not to give out my password...I haven't been playing for 5 years and made millions by giving out my flippen password!
Long story short, I don't think BVG cares about us at all (regarding being hacked...They at least care enough to try to make the game better, and I give them credit for that) because I just lost 5 years of everything worth anything to me, and they just plead the 5th on the subject. There is no yojustice. I lost everything worth anything to me, the player wasn't banned, and I don't know what else to say other than I'm just going to quit because I get depressed every time I logged on to see if I got my stuff back or a type of ransom to get at least something back from whoever may have scammed me.

I didn't do anything "risky" and I haven't since I started playing 5 years ago. And how do you see nothing wrong with their response, they literally said they cannot and will not do anything to help me. I was hacked; I didn't give out my password, I didn't click on any strange sites or links, and I don't know why you think their response is ok.
If it was you in a situation of being hacked, they wouldn't do anything either. I'm sorry for seeming rude, but I don't see how you can think this is ok.

it was not him who did the trades that transferred his items, coins and yc to another player.
why would this be considered a "trade" which could not be reversed if the stuff was stolen via someone hacking?
it seems Gary is saying Garrett traded and should have known better, whereas what i'm reading from Garrett, he had nothing to do with it, stuff was hacked. "Scammed" is not the right word for it.
i'm sure there is more to it, but i'd like to know that if there are holes in the system (being able to trade between accounts w/ same ip address) that allow this to happen to players who do nothing to endanger their security, that BVG would look into it more.

I agree, but I can also see Gary's point. What to keep me from sending you (or anyone) for that matter, my info to log into my FB account. Phone call. Email. Text. Whatever and then go to Gary and say, hey, I didn't do anything wrong and someone got into my account and took all my stuff. Now, Gary gives me back what was "stolen" and now between you and me, we have twice as much stuff and coins and yc. See what I mean?
I don't see how anyone can just abitrarely get into you account without some help, whether its knowingly or unknowingly. Somewhere, somehow, some kind of info was passed along to the person who did this. If this person can get into any account, why not get into one that has 100m coins and 1000yc and REAL costumes instead of re-released ones?

All they need to do is to track each stolen item's destination and put them back in his inventory.
I'm not 100% sure but I think, each item has a unique code. Like if I had 2 mississippi pianos, they would have different codes like;
mississipipianoitem67896x05 and mississipipianoitem87496x023 so I can track that specific item's whole journey in yoworld ever since it was first bought from the store. Who bought, who sold, who gifted, who transferred to whom, how many times...etc etc

When I said Gary gives me back, I should have said, Gary replaces.........you got my stuff. I got new stuff. Now we have double stuff......lol......anyways, it was done to Garrett, no matter how and it seems it has been or will be corrected somewhat, so Karma is a beach.........lol...whoever did this will pay in the end.
Gary Stevenson wrote:Garrett (10025343) wrote:Can you look into it though? It's hardly buyers remorse when I lost everything worth anything, and only had 20 coins (I'm assuming there were 2 trades, in which the other party put in 10c per trade).
I mean, there is no way that could just be considered buyers remorse (putting in millions, and rare items for 10c). He also spent all of my yc...can you at least look into that? If I can't get my stuff back, fine...I'll deal with it, but you have to take this person down! He's definitely going to do it again if unchecked...I don't want another person to lose everything and decide to quit because of it...At least not from this guy because I can do something about it.
Buyers remorse is an example of why the policy was enacted, not any commentary on your situation. We will absolutely be looking into the person you mentioned. we just can't retrieve anything from their account.
