In yesterday's Mercury News (San Jose, CA) there was an article entitled "The Wild, Wild World of Executive Pay" Even though Zinga only earned about $873 million dollars, their CEO, Don Mattrick was paid $57.8 million. The average pay for a Bay area CEO is $8 million. Nothing to sneeze about .. particularly when noting that in 2007 the average CEO pay was about $3 million (and most of the work a day folks around here have taken a 3 to 5% cut during that time ... whole other discussion)

My point being, this is one of the MAJOR differences between Zinga and BVG. Consider the fact that BVG's CEO comes to the board and has an question and answer session !!!! I don't even remember ever knowing Don's name!

The money at Zinga did not go to the designers, moderators and "Happiness Engineers" ... it was all about profit for an already bloated sector of society.

While complaining about prices, which are reflective of the original "Yobuck" cost, coin wise, think about where the money goes and how the company is utilizing the money.

Gary has been very forthcoming about their goals and mission. There is a ramp up and learning curve and all, but human decency over profit, there is no price on that and it can not be learned.

Z makes me sick. The only thing that they did that made me happy was them selling the game to BVG.

I recently went on the zynga facebook page, clicked the comment section on their recent farmville 2 post, and every comment was pretty much "people still play your stuff?" "this is what happens when dogs run a company" LOL man those made me laugh

Perhaps he can use some of that money to buy himself a clue on how NOT to blunder a company away.

No, that was his pay from the company last year. It is the annual "What does the boss make" article that the Mercury News prints yearly

Z was always about the money. The proceeds of all that yocash people bought went straight into the pockets of the executives.

Why do you think there were so many retrenchments, they wanted to keep the money and had to fire people to enrich themselves.

LOL!! You'd think with all that money he'd be able to afford a decent hairdresser

But really.. THIS really puts it into perspective. I don't see Zynga lasting much longer.
