freaking HOURS of work
Dear Amy, I am so sorry for your Doctor Who themed losses. I had a Whovian themed PB characters you might have enjoyed. Sadly, I don't have the screenshots - had I known we were going to lose our work, I would have taken more pics and organized my original files. If we ever get PB ability back, I'd like to donate to your collection.

Ban those who are violating the rules not everyone. I have no desire to play the game anymore after this. I am beyond upset. You should have come up with a better solution. We get nothing for all the time we put in.

I wonder if someone posted child porn or revenge porn on paint boards. And if that was the case I can understand why BVG acted so fast. We could lose the game totally. They probably had to wipe it fast so they had no time to sort out the good boards from the bad. If this was the case, hopefully once this is sorted out, the good boards can come back.
They had NO choice.
Oh I agree
There's always a choice!

There are so many other solutions that you could have employed to deal with this issue. What about players who have built entire rooms around boards? I made wallpaper and built a room around and now it's all gone? Do you guys know how many hours of work you have erased with the click of a button?

You'd be incorrect. I don't know Canada law, but in the US any business with servers that identifies child porn on any device must contact the FBI immediately. This is usually followed by forensic analysis of the server(s) that can take days, up to and including removal of the physical servers and all related back ups.
If that isn't shutting down the game, please tell me what is?

Where are people getting that's what it was besides speculation? If that is what it was, shut down and ban the accounts doing it.

I don't know what happened to precipitate this decision but OMG!!!
I, like every other player, am just devastated by this news. I had an entire black room full of paint boards that I've been purchasing for years. I stopped playing for a long time but have since come back to decorate-especially with my artwork collection. I also had the most beautiful home I've ever done made with all my old YoVille stuff and paint boards. Of course, they're all gone.
I've dealt with a pedophile who s*xx**lly abused my daughter and two other young girls. My baby was 11 at the time. She's 38 now. If this was the reason for BVG's actions, then so be it. I cannot think it would come close to the Federal case involving my daughter, but I have a deep hatred for Pedophiles. And they are everywhere. Child Pornography is one of the most disgusting acts on this planet. Perpetrated by the most evil.
Sorry if this was TMI, but from what I have been reading on this topic, it seems as if this may have been the reason for the hasty action on the part of BVG.
I'm also sorry for all who lost so MUCH of their hard work and money. I want to thank all the Yo's who made this beautiful art possible with all of their time, money and creativity. It is such a terrible loss.

I do not ask this idly. I reallly want to know what you hope to accomplish.

I'm guessing this is a stage of grief that some must go through because of the way this was handled without warning, and was such a shock. Talking about it, speculating, and asking questions, are important for some people to process what just happened. Some of these boards were near and dear to people in ways that many will not be able to truly understand, especially if the artist is no longer with us or if the artwork was of someone very special to them and that image is no longer available for them to see. Or the sudden disappearance of important pieces in a decorated room that can not be replaced is heartbreaking. There are a lot of emotions involved here and I think it's important for people to be able to post their thoughts.
Adeline (113719515) wrote:I lost many boards including boards of my departed pets and many by people no longer here, Girl Detective But I believe we now need to let this rest not escalate so we can hopefully still have a game and get our boards back.
