Today, i was amazed by the amount of people asking for ads to help financially support the game. But I don't think this is needed, well yes, it could be, but here's my idea, I find that many people like it.

Have any of you noticed, that bag of pet food on display at Pete's Pets store? Its Iams branded. Iams is a real brand for dog food.

Why not advertise this way instead? Display name brand items around the game in different places. There are many ways of doing this!

The list below contains the store or area, and what can be displayed each one.

-Gifts and Flowers: ProFlowers
-Coffee Shop: Starbucks coffee, Dunkin Donuts,
-Hair Salon: Avon Cosmetics, Kryolan Makeup, Mac Makeup.
-Clothing Store: Name brand clothes on display.
-Car Store: Toyota, Chevrolet, Hyundai, Ford
-YoDepot: Miracle Gro, Behr Paint,

Feel free to add more suggestions and ideas.

Now for the icons, that billboard on the map has no use, why not take away that clothing, star, and exclamation point icons from the screen and throw them up there? The billboard can update every time there is something new in the game. The news can change every time we look at the map to show something different.

good idea!

maybe adding logo'ed clothes and furniture items to yoworld for purchase could bring in double the money.... 1st from advertising and 2nd from players.

Hmm maybe yes but it can only keep players to play the game, it's still no help letting new players to play the game. Maybe BVG can post them on Facebook, I mean the ads column on Facebook.

I like the updating Billboards idea. That would be a good way of advertising also (if we need to go down that route).

Absolutely. I like drinking Slurpee very much. If this happened, I could help supporting the gane too!! I think more sponsors for Yoworld would be great!

Just on one of your examples...

Why would Starbucks pay BVG to put their name in a game that reaches 50k total people?

These advertisers, for this idea to work, would have to be willing to shell out money to BVG to advertise their product. Meanwhile, in every example you listed, their product is bigger than BVG.

Not too mention the fact this is a global game with people in like Egypt, do they even have Starbucks there? So you're limiting your audience further to people who can actually use the product to less than 50k viewers.

I have been saying this for years

for that to happen they need to move beyond gaming and let the agency's know they are open to placement -- remember too that we arent even a Million back yet --- once we are back up and running their could be some real money in placement items

Time will tell, but I agree -- I have NO issue at all with product placements

Do you think the Iams bags in the pet store are there for charity? Do you think it's a fluke that Greg redecorated the pet store first? The answer to both of these questions is a big "no."

Anthony is just expanding on an idea that they've obviously already had and suggesting potential advertisers. That is all.

Oh...and also I'm pretty sure we are way over 50K total people. I think we are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over that now. :D

The question should be "Why wouldn't they want to put their name in a virtual game?".

There is no such thing as too much advertising.... and Starbucks knows this. That is why they are in every country, even Egypt

Since its a global market.. I could see something like KFC, Macca's, Coke and Pepsi working. But not for more localized products.

Good idea! This makes it even more like a simulation game - but just wondering, will brand names make the virtual items more expensive since they're "brand names"? lol
