Have any of you noticed, that bag of pet food on display at Pete's Pets store? Its Iams branded. Iams is a real brand for dog food.
Why not advertise this way instead? Display name brand items around the game in different places. There are many ways of doing this!
The list below contains the store or area, and what can be displayed each one.
-Gifts and Flowers: ProFlowers
-Coffee Shop: Starbucks coffee, Dunkin Donuts,
-Hair Salon: Avon Cosmetics, Kryolan Makeup, Mac Makeup.
-Clothing Store: Name brand clothes on display.
Feel free to add more suggestions and ideas.
Now for the icons, that billboard on the map has no use, why not take away that clothing, star, and exclamation point icons from the screen and throw them up there? The billboard can update every time there is something new in the game. The news can change every time we look at the map to show something different.

Why would Starbucks pay BVG to put their name in a game that reaches 50k total people?
These advertisers, for this idea to work, would have to be willing to shell out money to BVG to advertise their product. Meanwhile, in every example you listed, their product is bigger than BVG.
Not too mention the fact this is a global game with people in like Egypt, do they even have Starbucks there? So you're limiting your audience further to people who can actually use the product to less than 50k viewers.

Do you think the Iams bags in the pet store are there for charity? Do you think it's a fluke that Greg redecorated the pet store first? The answer to both of these questions is a big "no."
Anthony is just expanding on an idea that they've obviously already had and suggesting potential advertisers. That is all.
Oh...and also I'm pretty sure we are way over 50K total people. I think we are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over that now.
