I am confused on how we were to put an outfit together from the description we are given for the challenge but yet we were to use 3 item from the HF2025 theme.
Description was: For your dinner date, choose an official radiating Honeymoon forest allure. Imagine sleek silhouettes in dark greens or earthy tones, subtly sparkling. An enchanting, romantic look for your special evening.
There is NOTHING in the Honeymoon Forest (HF2025) that fits anything described above and there isn't much to choose from...
Hmmmm and when voting I saw a majority of the outfits looking the same just different colours because this is what they need to meet the criteria.

Just wondering... and not wanting to offend anyone but these are some of what I was seeing in the voting pool... yes it is HF2025 but NOTHING as described for the challenge.

that is a very good question

I hope the car trick worked out for those that opted to add a car or plane ..... :) I fear voting is more and more becoming a 'group' activity where they are looking for agreed to use items and only voting for those players -- I have been noticing this for a while now - it was very clear the last two clothing gem challenges ..... I dont know - just seems like fewer players might make these patterns easier to see??

It really does not seem to matter what anyone wears or designs. People pick what they like to vote for.

One of the many reasons for my breaks from these. The descriptions are insane and usually never match the actual theme you have to use. Then the voting is always luck based. I have seem some perfectly follow the description, have full bonus and not even get the 4.5. I have seen some just throw random crap on (or in a room) and get the 5.8. Voting needs fixed. I entered one room last time for fun and I saw the same bugs in voting I did before. Rooms once skipped or voted or downvoted should NEVER show up again. That does not help. Then the rest is voter preference or all right and all left to quick vote people. Or those few that downvote nice entries just because they literally have nothing else to do? Best bet so you don't crazy is just have fun and enter something you like. You might get lucky and even if you don't, you will at least like the entry.

Agree with so much in the above comments. I usually skip fashion entries with cars or planes or a multitude of yobers and I skip rooms cluttered with NPCs. Entries that are skipped should not show up again. If I didn't like it the first time around, I certainly am not going to like it any better when it shows up on repeat.

I generally see the same 4-5 entries multiple times while voting & skipping does not ever remove them for me.

Soooo I guess skip the description and just buy whatever the item requirements are... in this case HF2025 items and that's what will get you your high score :eh: how boring ... just buy the theme they are saying and all of our outfits and rooms can all look the same... but we will have gems. Oh boy... :eh:

Basically just layer 3-4 theme hairs to get the bonus and use whatever else to make your outfit.

Here's mine. I got 5.6 :grr

DarDar-When I do the dress up ones, I do what Demona said. I usually get 4 of the male hairs as they are shorter and then just layer a hair I like over it and then dress up however I want. I try and follow a lil bit what the description says, but I don't over worry it. I use other clothing items though, so hopefully mine sticks out and does not look like the sea of sameness others enter with. GL and I do hope you get better scores, if that is what has you down. It is never fun to enter a contest and not even get the bonus gems. The 5.8s are rare, but I think everyone that has max bonus should at least get the bonus gems.

The room ones, I hide a bunch of floor tiles and make whatever my heart feels like at that moment LOL! I love decorating and I hate my room looking like every other entry. With that said, I also rarely get a 5.8 when I do play :haha:

Julie- you got robbed. That was perfectly following the description posted above. SMH! I really hate the voting system.

Thanks Skylar and I do agree with you   it's not my scores that have me down it's all the most amazing ones that are usually posted in Cosmos' threads that deserve so much more especially when following the description and for the ones that get high scores for having no imagination and buying just what is in the required theme... in this case HF2025 and doesn't even come close to the description they asked for.
I just think the scoring process needs improvements that's all. I am always blown away by the amazing creations that are done by people here in the forum that don't get what they should.

All this aside I love dressing up and creating rooms and find enjoyment in it despite the scores :)

The description—radiating Honeymoon Forest allure—immediately made me think of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, but most of the entries didn’t really match that .
The hats didn’t match the outfits available. Tho I did think the male outfit worked a bit better thanks to the flowing coat.
When I vote, I usually skip entries where someone just throws on the full "pack" without any creativity its bland and lacks imagination.
That said, I do sometimes buy the packs myself because, well... they’re cute and I can’t resist!
but I cover up pieces so outfit looks different and stands out

Most of the time, I just grab three hairs (or a hat) from AH for cheap to get the bonus. The formula seems to be: 4 hairs, or 3 hairs and a hat, or 3 and a handheld, or 2 and 2 handhelds. Coin items don’t really add much to the bonus.

Not that I'm feeling it anyway as I'm not into golf so this time I just threw stuff at my entry and submitted it and got a 4.8 :haha:

you can tell I thre , no make up and the lace is meant to be under the dress not over it :haha:

The real problem is that BVG now relies on Player Designers almost exclusively for theme wearables. When BVG decides on a theme, they dig through the pile of submissions and pull whatever matches best. Perhaps they let the PD's know ahead of time what themes are coming up, I really don't know. Point is, they get what they get.

Inevitably, the PD's design vision vastly differs from BVG's vison and so, very often, we don't get enough themed items to match the Gem Outfit requirements.

I'm all for PD's contributing to the game as a highlight, but not as a replacement for BVG doing their job.

there is often some heads up -- but not always and not with any pattern recently .... ;) if that helps ? -- I feel im luck enough typically to have purchased enough but when I dont, I just do my best and keep my fingers crossed.

Meh. They cut the new content in gems too much for me. The brief descriptions were awful, and they've gone downhill. The mob has never voted fairly. I can't believe how much people still care about these at all...given all the garbage we have to fight through to get the trinkets. Between the spending to max up the bonus, the time to stay on top of it all, the pathetic prizes, the fickle voters, and the terrible briefs.

Can you tell it's just not for me anymore? I enter outfits to get the free slots. That's it. :phew:

I thought, especially from the gem event description, the challenge outfits should kinda, maybe, semi, sorta reflect what they chose for the Honeymoon Forest NPCs.

But even Cosmo got a 5.1 in the challenge. What's up with that?

Exactly Zoe... thoses ares much closer to what they described...
Description was: For your dinner date, choose an official radiating Honeymoon forest allure. Imagine sleek silhouettes in dark greens or earthy tones, subtly sparkling. An enchanting, romantic look for your special evening.

but yet look how perfectly matched Julie's outfit was has a forest allure and is earth tones and subtly sparkly and is an enchanting evening romantic look
but she only got a 4.9 sooo shocking!!
As for Jade's outfit although beautifully done it to me is not at all as described no rich earth tones or enchanting... I am not putting down Jade's look in anyway just saying it truly is a HF2025 outfit and she got a PERFECT 5.8 score.
She deserves the perfect score because it's pretty and looks like a honeymoon date night outfit but it's not not anything like what the contest description suggested other than sparkle.

JADE Sorry I am just trying to make a point your outfit is Beautiful and I am not saying it doesn't deserve a perfect score it's just that the whole scoring system for these contests are out of wack.

There must be a better way... come on all you smart Yo peeps you must have some suggestions for BVG to make it better so that all the time, effort and RL money that goes into these contests are rewarded properly.

I agree with your point, Jade looks amazing, it also does not follow description. Jade is doing what I suggested earlier. Just use what you like and hope you get lucky. We shouldn't have to, but we have been playing long enough that we get scoring is a crap shoot. We have for years given suggestions to the vikings about how to make voting more fair. Thy have ignored it all. :( Julie really did make an amazing entry that followed description, that score was way too low. None of it is fair. That is why like Rod I have been meh about it all. That and the fact we still have crappy themes is why I am still on break. I just peek back to check because I am an optimistic idiot :haha:

The trick to remember when reading the briefs is to guess which word the mob will key on. Not phrase. Not implications. The actual word. There's usually one word that they grab. And it's usually in the first 10 to 15 words...because people are lazy readers...ain't nobody got time for all them words....

But you are correct. The briefs are ridiculous without even trying. They ask for the ethereal, the vacuous, and the obtuse. Deciphering them is the actual challenge. I've made plenty of funny ones up because I enjoy it, so I'll continue that tradition...

1. You find yourself on a carousel holding a flyswatter. Create an outfit that tells the chef you'd like to have a baby but that you also feel the need to evacuate your bowels.

2. The sky is calling your name while you peel onions. Design a look that your dentist would be ashamed of and that feels like the same color as the number 5.

3. Don't you dare pick your nose at the camel auction. Your outfit must show your desire to bathe in Jello while also reflecting your joy of sterile pepper grinders.

4. Daisies are the reason that concrete mixes have gotten too thin. Find a banana look that tells your parents just how far you'd go to extract gold from the minerals in your underpants.

:dizzy: :haha:  :silly: ;)
