Do those of you who decorate NEED the wall & floor tiles to be flawlessly aligned?

Or are you the 'let it all jumble up and be uneven' type?

I find when I do decorate, I tend to become a total perfectionist and strive to have every single wall or floor tile perfectly aligned as possible, or else it distracts me. It's pretty obnoxious but it will bug me if there is awkward tile-clipping, or it's uneven anywhere. I have realized how prominent of a role tileing ACTUALLY is. It's pretty important, and easily the most time-consuming aspect of decorating for me. When I give decorating a shot, it mostly consists of me dragging one tile at a time in to alignment.

I find a lot of people throw windows and tiles up that are all uneven, and it distracts me more than it should. Yet I also notice when others are the type like me who prefer to line up every tile as perfect as possible.

Which school do you fall in to?

I won't call it OCD but yes, if you are going to take the time to "tile" a floor, it needs to be perfect. Otherwise, why bother?

I do very few spaces -

so I like to have it align and filled with items that create a 'story'

rather then random expensive items

I am not OCD but if it isn't flush, plum, level, evenly spaced or perfectly aligned it physically hurts :)

I"m the perfect as possible type. Not saying I get it perfect, I don't. I'm not talented that way but I do the best I can. I remember once I used a ton of those elite tiles, they are so tiny. I never could get them all straight so I finally dumped them and used a rug. Gave the tiles to a friend.

It's weird...I'm not OCD in my real life, but in Yo, things HAVE to look right!
I'm like that...all the tiles, grass & hay floors have to align just so. It drives me nuts if they don't.
Same with placing items on either side of the screen. There has to be equal space, top & bottom and side to side...otherwise, it just looks wrong to me.

LOL! I'm the same way as far as my apartment (it's a mess). But I also knit and make jewelry and I'm a bit of a perfectionist where those are concerned.

To the untrained eye this may seem like an adequate tileing job.

To me I see a terrible reworking is necessary. LOL

I spend hours making sure things line up sometimes ... it's especially bothersome when you are trying to line up items like a fences for instance, in the black area, using black edit... that can take forever and a day sometimes..

I think I have Yo OCD. I have to line mine up and it needs to be a symmetrical room. I also am a very simple decorator. I like it neat and organized. Some peoples designs where they put tons of stuff in a room makes me cringe and distracts me....

Wish I'd included this in my thread honestly, you took my idea! Haha, jk. I'm like that in Yo too, but oddly not in decorating but in doing jobs. Which is weird imo. I want to finish a job with precisely 0 energy left - no more, no less. I will wait until I have 6 energy to finish a job. It's weird, but I can't not do it. :x

I know what you mean. The tiles need to be perfect and the rooms need some balance? lol same here...

With grass and stone tiles I perfectly place them.
With windows and paintings I try my best but I find it hard.

I am very similar to you. I like minimal and pristine. lol

I get overwhelmed from busy rooms, too many animated items going off in 1 room does my head in. I also don't own a lot of items. (Only have 3 or 4 rooms decorated so i am FAR from a hoarder) Because it feels overwhelmed if i own too much. Ask any of my friends, I own very little!
