My message box in the game is open to everyone b/c I have my Dumpster Diving events and I also like making friends this way. However there are a few people that enjoy leaving me bible verses. I have asked one person twice to stop, her response was that she does randoms and won't remember that I asked her not to leave bible verses. I can see from her message box that she does this a lot and others have also asked her not to. The first time I asked I also sent her a nice gift, a lovely cross.

She's not a buddy and not someone I have seen in the game while playing, is there a way I can block her? I don't want to have my messages set to buddies only just to avoid a few people.

I was able to use the report function and block that way. I didn't really want to report, but it seemed the only way and I do suppose it was considered spam since she leaves me a bible verse every 2 days or so.

Sorry but the person who message you with the verses is not breaking the rules and really not classed as spam so BVG will not do anything about it until they really start breaking the rules. The Block feature is there for a reason in this game and if you ask perosn to stop and do it again block!. But reporting can lead to accounts being temp banned and so much reporting gose on in this game for anything!

How do I block someone if I do not see them live in the game?

I do believe it's spam if they leave multiple messages, especially when asked to stop.

Once you clicked report and blocked they will no longer can message you but cant really block someone live from game without meeting them in person!. But sending unwanted messages every couple days not really classed as spam. Spamming is making sure your message box is full of the same message repeatedly!

At least your getting bible versus . I get requests for hair.

If it is against the rules to post political stuff, it should be against the rules to post religious stuff. And I am not open to argument about that.

I've been getting those as well! I just ignore them. Though one time, I think another visitor/reader of my message box messages saw the messages and they sent ME hair!

Really? Can't handle a few bible verses? I'm sure they were uplifting or decent. Wow people are so soft these days they have to report for a few bible verses! I get people begging for stuff, it would be nice to get verses instead..

I fully agree with you! I have told this person that our religious beliefs are very different and I do not want her to leave me bible verses, yet she still and also stated she visits random people and leaves bible verses.

I can respect different political and religious beliefs but dislike the random messages or unwanted conversations about both.

Spamming someone with bible verses, when asked not to is rude and disrespectful.

Sometimes, even though well meaning a bible verse can cause bad memories to come up for someone that has gone through religious trauma in their past.

I am OK with the religious events held in Yo as I can decide to attend or not.

I did not see an option to just block, only report and block. I have only seen this persons messages, not them while playing the game. If I had seen them while playing the game then I would have blocked. I was asking how can I block someone that I haven't seen in the game, just in my message box.

i don't care for it either, but usually it doesn't happen enough to bug me to the point of reporting, luckily.

the first time i noticed an offensive bible verse it actually was talking about the devil and going to hell... i though it was not random but directed at my avatar since i was at that time wearing a halloween costume that was a little dark in tone. i didn't know but it felt targeted. but that person wasn't a repeat offender so no biggie, just deleted it and didn't worry.

don't worry about reporting someone, a player here on the forums actually reported me in order for me to not be able to visit their home, because they had stolen my room idea without asking permission or giving me credit for the creative idea, and didn't want me to see that they did. yoworld is a small world. i haven't been contacted by bvg for the reporting, i'm not sure what she accused me of (spamming perhaps? everything else seems like a worse offense). players report others, and bvg seems to know a lot of it is petty garbage. i think your reason for reporting is applicable here, at least more applicable than what happened in my case.

Delete her from your buddy list. Problem solved. Same for anyone who ever leaves me a message I don't care for. I won't respond, because I don't want to hear from them again. A quiet delete is all it takes.

I wish people would do coin runs without leaving messages. That habit was driven by when we got coins for doing a coin run and then got extra coins for adding a message. Not needed. Get your coins and skeedaddle. If you need to leave a message, leave me a funny saying or joke. The naughtier the better.

It is a sign of disrespect and lack of caring to continue doing something that you know irritates another person. It is also, frequently a misguided attempt by someone who thinks they are "doing God's work " to influence someone into becoming a believer.

shes not on her buddy list , says she does randoms in which case she's not getting anything at all for leaving a message as we only get coins from buddies now and have for a long time .

Myself I just delete annoying ones like "CR" or ones that leave the exact same or similar message each time
annoying I know, altho I have messaged a couple and told them theres no need to use CR any more and they stopped

I agree with Adeline.
The same rules that apply for politics should apply for religion as well.
having said that I don't have an open inbox but would love to know how to manage that option.
I hope someone knows if that is even possible.

This is something I sent as a suggestion to BVG -- because in some countries there is only the Church and nothing else .... as such, if we are to be non political that should include the Church

But I dont want to see an end to the things that people gather around either -- I think faith is a personal thing, like your sexuality ..... it is a tough call - we cant tell others what to think and we want to respect everyones personal journey

I find that people tend to be respectful - they dont tend to spam me with anything (thank you) ......... glad she was able to block the person. I agree 'reporting' seems harsh - however if you asked kindly and the messages just kept coming at you ....the only choice i would have would be to block them. - cant think of a different way to do it either.

Then I'd probably just delete the message. No harm no foul. I never block anyone. If they want to be stupid, I can ignore them. But I'd never send a message back to anyone that wasn't a buddy. That's a free pass right back to your inbox.
