I must be deranged. I never think about whether a person is rich or poor and I just don't care whether they are. So I should get off this thread.

I must have lived a sheltered Yo-life. I know I do not get out much in the game, but I do not see those looking down. I just let people be who they are and play as they like, and if it does not resonate I move on to the places that do. I like the forum though, although I was mostly a lurker on the old one until the last year under "They who shall not be named" and I needed to vent at the darkening shadows. ;) The game itself lends to so many varying aspects, it is always going to attract all differing types of players. I like to hang with the nice Yo's, and you are certainly one of that number to smile at. :)

Well, I see it happen at Alton Towers, people being called poor or noobs. I see it in events, with the descriptions that say, "rich only, no noobs." I see it at auctions, when someone not dressed in what is considered, "rich items" bid, they get accused of being fake bidders and mocked and kicked out. I have seen it on this forum, people telling others they "shouldn't have an opinion" or "aren't equal"......I wish I didn't see it, but it is there.

Love the look!! Funny I was just thinking about this the other day, do some ppl actually get a self esteem boost from the forum and the game lol. I will stand up for any player as long as they are nice.
I have never thought I was better than anyone.

You look cute btw!

i think some people actually thrive from being 'popular' in a game or 'wealthy' and have people lick their butt holes

LOL right!! Decorating is one of my favorite things to do!! I never new about any of this until I started reading the forum after playing for like 2 yrs hahaha.

People don't actually go to events and auctions that say that, do they? And Alton's is a joke and so are most who hang out in front trying to look big. Does anyone pay attention to these people? I am NOT looking down on people, I am ignoring bad behavior and choosing not to encourage it. There is a difference.

As for the terminology - it is what is ... I don't think 3rd world countries like being labelled as 3rd world but it is what they are.

Trust me, I cringed at the terms when typing them, no words would be pretty to describe it. As I said, not everyone will fit into one category or a category at all, but my point is you can not lump all people into one category and then judge them based on it.

I can't care anymore about the class system. It is what it is and will continue as long as there's a free market. It's the nature of the game and I don't see it changing, nor do I necessarily want it to. I wear what I like, buy what I like, sell at whatever price I feel like, buy at whatever I can afford (and over) and I have fun. I can have several millions of coins or no coins and lots of assets, but I choose to wear whatever suits my mood at any given time. If a "rich" yo chooses to give me guff for wearing "noob" clothing, I couldn't care less. If a poor yo chooses to beg me for items when I wear "rich" clothing, I couldn't care less. I decorate and dress to my own taste. And I don't judge others by how they are dressed, their tastes, etc. I've bought plenty of cash in the past and plan to again if there are things I want to buy for cash. Never begged and never will. I live by the same rules here as I do in real life.

The examples I gave are very real. I am sure other people will confirm that. Just because you don't see it, or take it serious, does not mean it isn't there.

I am left with the question of who buys into these juvenile power trips that demand a class system? I can't get anyone to tell me if they are a plutocrat.

When I was several months into the game I was privileged to be allowed to tour a guys properties. They were amazing. I have not before or since seen anything like what they guy had and designed. I am sure some of you probably saw his stuff too. His name started with a C and had six letters and he sometimes had a roman numeral after it. Notice I said, I was privileged. Those who took me to meet him and view his stuff acted like we going to see God himself. Now he might have been a plutocrat. I was impressed by what he created and found it interesting that he was so sheltered.

All I know is this: I am a member of two very active groups associated with YoWorld, and "rich or poor" never comes up in either. (Only on the forum!) If someone is looking for an item, then we help out, maybe with a gift or maybe for a reasonable price. Just like real life.

I never have "rich or poor" conversations with real world friends, even though I've had years where I was "poor" and years when I was "rich." Although, I have had small children ask if I was "rich." I want to say, "Like you wouldn't believe!" As if.

What does it matter? Spend what you want. Do what you can.

I'm not cool with people who have a dozen or more alts and have made it so that they can grossly overpay and drive up prices. However, if it didn't violate TOS, I guess I'd admire them for working so hard.

BTW, I've spent a king's ransom on YoCash in the past and was a "seller" back when I had to argue with people to get 450:1 even though others were getting 1000:1 or more. I can only afford to buy YoCash for my own needs now, or I might be rich. Maybe I am, depending on who is thinking about it. But then, I had to sell some "treasures" to get most of the coins I do have, so that now I no longer have and can no longer afford the "treasures" that I gave up.

Oh, woe... why don't I have everything that the rest of you have?

Both groups can be just as irritating. I won't stand for pompous, arrogant, and unkind actions by 'rich' players and neither will I stand for jealous, cruel, and whiny behavior from 'poor' players.

Everyone gets a fair chance with me. Your actions judge you. Nothing else.

I understand. But I guess a better way to put it is I do not give it or them my attention. People who mistreat others are reflecting what they are, and that is where they are on their journey. When I used to go to more events I was kicked a few times for what I am not sure, but I figured they were probably doing me a favor and that is not a place I need to be in? What I can control is myself, and how I treat others. I skip the threads here that I am not going to get anything of value out of for myself, and wish us all well doing what it is we are here doing... loving a game that has brought us to a common place. I do not think I am rich or poor, better or worse, or anything other than a person who is playing YoWorld just in the way that is perfect for me. And posting here, I follow the rules set by BVG, but even more importantly I make every attempt to follow the standards as a person that I have set for myself.

Wonderful thread, love the discussion. :)

Robot (185180932) wrote:I think it's tough to classify and hammer these things down imo. Anybody can be rich at any time regardless if they're ever spent a dime on yocash, regardless if they're a new player, old player, etc. Just like anybody can be poor at any time whether they're a new player an old player or not. Anybody who is poor has the potential to be rich anybody who is rich has the potential to be poor. Some people work very hard to be "rich". and some people only have to sell 1 item and bam, instantly they're rich. Some people can give away all of their coins items, would that make them poor? idk. That seems like a very diverse thing to classify to me...This could fluctuate every day, all day. and it does.

Exactly, it is all about perspective Robot. The thing that bugs me is people don't consider that though before passing judgement on another player. Yes, I generalized in my post, which I said it was, but it was mostly to show that you can not just put all people into a rich or poor category. Everyone plays the game differently, so no one category fits at all.

Very true.... We all can work hard to not be poor. It's not like "oups I just happen to be poor!" Nah... you start from the ground up. It's a diverse case of different specifics for everybody. I tend to have around 2-4 mil as my average, I would not consider that rich at all. But a new player sure might! Doesn't that make me rich in their eyes? Yeah... Am I rich in mine? No! LOL. So yeah... It varies. Some rich cheated to get there and some didn't. Some were gifted an item that made them rich. Others held on to items from 08, or sold an 08 costume to cash in on it. It really depends on so many levels.

Of course! No different than in real life. Being that there are real people behind the avatars, there will be all types. Ya just disregard the players in the game that bug you just as ya would in the real world. Can't eliminate people you don't like, but you can certainly ignore them.

I get where you;re coming from! its the reason I prefer to say newbie as opposed to noobie... players tend to use the term noobie in such a negative way I don't like it.
