Image how the staff at BVG are feeling - They try to fix one thing, and doing that breaks another dozen things. Then we all start complaining. I tongue in cheek brought up that it wasn't the AH that got fixed - I do feel a little bad about that considering all the other things that went wrong for them on this maintenance. I'm feeling for the BVG team and us right now. I bet they are banging their heads against walls right about now.

That's scary though. Shows there's not a good development policy in place to modify the source code.

Yep. Struggling with coding and programming is a frustrating thing. Like you said, you change something to fix something and another thing gets corrupted. Not an easy task they are doing. But well, it's their job. I believe they are trying their best.

OMG Borgessa… Ikr?! Right from the beginning I really felt bad for the team. They sure have their hands full with the bunch o us! haha.. But I have to believe they knew what they were getting into, especially when one of them, I think it was Gary that said.. the players were a very 'passionate' group of ppl! I LOVE what they have done for our game and keeping it open. Its a whole new future we get to continue to enjoy and for that, I am very grateful. :D

Once they get through with us, they will have very thick skin. Kapiowng, no words can penetrate the thickness.

I didn't read your thread but I wouldn't feel bad. They need for us to report what works and what doesn't. Nothing wrong with that. My problem is when people start bashing them when something quits working. I have no clue about coding and all that computer stuff, but I know that it can't be easy and I feel they ARE doing their best and they DO try to fix stuff, unlike Z............if something broke, they didn't give a rats patootie unless it was taking money from them.

LOL! I appraise them for owning this game, it is really I large weight on their shoulders. I'm surprised they are handling it so well!

Shows that Zynga left a mess I think. I mean BVG ain't hacks, they just got to deal with what the been left with. And we all know Zynga didn't give a rats behind. So if the coding is scrambled, and BVG got to figure out, how the heck they put it all together.. It must be soooooooo frustrating. I know when i work on something and it doesn't work, over and over again, I get frustrated, and I don't have all these spectators and comments along the way lol.

I don't think Z tested the integrity of their code, and they sure didn't fix it if they knew it needed it. Compiling issues are complex, even a period in the wrong place can throw things out of wack and take hours or even days to find, depending on the size of the particular code.

I haven't been affected by any of the raised issues yet, lets hope it stays that way!

Yup and codes change too over the yrs - what worked once can then become obsolete. I've never programed anything, but i use to dabble in HTML and that changed rather quickly into a whole knew language. So I had to think what changed in programing codes etc.

I'm not either thankfully. But my friends are and that makes it hard for me to play if they can't play too. I wouldn't even be here if they hadn't of begged me :)

Most definitely Borgessa. I was a computer programming major in college and just graduated and already it has changed a lot. Keeping up with the most recent changes (and those about to come out in 2015) is a full time job! :D

I have no doubts the source code is a spaghetti mesh at most, considering its been down to 3rd world countries. Indeed frustrating dealing with such challenges... but from them I expect quality development, thus good development policies and practices, that should allow them to avoid pushing untested products to production.
