It means the sh*t hit the fan and seems knows more than we do, hmmm :eh:

lol I was thinking of replying something like "sh*t happens and now has to be cleaned up."

Which of course doesn't ease, at all, the anger/grief/severe emotional pain so many here are feeling or prevent anyone leaving YW because
of it.

NOPE. I have had way too many losses in the last 6 years and this one stings too much. Yes some of my boards were of dead pets. Some were gifts my Hootie friend Jen made of our HootieHog group in our owl+hedgehog costumes (several of those people have since passed), many more were specific ones I had commissioned her to make for me -- esp the personal ones of my Scraps character & the ones for my Wizard of Oz train & of Elmer the Elephant. I know I had some others scattered amongst other properties, most images were of things not made in YW. One example was my "Surrender Dorothy" sign in the sky above my Oz train. I had a couple of recent boards that Skull made for me. All gone. I had an Easter mural of the Old Rugged Cross. Gone. My Hootie friend Jeffy also had a Wizard of Oz tour (a huge, elaborate, beautifully done one) & many other tours. He had hand-drawn some pictures in tribute to his father. All those are gone. He estimated at least 80 properties of his are "ruined." He was also hurt before that by all the vaulting because he's one of the picto artists (create images out of assorted in-game items). I have many other friends whose tours and tribute rooms are empty. There's no price that can repay this.

You're a 1000percent correct...it's a loss for every player. Huge loss that I hope we can in some way recover from. But until we know, I'm trying to give bvg the benefit of the doubt. We know from what was said we paid for the crime of the few. Yup. Now we both know that if there had been time they could have cleaned up those accounts....but in the end. That might not stop it ... I'm trying to see it from the side of the guy fighting those who openly stated their goal is to see bvg closed.

I'd like to know myself who she is talking about, and where did this info come from? That is an interesting statement to post, a little off track, but inquiring minds want to know :?:

So will I, doll

Speculation, however well-intentioned, is something that the Vikings have politely asked us to resist the urge to post

Viking Adam has promised a full explanation as soon as he's able to provide one and I see no reason why he wouldn't honour that

I know it sucks, all of my tour maps are now gone so I too have been adversely affected by this, however, I believe they will do whatever they can to find a solution

i FAIL at that. It is in my nature to guess and to speculate but just feeling a need to emphasize all the serious level threats and crimes out there in social media and gaming that could have resulted in BVG being forced into this action in an immediate and complete manner. I have my number of complaints about YW and how i feel BVG is doing players wrong in what they have changed and all the problems that haven't changed, but I don't think this was an out to get the players or didn't take the time to only punish the offenders situation.

What do you mean? Who are the who that openly stated this?
when we were told, we had no choice ... the is was the actions of few that is hurting the entire community . If they had other choices they would have taken them :) thanks for asking ..... simply removing the players might not have stopped the issues and I feel that I owe BVG the benefit of the doubt and if they said this was the best possible fix for a horrible situation it was the best possible choice. We can all play armchair quarterback and in fact - I begged bvg in the feedback area in help that without some sort of real answer to this --- there is going to be a ton of rumors; some closer to the truth then others - fingers will be pointed at innocent players while those that might have been connected may go undetected. ----- it just blows, no an ifs or buts about it - and while I have an opinion all i know for sure is what everyone knows ..... that bvg did this and they felt there was zero choices; that we have had reports of doxxing in discord repeatedly plus the statement that this was done by a few that hurt all of us deeply ....... based on those three things that could be completely unrelated I think it might very well be a some sort of legal issue - if it had been code I dont think they would be as on the down low and I dont think they want to implode yoworld either ... and I'm sure its been a horrible weekend for our vikings, because even if there was no way to defend or protect us, they feel an obligation. They have a sense of kinship with many of the players and I have no doubt they understand what and how many of us are feeling over this unfortunate situation.

as for the they that want to see BVG cloced- it has been stated here as well as on their hate pages --- that BVG took from them and there will be no peace until BVG is closed -- i have seen it on discord once as well from a player.

this Frida is where u get to thank those players that have worked endless hours in the pursuit -- that is to pull BVG under water. They broke the rules, were given the correct treatment and the resentment they carry has not endded These players are in other games you play as well - some are good at coding and make honest money in some platforms and in others they simply bend and break the rules.

those who created this mess did it with intent; BVG im sure as we speak are looking for ways to assure legally they are unable to do this again to us (the reasoning behind not really being able to tell us more - they themselves are now in a legal battle and cant)

So know, we all feel your pain. Yoworld has many many great and wonderful people. So you might never meet. their joy is in their homes and their small circle. There use to be alot of people like that; I'm hoping we can create a welcoming culture that see's a return as players life's allow - lets be honest, sometimes real life just gets in the way of a few hours of relaxation

Hang in there ok please, lets give them a chance to try to explain and help us (like me non techy sort of non code person ) understand just why and how we are going to move forward into our 'brave new world'

Beatrice sweetie, It's not about the boards. It's about the lacks of respect, consideration and mostly communication with their customers (paying players) All they had to do was advice the gaming community of their intentions before pulling the plug not afterwards. When Zynga decided to pull the plug on the game they gave us the respect of communication way in advance of their intentions, that is respect. I could care less about compensation or even if the boards ever come back again and I don't need a detail explanation either, I am sure it was serious enough to take the action they did. But they still could have warned the community. That is my real issue. Lucky me I have old YoVille erase boards that for now it seems BVG does not have the codes to erase them but I am sure they will find a way! o_o

thank you I do understand that, I started 12/08 on my space - I have for the most part been out of the game for a number of years. Because I'm not comfortable with certain things BVG decided without any fore thought ... but at this moment, I think given how little we do know - I want to believe with all my heart that they simply didnt have the freedom to get us a heads up on this. I dont think this is part of some hidden plan to drive players away from the game; i think they are trying to keep afloat during some of the worse inflation in the states since I was a kid. (not a political statement; i feel the inflation is a combo of corp greed and the losing the boomer work force... over a 20 percent decrease in the work force in the states)

If anyone here ever played or plays City Girl Life, please tell me how you play it now. It says no adobe but I keep getting something that says to update it. I don't think it plays on chrome anymore, either.

For those of you that know my work, and have left messages of condolences for all my lost artwork, thank you. I hope my little corner of YoWorld made you smile. All I ever wanted to do was provide inspiration for themes not offered and to make people laugh. As an alternative to the paint boards, I hope the Vikings can provide editing tools that will enable trusted players to create such things again.
Unfortunately, I don't have many screenshots of my rooms. I did have this one from the 100 acre woods, it was one of my favorites. Goodbye my paint board friends.

This has to be the worst decision you have ever made. Hundreds of hand drawn boards, you cant possibly compensate for the hours spent on them, a lot of our tours are ruined and so is this game for a lot of people.....

Thx Miss Klutz. I try to find the facts about issues, but on this one they aren't going to be sharing them. I did post twice about what I think it was and those were removed within 15 seconds. So my guess is that those were probably the issue, and it fits with the gravity and immediacy of the decision.

My prediction: those waiting for "clarity" will wait a very long time. Communication has always been a major fault of BVG. They never explain. Not to a banned player who loses all - not to any paying customer who deserves better. It's pure speculation what caused this rash action on their part and I doubt any compensation will actually satisfy those of us who lost memorials, rooms of lost loved ones and so much more. It just smacks of not understanding your customer base. We deserved a days notice at least to preserve what we had in another way. I will never believe that they couldn't just preserve the data and disable the feature, ban the accounts breaking TOS and find a way forward. Nah - took the easy way knowing most will just cop the slap to the face and keep paying and playing anyhow.
