when I use the lunar new years gift box eja2025 with the new outfit tops
Red Modern Ao Dai Tunic Vn2025
Red Ao Dai Top Vn2025
the arms don't sit right, the box or the arm for the box only sits right if I've got short sleeves
please ignore the extra arms I forgot "good" screenshot with the tiny top from gems Red Lunar Chic Snake Top Eja2025
<---- Wearing a short sleeve top on my Avi now

Note: I tried other long sleeve tops and got the same thing happen so its not the new clothing its long sleeves . My Avi is wearing a short sleeve dress (ignore the extra arms)

I find that this "effect" happens whenever I have a piece of clothing that has arms or hands, whether they be part of the shirt/dress/handheld etc. Even my nail polish will be floating around my avatar when I wear it with certain items. It doesn't matter if it is pieces of clothing from the same set or a mix and match. I agree that wearing short sleeves solves the problem but that doesn't make the outfit look okay. Unfortunately I don't think that it's fixable unless BVG does something about it.

This has been making me nuts ever since they introduced the bent arm handhelds. They're very limiting as far as what we can wear with them. If I want to wear some of my foods or drinks or whatever else in colder weather outfits, I have to wear mid length sleeves (one example is the one I have on) if not short sleeves and even they hang kind of funny around the elbow.

I took the 'arms' off and it was the same , I tried it with other long sleeve tops still did it I wasn't wearing the arms
a short top is fine , a short sleeve top from EJA2025 even betterer
Image

Its the placement of the arm thats connected to the box and why they did that ? Mystery as it would have been fine if it was a floating item without the arm
Image
we have plenty of "arms" that could carry it the New Years arms that I had on would have been fine if the box didn't have its own arm

yes they should float , no arm attached and then it should be up to US what arms we wear with the handheld

one thing I didn't do is try the new shirts with the NY arms I had on ..shouldn't have to mess about like that tho each item should work with others if they've used the same template and measurements

If that box 'floated' at that position, it still wouldn't be compatible with the Bliss NY arms

She designed them specifically to go with her clock bag

What you wear with an arm is determined by the length of it

So with that one, you just wear a mid or short sleeved top.....simples

There are many gift type boxes available that don't have arms attached and can be equipped with long sleeves

I don't see this as a problem at all

You usually have to wear something with short sleeves or no sleeves with those types of HH :)

I agree that we shouldn't have to, but I don't think BVG can fix or have any interest in fixing this.

You need to adapt because not every piece of clothing will be compatible with every single handheld device. There are many designers, each with their own unique approach to design.

What am I missing :dizzy: ?

BVG designed 3 HH's with the arm attached to the HH's and they are all in different positions, so clothing items will have to be adapted to work with the arm positions for those 3 HH's!

Only these 2 have been released so far and are in Tier 4! viewtopic.php?f=2&t=251757

Here's my "theory" (aka "wild guess") with the should-be-obvious disclaimer that I am not a designer and have no technical knowledge of how our avis are programmed, this is just how I have always thought of it:

Our YoBodies don't bend. They are more like a picture of a YoBody, that then gets covered by a layer of a picture of clothes (like layering in Photoshop or playing with paper dolls), except that the body layer appears to be segmented so different parts can be swapped out, like that Fashion Plates game from way back when. To make an arm appear bent, the bent arm piece with its item replaces the straight arm piece. HOWEVER, the layer above it, with the clothes made for the original arm, still looks the same.

(I'd love to know how it REALLY works – kind of hoping this horrible misinformation will bait someone knowledgeable out to explain it. :haha: :D )
