i know, i probably wouldn't pay more than 25k for it. after all that time of being valued so low it's finally worth quite a bit.. still don't like it.

I love how people here are screaming at each other like they've never done something like this. Everyone does it, if you see a good deal you buy it, you don't ask to pay more. It's how people make coins in this game. You don't go on eBay on an item that is low and bid the top market price on it.

Calm down and let it go.

Agree that is how many yovillians make coins.

Agree. When the question of how to make a lot coins comes up, the most common answer I've seen is "buy low, sell high"

Well, I wasn't going to post in this thread, however..............EVERYONE doesn't do this. Of course we all buy a "good deal" if we find it, but buying a good deal from a player who obviously knows what they are doing and duping a new player is 2 different scenarios.
You make coins by buying an item for 100k and selling it for 150k. Not by offering a noobie 20k on something that YOU know is worth way more and then running out and selling it for tons more than you paid and THEN coming here to shout it to the roof tops and THEN cry because no one thinks you did the right thing.

A good deal would probably be paying 200k considering how it's worth 350-400k. Just my two cents. Not everyone does it.

20k or 200k you're still not paying the full worth. It's the same situation. Doesn't matter new or not. If they are unaware or pride and you buy then you're just as guilty.

There has been times when I've gone to an event solely to better help them price their item, if I walked in and saw they were a new player I would feel bad and tell them they can get more for it. I recently saw a chick selling a hair for only 25k, I could tell she didn't know any better so I looked up the hair for her and told her a better average price to sell it for.

i used to do this often, but as a buyer it can really backfire.

like i'd be interested in buying the hair, say "Wait, i want to buy hair but will go check the price so i can give you a reasonable offer"

then the seller would just take the next offer (like 20k for a 90k hair) and i'd come back and it'd already be sold. if i really want an item and see that the only way to get it is to move fast, i don't always get to the PGs to check prices. sometimes i overpay sometimes underpay.

i'm glad i don't go to yard sales anymore. too much to memorize. long live AH.

Seeing as how he was unaware of the price I see that as taking advantage of that situation. That's why I would never first off, offer 20k on something that is worth way more than that. Regardless of whether the person was aware or not. Yes, I buy low and sell high but I always pay going rate and wait till it goes up.

It is the way of the game. But, this isn't buying low and selling high, the way most people generally think of it. I buy something at its current value for the currently accepted price and sell later when there is a demand and the price increases. Not KNOWINGLY shortchanging someone, and turning around the next second and flipping it for a profit. It might be just me but I think there is a small ethical difference.

Like I said, it is what it is. If you see a good deal you're going to take it not sit there and ponder about the morals of life for 45 minutes before declining. If you're buying an item low whether it's 20k or 200k it's all the same. Buy low sell high and we all move on with our lives.

I was trying to be very neutral to this subject, but please do not bring up your life struggles because it has nothing to do with that. If I wanted pity I'd tell you about how my GAD is so severe that I can no longer leave the house without my 'safety' person, how my Panic Disorder prevents me from being able to spend one day without insane heart palpitations and tremors all throughout my body, how my BDD prevents me from LIVING normally. Listen to me when I TELL you that you could have it much worse than a FEW people on a FORUM stating their OPINIONS.
