If you were a new player today what would you think of YoWorld?
As I noticed that a lot that post here on the forums have been playing for a while there aren't many who's start date is 2016 and above ...
so just asking what you would think of this game if you were new and hadn't ever played a game like this before

If I was a new player and I'd just started playing Yo
I'd like the new editor and being able to sort items by price and YC or coin. The sheer amount of furniture items is overwhelming now

I'd enjoy the Gem Quest and the Storyline for the prizes and meeting new people even though the Storyline is a little confusing .
I did eventually work out its meant to be played at the same time as Gems

I'd like The Daily login on dot.com with its green cash prizes ..nothing better than seeing that cash amount go up for free even if it is only one or two.
I'd enjoy the dusty suitcases we get from visiting buddies, opening them and getting things like bathtubs for free.
I'd probably be a bit confused by the camera icon and wonder why nothing happens when I click it.
and I'd have to learn some new words and abbreviations .. maxing, covers, room scores and AH and YC

I think we need more to do -

people log in thinking there will be things to do; something more then tic tac toe Right

so - I think we need to up the rewards on the speedway and the fishing

both would be of some fun - in fact I might even try to complete the badge but ugh the returns are so low and a few races I wander off to something more fun

Last time anyone EVER talks about going to fishing -- that they caught a whopper w/ a huge return in coins and prizes

We have two areas in game - both needing some enrichments

the Casino needs to be more transparent - I think some new players might become discourage and quit over the lack of transparency

--- and I think all the coins from chests etc need YUPPED, its not fair that someone that has nothing gets less in daily chests because they have a lower playing level

------- I wish for not only old friends to return but I hope for new players of all ages

that bvg would state this is a multigenerational game because it always has been. -- except for the early years when it was 18 and above app ..... the idea that this was designed to be a kids game is false - this was an app promoted to those over 18.

I was a new player in Feb 09

I pulled out the Credit Card....and started buying 09 VDay bears which were a smoking hot item

I was RICH in Yoville in less than a week....and I think it cost me around $2k

Its even easier for a new player now....the Yocash rate is 150K:1 .....so for $99 you could easily have 130M if you sold 130k:1

Spend 2K in todays yoeconomy you have 2.6B coins

I agree. I actually started a new account a couple months ago just to see how hard it is for a real new player. I did decorate one room for her but that was it. After a few weeks I quit. It is way to hard for someone to be able to do much of anything in the game for a new player. I sat in on an auction but because I couldn't trade there was no sense in it. I do know about using the AH if you can't trade but that is a pain in the butt LOL Couldn't even do the Gem events because I didn't have enough money to buy what was needed to complete it.

In a game like this I think the majority of people will not put money into the game tell they get a feel for it. Seeing how hard it is for someone new. I doubt many new people stick it out for very long before they move on.

If I were new, I probably wouldn’t play past a week. Honestly, one of the biggest cons of being a new player is the Trade restriction until level 50. That along with lack of advertisement and the inflation are key factors in why I think the game doesn’t get many new players. Even for a 15+ year-old game I still feel if some changes were made that YoWorld could still survive past 2026 and on. It’s not too late to change.
Things should be easier to obtain. New players aren’t going to want to drop $100 on a new game they just started.

I gave up this game for quite a while and I started playing other games and the $$$ spending was worse I would pay 300 to $400 for one cosmetic skin whereas with YoWorld $100 gets me several items depending on my wants at the time. While things can be costly. I still think you get more for your buck with YoWorld. Sorry I might be getting off topic lol.

If I were new player, I would find a different game. Nothing is affordable anymore, even for us. Newbs have no shot unless peeps are nice and gift them literally everything. No real way to make money either, unless you play the selling game, which again, you need items to do.

You can't trade until 50th lvl and so many days playing. Also you are talking about spending thousands in RL cash, most people can't do that for a game! Being a true newbie means being able to play the game as is with items available. There is no way to do that now, unless someone gifts you a lot or like you said you use RL money!

I started playing seriously around 2020. I stayed because you can make so many houses, and there were tons of coin items in the store which I had never used before to decorate with, and it's so easy to earn the coins by watching ads.
I ignored the cash items, until I started building up yocash from the free give-aways, and even now I'm every careful about how I spend it.
I'm not that interested in socializing, or dressing up, or getting rich. I think the gem events are fun challenges, but I don't care about winning or the prizes.
I think selling stuff in this game is too hard, so I don't bother. I wish they would just give us a simple shop where we could put things, price them, and wait for the to sell, without having to have events and such.
What bothers me is that all those coin items in the store aren't new to me any more. I've used them over and over again, and the site isn't making as many new ones as I would like.

Played a game called Everquest years ago. I was so happy when they added a bazaar. Basically you could sit your character there with a list of for sale stuff and leave it. I would do that overnight. Was the easiest AH type thing in any game I ever played. I miss that game and that bazaar LOL!

I played in '08 on MySpace I think when it was first out and had no idea what I was doing the first time and didn't come back. I joined on FB in early '09 and was hooked right away, despite the cost. I remember saving up however many few coins to buy a toilet in the Depot. There was that other platform I can't remember the name of, too. :haha: It took years to amass the stuff I have/had and I learned the ropes at some point. I socialized, I saved, I sold, I bought, etc. And I made some friends. What got me hooked in '09 was that you could decorate rooms. Of course I saw some rooms when the friend ladder was a room showcase and I went to events. I was like

I tried to recruit some RL friends (the one who got me to try this was the inspiration) back in '09 and they were not fans. They said it was a bland version of Sims and got bored quickly.

All of that being said, I would never try to suggest this game to people. It has changed so much since the beginning when it had the most players, and it's more expensive now than ever. And it's more complex and a PITA than it was initially. I've got one foot in and one foot out at this point. I can't begin to imagine starting fresh.

Probably realize the same thing I did in 2010, play within your means. Then it was only 2 years of items so everyone "rich" looked the same. Non attainable at starter level, coins only, so no worries. Now, I'd be so overwhelmed I'd probably quit. It's a lot to even see the database. I do know, had I known then what I know now, I would've quit or limited my time. MOST addictive game ever. Some things never change.

I'm struggling to keep playing this game, and I would not take up anything similar right now.

Amy Pond (117302962) wrote:if i was a new player i would balk at the amount of yc everything costs just to decorate a room and quit the same day

Exactly! As a new player, you don't even now anything yet about the free YC we can get through ads, daily logins and such. Coin rewards are smaller for chests, and I imagine they are for all other things, too. You are bombarded by events you might be tempted to participate in, but you can't trade for items, and keep up with the demands. It's awfully hard to navigate as a returning player, let alone someone who's here for the first time ever. o_o

I know the drill, don't play outside your means. But, if the game isn't fun within your means, you'll call quits very soon.

Interesting thoughts. We all see Yo through jaded lenses, no matter how hard we try to play "what if?"

But for me it's pretty easy to do. The trading game as it was when I started doesn't exist. That means interacting with good people doesn't happen like it did. I wouldn't care about decorating. I wouldn't care about clothes. So I wouldn't be here long enough to make a friend. That means the content, the pricing, and the game itself would all be meaningless within a day.

I'd be back to playing Halo, GTA, Unreal Tournament, and whatever other game I happened to trip over before the day was done.

I tried playing that other game that 's meant to be like Yo its seriously confusing. Full of really young ones like under 18's. No map, no Home icon its HARD.

BUT that game gives you a pile of starter stuff that's up to date with the game so say it was Yo, you would get shoes and a dress and a hair from 2020 onwards .
Which means you would blend in more if you are new. I know the starter clothes did change at one point they're no longer like the pink dress we get in gems and the apartment deco did too. I've no idea if the starter items have changed recently though .
I have a clock app account and a Tube one, I've seen a few younger people posting about Yo they say things like "oh that cute OLD game its not around any more "
they think it's gone, I see some comments on FB like that too saying things like "This game still exists?"
There isn't any advertising for it. Those of you who play Fish World are there adds saying "play Yo and get X thing"?

Most games when you first start are hard unless you do have lots of spare $$ to throw into them most games have a VIP programme now.
I just don't think there is the incentives that there could be with this game.
Look at all of you saying "naaa I wouldn't play for long"
Take me for instance, I could get VIP I can afford it but the VIP store just isn't updated enough ( hubby has VIP so I know whats in there)
All the good stuff is in Slots and Casino that I do not play, if those items were available for VIP's even a few weeks after release in slots I'd be VIP very FAST .. a discount on houses and the other discounts aren't enough for me.
A permanent discount on EVERYTHING in store for VIP yeah I'd be in that
