Once again it takes money to keep the game going. New people can swarm in but if they don't spend money that's not helping the game. And if they do spend money then....THEY CAN GET WHAT THEY WANT.
You are correct again:"New people can swarm in but if they don't spend money"--- but you forgot to say, they don't spend money RIGHT AWAY.
I don't know about you, but I didn't spend anything on this game for about 5-6 month, when I started, until I knew for sure I liked this game. And I am sure I was not the only one, who wanted to get a feel for a game, before I spend any money on it.
And only thing NEW players right now would find out, that they need to spend & spend & spend TONS of real money to decorate 1 room.
What fun is that?

I don't even own any of the old collectibles anymore, I gave them all away a few years ago, but I still wouldn't want to see a re-release. I wouldn't want those valuable gifts I gave to my friends to become as common as toasters.

Collectibles are not on the table to be re-released. They were always available for a certain amount of time and then taken away, hence the name collectible. Items bought from the collectible category are the only items that should gain in value. Even with BVG created items, as soon as they are removed from the store they will fall prey to the current yoconomy.
The reason for re-releases is to create a sustainable yoconomy so new players and decorators don't have to spend a fortune decorating a room.

That's not to say that folks won't recruit friends to join forums just to vote, but as it stands and has stood until now, the votes are pretty much tied.
Seems there really isn't just ONE side of this that seems to dominate over the other. I like that.

There was once a time when people charged reasonable prices for collectibles, now they are outrageous. I totally support re-releases and the newer folks not getting the shaft! In the end, it is JUST A GAME.

it would be older players getting the shaft, new players need to work there way up like we did

Could not disagree more - items were not practically unattainable for us like they are for new players.

The worst one is the pink retros. They're almost as common as bait worms ffs
