Today while in Yo, I was hosting an event.. I like to make the " Rate My Home " events because it reminds me of how old Yo was and I'm really hoping that will be brought back, so maybe if I keep the attitude ( many others are as well ) we can bring back the feeling of the game when we started.. Anywhoo, I was sitting in my apartment when a girl came into my home asking if I would trade my cocoaville bubble for her dress.. I would of given it to her but it was a gift and I HATE the idea of selling any of my gifted items.. ( I know people work hard to get the things they have and it was very kind of the angel to gift me it, as it was on my wishlist when I first started being on the Forums ) If you look at my Event name, it has nothing to do with trading my bubble or any of my items.. She kept sending trades and asking please after I nicely told her no.. and I said I already had it so I wouldn't hurt her feelings, I don't think I was being rude at all. I was actually going to give some items until I was cursed for not giving her what she wanted.. But I don't think it's very respectful to go to someone's event to beg for things.. I'll gladly gift someone if they need it, but not so much for those who event-hop looking for people to take things from. I did take some shots and I waited for her to leave before I took any pictures because I do want to keep her identity secret even though I really shouldn't, since it was extremely rude to do something like this.. And she did leave as soon as she called me a yadda ( censored ) so I didn't have the chance to report her... Has anyone else had experiences like this lately?

Please take a look at the event name above and read the chat log.Image
This is the dress she wanted to trade for my bubble also.

People lately have been acting like they've had no discipline whatsoever.. It might be just a game, but hopefully their parents have taught them how to treat people.. There really is no exception for un-needed rudeness. I've also gone to Altons and randomly gifted, and have experienced that also.. You were being very kind for gifting at all, I just don't understand why people can't think about it before they speak.. grr sorry it just ruffles my feathers

LOL I was at your event earlier. It really is a nice place though. Don't let those peeps get to you they assume if you have money that you don't care what happens with it just cause you're rich.

i think over the last week or so i sent out a fair few gifts, i got 2 thank you's back... it feels great when i gift someone and i always tell them if they dont like it pass it on or whatever but it's common courtesy to at least say thank you or is that asking to much?

Like I said, hopefully their parents have taught them how to be respectful.. I think it should be expected to get a thank you.. My mom would of kicked my butt if I didn't say thank you, yes ma'am, etc.. LOL It's defiantly not too much to ask for.. There is also one server now so I think younger players are getting in the game and being disrespectful since mommy isn't watching- to be brutally honest..

:( Aw, people are so rude! At least go to an event dealing with trading...

Just yesterday before work someone randomly messaged me on FB and asked if I was in Yo, I was late to work and JUST about to close my laptop so I replied "no" and left for work... I came home to see messages about me loaning them coins pretty please and stuff  It's all about the money!

I believe it was today, I was at altons but went to another tab for like 5 minutes when I came back I read the chat log (Like I always do when I go to off Yo) and someone was at altons and Pmed me twice, the first PM saying "Give me coins". Yes there was no please in that one, the she proceeded to call me an "idiot". Was that really needed? I don't think so.

the altons are just not my favourite place as i never know who is a real newbie and who is an alt acct, back in 09 i cant recall it ever being as bad as it was and definitely no begging as everyone was in the same boat pretty much, it's just greed and competition and seeing who can get the most... personally i don't understand it, i play to decorate and have fun with friends not see how many coins i can accumulate or how popular i can get

I loved the Altons, it really has changed since this competition between rich or poor players started.. I play for the same reasons I did back in 09.. Same as yours Vicky, decorating & talking to people-- which I think the game was created for but some people took it and manipulated it for selfish reasons.

I have had similar encounters. I have had events where that one person comes in & asks if I would accept trades & then offers off the wall random junk that in no way reflects the cost of the item I am selling. When I refuse they report me & tell me they did so before they left.

Whatever!

Hi there,
I also talk about this a lot, how much I miss the thumbs up/thumbs down room rating system! I would try and get mine as high as I could, and it would help out a lot going to an event and a person's place was rated down you probably knew they were up to no good (unless people were just being mean). I have to agree with you, I hate when someone hosts an event, and people come and be rude. Just so annoying!
