Pandering words designed to elicit support for one team by creating fear about another. I'm not minimizing the fear, because that loose cannon is liable to do ANYTHING that lines his pockets. But the other team uses the same language to create fear of the other option. And those fears are also just possible.

We have to get beyond the fear to see what is really happening. It's simply a contest over money, influence, and power that uses the people as pawns. Nothing really ever changes unless it can effect how the parties get access to more money, influence, and power. They usually get there with words alone, but occasionally they are forced to deliver some actual change. But that is rare.

No. Until we have another party who can really fix things relatively quickly, this is where we are. In the current times, it really IS the lesser evil. And maybe we're so screwed that that it's not going to be a quick fix after decades of the same old yadda. If you don't think this yadda spills into the game, you are wrong. Just stop already. You have outed yourself as a non-voter/one-sided/single issue voter. You're more transparent than you think you are. You waffle on everything from game content to sociology to politics and on and on. You've pretty much painted yourself as a dude who likes to grill and enjoy other masculine activities. I'm going to walk away now before I add anything else. :bye:

Speaking of "on and on", why does it always seem turn into name calling and baiting when your feels get disrupted? I don't deconstruct your psychological deficiencies to further my opinions. But you seem to go there every time.

Judge my ideas. Criticize my opinions. But please stop making it personal. I'm not attacking you or anyone else.

I'm sorry my opinions aren't yours. Wait, no I'm not. :)

IT HAD ZERO TO DO WITH POLITICS. PERHAPS START AROUND WHERE THOSE ON THIS TOPIC BEGIN TALKING ABOUT ACTUAL, POSSIBLE LEGAL REASONS WHERE BVG WAS FORCED TO DO THIS.
"Legal" as in consult Websters.

There are some people that have to bring politics into every discussion. As for "boycotting", I know it's not June 20th yet but I made a purchase just to get a head start on my non-boycott. When people try to pressure me into doing what they want, I tend to dig in my heels and do the opposite. I'm Irish and a Taurus & we're just a tad stubborn. :haha:

I no longer believe in astrology but I have adopted the Capricorn sea-goat a symbol of my identity :)
Found this by searching google images for Capricorn Mermaid. The image comes from an AI site https://openart.ai/home. On my list of AI to try if it is free...
Wondering if it would be possible for BVG to give us some kind of AI that would have text censors enabled. We could then add our created images to our homes.

OK. Still in the realm of speculation, but let me tell you what I saw. I was on Discord when one player announced there was an event luring underage kids for sexual purposes and the paintboards had all sorts of hateful and sexual content. The Vikings freaked and took immediate action to shut that down and the next day paintboards were disabled.

Perhaps that wasn't it, but I just know A happened, then B, then C. Doesn't really matter because the damage is done, but if that was it, the gossip around the reasons would be somewhat valid.

OK. Carry on...

I heard there was underage (18) doxxing going on combined with say images that regardless of whether you call them revenge porn would certainly qualify as child porn. They won't ever be able to tell us depending on the level of offense which i am guessing was really serious and they just would not have taken away PBs en masse unless it was that level. I am not sure what their options were in removal if they could have done things differently if they had more time but they likely felt they did not have more time. I get the anger and loss and grief :heartbroken: but I don't think many are seeing this reality. :eh:

I can't do the ageism thing, My hubby is 19 yrs older than me at 81. While he might be absentminded or forget that movie etc he is in full control of his decision making and how he feels about things. That's why judging people's abilities and minds by age does not work, which is also my not saying I agree on forum or not about that candidate who is not the one who believes he is the sun of his own solar system.

Actually, i have no issue with age but i am very concerned that we do not see many qualified and/or inspiring rising up to run in the future. too much fear out there i think.

I'm very much an ageist. I see the decline in people all the time from it, both professionally and personally. They lose not just energy, but also creativity, adaptability, flexibility, focus, and drive. I realize there are exceptions, but as a rule it's a bad plan. We have 2 perfect examples of the risk - a couple of mentally soft old dudes who should be arguing over what channel the tv is on in the rec room instead vying for the US presidency. They should debate each other in rocking chairs on a porch.

The problem with finding younger candidates who are qualified is based in the seniority (reverse ageism) picks made by party leadership. They pick their buddies for better roles, who are all as old or older than they are. The "new" candidates have to "earn" it by serving time - thus eliminating them from presidential contention based on experience. The other reality is that we expect perfection in the people chosen. And there are so few adults who haven't committed some "electability" sin along the way. They've either spouted something at one point that someone saw as racist/sexist/elitest/dumb/cruel etc etc etc. Everything is recorded now, so their mistakes are documented for eternity. Nobody forgives because no one is allowed to forget - thanks to our entertainment based media.

Politics are one of my favorite topics, often because they are so polarizing. People tend to pick a team and ride or die with it, not understanding that both teams are the problem. They are out of control.

But one team, not mentioning names, actually has a plan to take away many of our rights as citizens (ones we have not already lost recently) including the right to pick another team. There is certain project in place dated for next year that anyone in doubt ought to check out...waiting for this thread to get locked now lol. And so yah I am also going to say one team is much much worse at this time in history.

Probably the same event, just different details. Suffice it to say we know they didn't want to, they had to. And we know time was of the essence because it was very quick and final. Add to that they knew the upset they would cause the innocent players and there's only one conclusion: wipe the boards or lose the game.

And since this--like 50 Shades--will always be murky, I'm just going to go with that. Doesn't make it any nicer for us, but at least it lets me put the anger where it belongs--with the perpetrators of that event. Grrrr.

None of it is lost on me. There is only one joystick and both parties use the excuse they need it to keep the other side from crashing the plane. The problem is that neither party knows how to fly anymore. But as long as they keep us at each other's throats over which team should get the joystick, we'll ignore the real problem - them. I realize the Oompa Loompa is caustic, rude, and insane. But I also realize the Marionette is dry, lost, and a puppet. Both are extreme threats to good leadership. I write in my vote every time, because I can't be part of either plane crash. And maybe that is "give up"? But I refuse to vote for incompetent people. The system is broken and the people lose every time.

It is far more than just the prez political candidates especially the one (though he is fully wanting to be a dictator and has stated such including what rights he will be taking away Day 1), not naming names; it is that one party has gone full out authoritarian/fascist and I don't use those words lightly. One party would like here what has been done to Hungary under Orban. I will stop there so as not to itemize things that will cause flames to erupt on this thread from those I know would see a chance for a flame war...

I won't say I am an nerd regarding authoritarianism (of different flavors) and particularly fascist populism but I make it a point to listen to and read from respected academics who are.

One party, that I previously disagreed with on much, is no longer even that party of old.

I also suspect Ike is crying in his grave.

how big will they lose if medicare and social security and the right for women to vote are lost? That is what is at stake.

Here is where I am at, I hate (with the true serious meaning of that verb) the one the candidate that would prevent the end of a democratic republic in favor of a theocratic form of fascism as exists in Hungary (as one example). Why? because of a certain conflict, not naming here, that has some serious, highest level, international court charges attached to it now that I believe are true. I believe a certain candidate, and a small few close to him, are abetting what I consider an atrocity. That still makes him better and safer than the other guy. I am breaking my sacred moral compass to vote for him--well I would if I were in MI (f.i. or any swing/purple state) but being in WA I can leave that part of the ballot empty because my state always goes one color.

It is a trend - look at Europe.

Look worldwide. There is a huge chunk of the world now favoring some form of authoritarianism. India f.i. has the party in charge that goes all the way back to pan-Aryanist fascism at the time of Hitler. A huge chunk of the authoritarianism looks like a modern cosplay revival of 1920-30s fascist nationalisms.

It is not pandering fear to firmly state one of the 2 major US parties wants the same. There are wealthy donors for each party but the wealthy donors for one also have no problem with that "project" dated/titled for "next year."
