Back when my daughters and I started playing YoVille I was struggling financially as a single mom and YoCash was not a consideration in my monthly budget so we came up with a plan to make a YoCash money jar in order to save for YoCash . Simply....we loved the game and so decided to give things up in order to put that money towards it. I wanted to share this with you as some might appreciate how we found a way to buy it on a very tight budget. We soon realized we could easily afford to enhance our game experience by giving up things that just were not necessary. The fact is that even in hard times...when we sit and look at how we spend we can always find money being spent on things that are not necessities.

Coffee - I stopped picking up coffee on the way to work and instead took my own in a travel mug

Candy Bars/Junkfood - On a trip to the store where they might have gotten a treat the girls would tell me to put the money to the jar instead.

Movies - We used to make a point of going to a movie once per month. We decided Yo was more fun and interactive :)

Eating Out - Instead we had food theme nights at home...sooo much cheaper and more fun too!

The girls always asked for game cards for their birthdays and I was happy to buy them because it was something we were doing together. I could go on and on with the list of things we gave up but I am sure you get the idea. It takes discipline to put that money in the jar but after a while it just became second nature. Along the way we dropped some pretty unhealthy habits that we hadn't really thought about in day to day life before we came up with this strategy.

Many good ideas here. Congrats on figuring out a way to enhance your Yo playing experience, AND play along with your kids. I think that's great.

I've always said that there aren't as many people who "can't" buy yc as there is that "won't" buy yc. ;)

Inspiring thread! Your girls are learning life skills too that money doesn't grow on trees and you may have to give up something for something you want more. Loves!!!
