Hey YoFans!

We're thrilled to announce a new initiative that's all about bringing your voice directly into the heart of YoWorld's future: The YoWorld City Council!

We believe that the best way to make YoWorld even more amazing is to build it with you, our incredible players. The YoWorld City Council is a dedicated group of 10 community-voted players who will serve as a vital link between you and our team. Their purpose? To represent the broader YoWorld community and provide invaluable feedback on upcoming changes and updates to the game.

This is a big step toward building YoWorld with you– strengthening our connection with the community and making sure your voice helps shape the future of the game! Involving the YoWorld City Council in the development stages allows us to hear your thoughts and ideas early on, so we can grow and collaboratively build YoWorld together in the ways that matter most to you.

What does this mean for you?

Your Voice, Amplified: The YoWorld City Council will act as your representatives, making sure your ideas and concerns are heard directly by the team shaping YoWorld's future.

A More Engaging YoWorld: By incorporating community feedback, we aim to make new features and changes resonate even more with all of you.

Community-Driven Evolution: This initiative is a vital step towards a truly community-driven YoWorld, where you have a direct hand in the game's growth and success.

What's next? The Community Volunteer Period kicks off NOW (click HERE to volunteer!) with votes opening up on June 9, 2025!

We are incredibly excited about kicking off the YoWorld City Council and working even more closely with all of you. Together, we'll ensure YoWorld continues to be the vibrant and enduring game we all love.

I think this is a great idea! I've volunteered for the council and hope I can get in. I'm in California and we need some west-coast people representing us. I love this game and am very hopeful that this will make the game better.

Same in would like to join gives me something to do and plus yoworld need a clean up so thinking game should hold player map design contest. Designing new building for yoworld and revamp it. New factory and towers and house and beach and other places. Also game needs to focus on giving male players and female players same amount of items and clothing not fair other gender gets almost most of stuff.

I'm not going to be a wet blanket on this. I'm simply reciting history........

In 2009 Zynga formed a player council that summer. I knew some of those people. None of them play Yo now. There were 10 little Indians jumping on that bed. It took 3 months for them all to fall off and bonk their head.....Squabbling, lack of direction, abuse, frustration, bad communication, poor leadership, Zynga's inability to provide structure........I could go on AND on. It was ugly. Failure at the highest levels and all the way down through the line.

In 2015 BVG also started one. Smaller. Supposedly with the same or similar objective. Make Yo better. This group also floundered quickly. Poor decisions, bad interactions, hurt feelings, infighting, back stabbing, name calling......it was high school and it crumbled in about the same amount of time.

I'm not saying it's a bad idea. I'm saying it's a DIFFICULT idea. The players volunteering will not be politicians. They aren't versed in working together for the common good. And they will most certainly wear the gears off each other if they aren't properly directed and coached. Whoever takes this on at BVG in this iteration, better have a plan, be a consummate facilitator, know psychology, be adept at guiding the effort, and absolutely know how to handle conflict. Because there will be head butting and hurt feelings very quickly if not.

I wish you well. I think players have great ideas. They understand the pain points in Yo. They will be invaluable if they can survive each other. May the odds ever be in your favor......

Man, I wish I wasn't such an introvert because I have first-hand experience as a kind of newer player here. I have some words about the new user experience. I don't think anyone would vote for me though lol.

You are just the player I would vote for -- I hope you consider it (it is not for me, I dont want to be part of a test group -- I dont play enough games to be techy enough to be able to explain glitches and issues in a way that they would understand)

Oh this is gonna be such a :silly: mess. First of all, I don't wish to have anyone 'speak' :quiet: for me. I can speak for myself. Just ask me. I've had nice interactions (on rare occasions) with some Vikings, and while pleasant, it solved not one single one of the problems I approached them with.
But, it's always convenient to be able to shift blame till it is lost and forgotten.

I hope EVERY YO recognizes that we need 'Community minded people' in this group, and not members of special interest groups wanting to steer the game towards their particular playing style.
This game is in the shape it is today because of exactly this blowing up in everybody's faces.....one group of influencers convinced the Vikings in 2014/2015 to change the way this game is played.............they listened, thinking this small special interest group represented the whole community, and let them propose changes to benefit their own way of playing and changed our game sending it on the downward spiral leading us to where we are today.

In a complex social decorating game like this it's important for anyone on this committee to be COMMUNITY MINDED and think about what is best for the game, or we will find ourselves still wallowing in the mess that has been made out of this game.

Please, every yo, think long and hard. And you community minded selfless ones, who want fun for all, please consider stepping up and make a difference. I'd love nothing better than to turn this death spiral we're on around, and return Yo to the amazing game it once was before those Big Changes rolled our in 2015 that brought us here.

Someone please, save Yo!!
This game was a good friend to all, a friend we all miss every day.

OH --- I would assume my endless cash donations to this game would allow me access to provide feedback ...... the idea that I would have to submit my ideas and suggestions to another player to be forwarded for consideration is insulting.

The first question is asking about Facebook group memberships? why? - why would you need to know what groups im part of and how would that information factor in. Same with the other questions - if this is a community vote - all those questions you asked ? they seem meaningless

So, we already know this has failed in the past. It is acting as a gatekeeper. they are wanting testers but asked nothing about game testing knowledge. And it will be a community vote and all the on going issues with bots and alt accounts taking part in voting

So why are we taking time from staff that is already over worked, when you take a group and start making some of the group more special then the others - you create space for resentment and frustrations that just arent needed. Unhappy people quit .... everyone that doesnt make the vote will be at least for some time be unhappy, right? those that supported them, also will be unhappy - you have lost 100's of thousands of players and yet you keep doing the same things again and again; expecting different outcomes - that is insanity, it is insane to think that you can keep dividing us down and breaking us apart - and expect that no one's very human feelings will not be bruised.

me, no im in till the bitter end now ... unless they get sick of me and just ban me - which can happen No doubt

but we have lost 100's of thousands of players since BVG has taken the reins - we have a very vocal group of players that already push this game in directions that appear to make others unhappy.

I would guess a large number of those that have left did so however not because of the game or the players -- they no longer have a home pc. I have a pc because of a hobby that requires it. - But if I wasnt creating embroidery patterns for my machine I wouldnt have one - would manage w/ a tablet for bill paying and cards (love bridge, i know very odd lol)

So if the platform rework would allow tablets - and other mobile devices to connect ---- omg, I think we might be stunned at the number of players that would return.

And it really has not a lot to do with the themes or really much else --- I think that a lot of players no longer have home pc's

I'm not sure that this idea will work any better this time than the couple of times they tried before. There will be those that get selected who have their own agendas in mind rather than what might benefit the collective. I wish all of those applying well. To BVG, what makes you think you will listen any better to this group than to all the others who have made suggestions or complaints in the past?

All good points.. but... :?: Isnt this what the Forums 'FEEDBACK THREAD' was created for in the first place? Or is this a shuffle off to volunteers to do the job... :eh:
Either way... will folks be listened to? Will ideas be introduced and used?
When I read the OP, the first person I thought of was LISATM cuz for a long time player she takes the time always to post issues in detail without insulting. She has taken the time to type out long posts over issues detailing each and every issue. I always liked that of her and admired her love of the game to actually take the time like she does to post. IF she was interested in such a task to become a council member I would definitely Nominate LisaTM  :D

I like the idea of LisaTM being a part of this, if she's interested. I'm also wondering if we could pick the council with votes.
