Meleagris (122131215) wrote:I am mainly a decorator for many years I didn't even hardly dress in anything but noob clothes. I'm not in the game to see how much money I can have, I'm in the game to decorate, anyone who doesn't believe that, I'll be glad to buddy you and let you see all my homes.
As I said earlier I don't believe the rereleasing of stuff is what caused the downfall of the game, I believe it was hackers and coin sellers. I also believe there should be a theme that stays in the store that has basic decorating items.
There will always be certain items that leave store that end up being good for decorating. When a theme leaves I (since I am a decorator) try to hoard up on those items. I also log in every day to see what is going on as far as items getting ready to leave so I can hoard those items. Even when I am on vacation I do this. I never gave up on the game and decided to sit out for months and months ... because I might miss something.
A lot of what is in store now and closed is themes already rereleased. And yes there are a few that were more recent and closed. I wish they would just remove them from store because they are clogging up things.
If they opened up stuff, well I would probably just buy more of certain things, being the hoarder that I am. If they don't open up then if I need something I don't have I'll look for it and sometimes I've had to wait a very long time to find an item I wanted.
There are still themes that can be bought from the store and some of them are very nice themes. I guarantee that when any of the currently opened themes are closed there will be those who will want those themes rereleased.
Are we going to have things constantly being rereleased? BVG said they aren't going to rerelease and they weren't totally ignorant about the game so they didn't make an uninformed decision. To say we only want the "ghost themes" rereleased and that's all, well that opens up the flood gates. If BVG does that for those who want the "ghost themes" rereleased then what about the people who want other themes rereleased, shouldn't they then get what they want also?
Personally I voted no, and in general I think rereleasing items is a bad idea. If BVG decides to do it, I will live with it. I'm in it for decorating and I can always decorate. I have a number of decorating projects that I can work on now to keep myself busy.

Well said Robot...the problem is that some mistake the thrill of the hunt and the process of trading and saving to obtain a goal as greed because for them fun is just getting what you want when you want it without any kind of challenge...just like the 5% of us who actually support the game buying and dealing Yocash are constantly accused of being Price-Jackers and greedy because those that don't spend their own money feel somehow entitled to decide the value of our real money for us...I said it in another thread.... since I have been watching all the posts and attitudes surrounding this issue I have decided that selling YoCash at a really low rate, although it may be nice for buyers, is not doing any favors for BVG or the game...I have pretty much decided to not bother dealing anymore and just keep the cash to myself...it was a good way to work towards goals but I think now that mostly we are just somewhat taken for granted in the game and after being painted with the same brush as hackers and cheaters I really don't feel the desire to help anyone get easily what I had to spend and save hard for.
What you are referring to in the beginning of your post is simply saving and no one ever said saving is greedy. The problem is within the last 2 years things have gone to in the k price range to the m price range. With that being said use a gas station for example. Our gas price fluctuates all the time. But, there are times when something happens over seas and gas companies start panicking and begin to price jack their prices at the pump. Is it fair to us? No! Do people start screaming price gouging? Yes! Are the companies forced to push their prices back down to what the surrounding gas stations are pretty much selling? Yes! No one forced you to buy Yocash, but you did because you liked some stuff and you wanted to be able to buy it.
Yes I think my opinion should be valued because everyone else wants their opinion valued in this game. Just because I haven't spent real money in the last month doesn't mean I haven't spent tons of money in the past, or that I won't in the future. It means nothing in the stores is of any interest to me or I have already bought what I wanted and again nothing else.appeals to me. I refuse to just buy Yocash to buy stuff that I don't want and try to sell it at a later time by making the price go up. I really not into spending tons on money and nothing of material value to show for it unless it's something that truly makes me happy. Also things don't go up in value 1000% higher in value in a matter of 2 years unless we are talking about the stock market and that doesn't even do that. 2012 items are being sold for almost a million if not more than a million which is absolutely ridiculous.
In regards to the comment about bvg making their statement. This argument has been said 10 times over. Some are posting and not reading this thread. Again, at the time the statement was made no one really made a defense as to whys they should be open. The ones screaming so much were the ones trying to make sure they could keep their millions safe. I'm sorry but selling 2 items that are worth 2 mill or so is not working hard to make money. It is you got lucky that someone was willing to pay that to either keep it or trying to sell it at a higher price.
You are right. Not everyone likes having to go to a thousand sales for one item or multiple items. I like to spend my time decorating not trying to find it.
People are also losing slight that this is a game and are trying way to much to compare it to reality.
Well where I live...the gas companies do not lower our gas prices no matter how much we scream about it. They do it when and if they are ready to and sometimes not for months on end. And now that the hackers and coin generators are gone from the game, the only people interested in protecting their millions are for the most part, people who spent real money to make them and likely saved quite a bit to buy those million coin items they might choose to sell in favor of getting something else with those coins instead. So while you are complaining people aren't valuing your opinion you are doing the same thing by not valuing that maybe the selling price of the million dollar item is not far off from what one might have paid for it in the first place because really you have no way to know. And yes this may well be a game, but for many of us, we have spent literally thousands of real dollars on it over the years buying things at whatever the current market dictates and yes that is our choice but the bottom line is that a reputable company is not going to drop the bottom out of our little investments just because others don't want to spend as much for them in game. BVG is working to bring the economy to a reasonable place now that they have rid the game of the cheaters and from what I am seeing it seems to be working. I had just purchased my last 08 costume when Zynga re-released them out of nowhere. It had taken me years to save and trade for them and poof...that was all my real money and effort spent just to watch people breeze in and buy them up in a single swoop with no effort and much less expenditure....hardly fair....people left the game in droves over that. Many of us end up decorating amazing rooms with aftermarket items we pay dearly for and certainly would not appreciate people being able to do the same without spending a fraction of the cost. The fact is that not all, but a lot of people who would take advantage of that opportunity have never spent a real dime on this game and never will. Those people may play here but they are not customers and as much as they hold equal value as human beings they are not the people that will be keeping this game afloat over the long haul and BVG is not going to drop the bottom out from under their paying customers to make their non-paying players happy. The number of actual regular paying customers who want re-releases are in the minority to paying customers who prefer to leave things as they are and move on to new things. They are not going to be swayed by the notion that suddenly everyone will run and buy up yocash and invest in all the themes being reopened because although some would, the majority that didn't spend before will continue not to spend now. In the fight to save Yo....everyone was swearing up and down on the BVG site that they wouldn't be sorry if they saved the game and they would support BVG but that story has now changed to "I will spend if I like the stuff" or "I will spend if you release what I tell you to release". To me that is not support at all and BVG now knows that so far only 5% of the players are actually Customers and to date the other 95% were just whistling Dixie.

That's not entirely true. I never said I didn't value peoples opinion I simply said they should go with the majority of people not just one group. Again like I have stated before. You bought those items at your own risk. They were not collectibles, and you assumed they may be worth something. It's funny you say the majority players who don't want them released are the ones paying. Have you spoke to all paying players??? Have you spoke to all potential buyers of yocash you are waiting on something they like? No, you are assuming based on the people that comment on this thread and on these recent thread. As you can see at the top of the thread with the poll, the ones on this forum seem to sway towards not caring or they would like them open. Yes it is very close but "yes" is ahead. It's also funny that you are assuming all players that are not paying right now are just trying to get everything with coins. I have already stated nothing right now interests me. I'm sure there are others that feel the same way. There are some out there that refuse buy yocash and spend real money for anything other that items that absolutely want, not spend hundreds of dollars on stuff they may never use but just try to get coins for it. Some of the best stuff is for yocash, but that doesn't mean I want them, or don't already have them. There are also players out there that do spend their money just to buy a lot of one thing and turn around and sell it for a lot of money. To each their own. Again- I just simply want them to think about the majority and not just the only ones complaining and speaking up. No everyone like confrontation. The second someone start arguing or has an opinion different then their own, a lot of people get defensive. I can't say that I have never done it, because I absolutely have. People do it when they are very passionate about something.
A lot of players are hoarders too. I am a decorator so I hoard a bunch of stuff, I however and am not going to waste yocash on hoarding, I am going to use it when I need it, so that if something comes available that I want, I can get it without having to just spend more money on to buy it.

Well said.
I want the themes opened. BVG needs this game to be productive for them. People will come....and people will buy. If I had a dollar for everyone that said "I'm going to quit" over some reason or another and they are still here....I'd be a gazillionaire.
Greg never stated that it will never happen. He stated that it was unlikely. There is a difference. He has also stated that our opinions matter and he has shown it in several different ways. Fact of the matter is...the majority either wants them opened...or do not care either way. Either way, it's his decision and I'll just continue to play my game and support them as best I can.

Actually, if you go back a couple of pages, someone posted a picture of what Viking John said, earlier.
They said they wouldn't release items that were previously released that everyone had a fair chance to get.
Viking John and Greg are not the same name....not last time I checked anyway.

This can be beaten and reincarnated til it's wisher's and hopefuls are blue in the face.
However, BVG put an intentional end to this debate long before it even restarted.

A: Unlikely, but we may create new variations of them.
Gary wrote:If the item was officially released previously and everyone had the opportunity to get it, then no. We know item rarity and value is very important to the players, and we respect that.
Viking John wrote:Hey everyone!
As it's been stated a few times in this thread quoting Gary's interview with YoRehab, if any item has officially been released by Zynga in the past we will not be putting it back into the game. Accidental releases such as the Menorah Hat are different, as they weren't an official release.
All of your 08 and 09 costumes, retro specks, and all the other valuable items that have been released before are not going to be re-released. As Gary mentioned, we understand the value of rare items and want to keep it that way.
If you see people posting 'rumor' threads about releases coming tomorrow or next week, if it's not a post from one of us then it's exactly that, a rumor!
I hope this helps clear things up for everyone!

Here is the progression of statements made by BVG concerning rereleases, if I missed any it would be great if someone could post it.
