Just curious, has anyone reached a 5.8 score yet?

Mine was 5.2. I wasn't surprised as mine was pretty basic, since I had filled the top bar 2 challenges ago, it really made no impact of any meaning to me & I wasn't buying more than I had to.. I kept wondering how this would play out. Half of me thought we'd see a lot because there was minimal creativity allowed and half of me thought we might not see any or very few, because there was minimal creativity allowed. I was rooting for the first scenario, looks like the 2nd is playing out. That's a shame, this was a costly challenge.

Because lots of players didn't participate, the few that did participate are competing against one another. Gone are the '100 gemmer' entries that would make an average one shine brighter. To get a 5.8 is probably much harder in these Super Challenges.

If 300 players participated that means there are only 150 sets of 2 to vote for. One player has the score increased and the other has it decreased.

Let's say 2 outfits are competing and one already has 5.8 and the other has 4.5. (I don't see what they scored until after I vote, but assuming this was the score before I vote) I vote for the one that happens to already have 5.8, what happens is.. The 5.8 stays the same, nothing gained because it is already at max. The other one, loses part of it's score, now it doesn't even have 4.5.

Fewer entries has it's advantages and disadvantages.

Good Luck, hope someone gets it.

Oh man....this is not good. I have scrolled through another thread regarding scores in general & neither on that post, nor on this one is a 5.8 score.... In fact, most scores are pretty low for some really good entries. BVG....what made you think this would be a good idea...

Its why the "anniversary special" doesnt work
I think people would've preferred to be able to be more creative and less restricted with the normal prizes rather than a choice between 2 types of each item, would make it near impossible for 5.8 and if there were it could be from luck too

I was hoping that there would be more 5.8 scores this time due to the expense of the required items so I was disappointed to see no 5.8ers when I checked out Cosmos' thread

That is what I peeked back in to check. No one that I know, knows anyone that got the 5.8. For all the yocash peeps spent to enter, that is shady AF! I do hope someone confirms some wins. I am glad I decided to sit this GE out.

I've been asking my game buds. I've been scouring the FB groups. I have yet to speak with single Yo or see a single image of anyone that got a 5.8. This was a pathetic change. I'm sorry to everyone who blew yocash on BVG's experiment. I hope whatever you got out of the process was worth it.

I have picked up on the chatter from the mob that more than a few of them specifically tried to down vote the quality entries out of spite for the change to the gem challenge. Since they weren't going to be involved, they wanted to ruin it for those who were.

That’s what I suspected would happen and based on the scores it is plausible. The sad part is the only winner here is BVG. Players bought items to enter, yet BVG likely only paid out on a few, if any, big prizes. They really taught BVG a lesson by punishing the players (please note sarcasm).

Sounds about right, jealousy can be a nasty thing
the really silly thing is that clothing items can be shared around they're not locked in like furniture items are, that YC hair or HH could have been worn by 15 different players if they'd shared at an event .
course then they'd have to trust each other and mobs like that yeah na can't be done

The down voting thing is not a new move -- they do that as a regular part of their feel good and to help promote their fellow players....oddly this made it almost impossible for them to sort out theirs from everyone else's? LOL that was worth the cost to entry, in my case is was a 325k male he bun that I resold after lending it out a few times :) for just what I had in it.

I disagree that clothes should be locked/unwearable for 2+ days. As a pageant player I'd be furious that I couldn't access items needed at any given moment.

This whole "SUPER Gem Event" was destined to fail in terms of overall player satisfaction because the requirements were both hyper-specific and expensive to buy. They dangled a fat 300YC prize for anyone who could hit an all but impossible 5.8. So yeah, many players traded the needed items to be able to play. I'm not at all mad at it and here's why...

Let's break it down -

Online freemium games like YoWorld live and die by the 80/20 rule, aka the Pareto Principle, which states that 80% of your results come from 20% of your efforts.

For the purpose of this conversation, this means that 80% of sales are made by 20% of players. So BVG is catering to those "whales" and they rest of us are left to complain and/or leave the game if we don't like it.

Why do you think everything looks the same? BVG's Marketing Dept. has distilled the sales data which informs the Design Dept.'s creations which are then purchased by the very players that contributed to that data. Lather, rinse, repeat. It's an ouroboros of mediocrity.

Sure BVG tries to create FOMO by placing interesting, unique or "exclusive" items in pay-to-play events, e.g. The Casino, LTO cash deals, loot crates, the Gem Event, etc., to drives sales and tempt players who aren't whales to cough up the cash.

It is what it is, of course BVG has to make money to stay in business and keep our beloved YoWorld alive.

But here's the thing...

It feels like BVG often forgets that without that 80% of us, the remaining 20% would leave the game. The current player base is exceedingly small compared to the heyday of YV and early YW and this is a social game after all.

So, to paraphrase the great Malcolm Reynolds from the tv show Firefly -

"If BVG tries to game you, you try to game 'em right back!"

You've been playing since '09 and you really can't believe that some people are jerks? :haha: :haha: :haha:

What version of YW are you playing where all players are on their best behavior and play fairly and treat everyone equally?
