And I'm not a fan of a guide to jack what they like and just low ball the rest while it sits and collects dust from 4+ years ago on their guide.

Samberg (185737325) wrote:Just a general question for those against pricejacking...

What are your thoughts on someone, obviously me, offering 1m coins for an item that the bible thinks is only like 60k?

Now what do you think about the fact that there are still no sellers to be found at 1m?

Does that maybe give you some pause and thought that maybe the bible is just full of it and following it isn't in your best interest?

Well, if I was sitting on a very nice 100m in my account like some players, I would probably be very comfortable with todays price jacking and I would be able to offer high prices for an item I really want urgently. However, this attitude gives damage to the poorer players.

Like for example, lets say an item is listed as 300k on bible and thats the actual going price on those days. A poor player sets that as a goal item and starts saving for it. Then suddenly a few rich players offer around 2m for the same item because they suddenly want it ASAP. Seeing from them, more people want it too. So sellers raise the price more. Here you go. The item is jacked and the other one who had been working hard to bring 300k together, gets doomed.

That's why prices should be more less stable. For rich, nothing changes they become even richer after each jacked item. But for average and poor players, it mostly becomes a yo-nightmare. Will this stop the rich from offering more? No. But this is what happens and the reason why many players are against price jacking.

About other issue, when you are over paying and still no sellers... it means either;
-the item is really rare so very few ppl have it,
-or those who have it just dont want to part with it,
-or you are being so unlucky that none of the potential sellers is on at the same time with you,
-or by coincidence non of them see your threads or events.

That's what I think.

I was looking at the priceguides and some of the prices are so far out of whack that i would never consider using them for setting prices. It is my item so if i decide on a price, thats what it is. If it doesnt sell, i have to reconsider. either I need to not sell it or reduce my prices. No matter what, its MY choice. If you feel the price is too high, you move on to another seller. If you cant find it for a price that you feel comfortable with, then you have to reevaluate your choices... you can decide to pay more or do without the item. This is why i like the auction house. I put it out there for my price and people can buy or not and I dont have to argue about prices in events.

If anyone feels that a price for an item is "off whack", we have a page on Facebook, where you can submit items and what you have sold them for. We will be more than happy to look into them for you guys. :)

Well if you don't like their price then don't buy their item, i'm sure you will can find better deals if you look around.

It's their item their price not all the people follow priceguides so you can't really say to a person what price they should put since they own the item, it's their choise and your choise if you are willing to pay for it or no.

Your eyes are definitely painted on because you will not find our Agents buying up items and changing prices. There is a process they have to go through to even change a price.

I have learned, from a very long time ago, not to trust any price guide.. period... the 'my item my price' works.. and works well..

if you did not buy the item from the store, when it was in the stores (for whatever reason, poor, busy, out of town, computer issues... whatever)
if you did not buy an item from the store, and you want someone to sell you that item.. best be prepared to either pay the price.. or search and wait till you find your right price..

but I don't think anyone needs a price guide to tell them what an item is worth to them .. your item, your price...

"Your item, your price"...

I always respond : Your event, your offer....

It`s not like we had time to think of a price while we saw the event pop up nor did we intend to sell it in the first place... They had time to think of a price otherwise they would not have made an event.

A price is set between what a buyer will pay to obtain the item and what a seller will take to let go of said item. Nobody else's business. Period.

if I was to ask any agent what the full sized excalibur was worth (and there is very few in game, was from the 1st hide and seek game, which was removed before many players had the chance to finish the task) what answer would be given?
