In other games or websites, if you copy and paste then spam over and over really fast, it would disable your chat or temporary ban you, so if the system has someone typing the same thing every half a second maybe automaticly ban them for 15 minutes

I think a temp mute would work better out of the two,and temp ban if it's repeat offense.

Yes, a temporary mute would be more appropriate. If you spam, you are not allowed to chat for 50 seconds, like that,
