I'm one of the minority who thinks its ok to sell gifts. Maybe because I give SO much stuff away. If a friend gives me something and I sell it in the pursuit of a rare or 08 I really think that is ok and I will still think of my friend when I see that rare or 08.
That being said, I would never ask for a specific item and then sell it. I've gotten two big ticket items from friends in the past few months and I treasure them and would never sell them because I was looking for them at the time. They gave me theirs so that to me, is extraordinary.
But if someone gifts me at random there is the possibility that I will sell it if I decide to go after a big ticket item. And people who are going to be butt hurt when I do... I'd prefer not to get any gifts from you.
I gift friends and enemies and strangers and noobs and rich all alike. They are all welcome to do whatever they want with them. I genuinely don't care.
I've given away far more than I could ever get back even if this entire forum gift bombed me. So I'm very practiced at letting go.

I would never sell my gifts. I've had my yorothy, cupid bow, and police woman for a few years because they were given to me by a friend of mine. The cool part is the story behind the items and what memories they have been through with me in the game.

Happens to everyone who gifts, and is the reason some stopped gifting. I also noticed with the old wish list some people would not remove high end or new items when gifted so started telling peeps what I gifted the person when I knock knocked. I have re-gifted random items left to me by someone leaving the game if I found someone wishing for it, about the only time I give away a gift. Nice that you gifted someone, sorry it aggravated you.
