In order to get a badge, you have to go a step further than playing the game only. That's if your goal is to get a badge.

I don't mind people I knowing I spend money here and there, what I did mind was people knowing the amount I was spending.

If you look at most avi's it is easy to tell most people have supported the game at one point or another, simply based upon the clothing they are wearing.
