Hi YoFans,

We want to take a moment to thank the YoWorld Council for the time and energy they give to representing the community. The Council is an important channel for us—they gather suggestions, feedback, and concerns directly from players and bring them to the Vikings.
That said, it’s important to be clear about their role:
The Council does not have access to all of our internal plans or timelines.

They can’t share details about in-progress projects until we’re ready to communicate them officially.

Their main purpose is to make sure your voices are heard and your feedback reaches the team.
We know it can sometimes feel like things are quiet, but please understand that the Council is doing their part. When we’re ready to announce new features, updates, or initiatives, you’ll always hear it directly from us, the Vikings.
We’re grateful for the Council’s contributions and for all the players who continue to share their ideas and passion for YoWorld. Together, you help shape the game’s future

What was the councils response to the 1st, 2nd and this latest 3rd COL2025 collection event? Were they asked about it? where do they get their feedback? is it different than what is posted here in the forum?

I ask because the COL2025 collection has a lot of people very angry. The delivery method has been complained about since the 1st one. I would assume the council would have voiced an opinion or said something about it.

Would the themes and events and promos be council approved ? I am confused what role they play and what they do, only because the COL2025 collection has a lot of players very upset, and there have been 3 now of those, back to back to back.. what if anything did/does the council say about it?

Was their feedback different from the angry players here in the forum?

Ever wonder how many do not have access to a council member?
I have

Are you aware this is worded in a way that actually discourages people reaching out to you directly?

(lol do you know Im cursing at myself for feeling the need to point this out --- that I dont really enjoy this dance. That I would rather just fan girl over all the great stuff)

So the new suggestions tab and the help tab ? -- what are they for .....

I actually do not support the idea of a City Council or of having any players speak for me. I have over the years watched carefully and have to say it has appeared to me that those who "help out" or who in any way are supposed to represent us have become less vocal on the forum than they were before they took their positions. And I might add, their responses seem to be what I would expect from a Viking, not from a fellow player of this game. We are all quite able to express our opinions. We do not hold back because we are afraid our status or perks will be affected. We support this game financially. We can represent ourselves. And not to be trite, but we do put our money where our mouths are.

I had not thought if it in just that way ... but youre right, what would seem to me like a burden would seem like a status to others ......... it does in fact negate the positive effects of trying to get unbiased feedback before releasing things into the general population

Here is hoping we hear from our members that are to rep us --- I would like a list of members and their contact information ..... if that is how we are to provide feedback that will be addressed.

I don't support the idea of a city council either. I prefer to continue relaying my feedback directly to BVG w/out a go-between.

Where are the council gathering their feedback from? Are they reaching out to players? Or is it mainly their own feedback being shared with the Vikings? I've seen absolutely nothing from/about them since they took office until this announcement was posted. And actually I've forgotten who most of them are.

Agree with both of you.

It feels to me like it's just a way of the Vikings getting out of having to read our feedback and having any communication with us and transparency. And it seems if the feedback is being passed on to the Vikings that they are not doing much of anything with it, though the Vikings just tell us even though it's been quiet, they are doing this or that.

I was under the impression they gathered feedback from the forums and Discord and passed it on to the Vikings. Someone mentioned somewhere that the council members sometimes hold events to gather feedback to share with BVG. If that's the case, they have never been announced anywhere that I have seen. And I don't look at events other than the occasional Viking party, so just looking through events all the time to spot one of these isn't going to happen. Maybe they tell their friends they're having an event for this, but how would the rest of us know? I was iffy about this council from the moment it was announced, but tried to be cautiously optimistic about it. I have yet to see any changes to the game as a result of it.

And I mean no offense to the council members when I say this. I appreciate the efforts I assume they are making. I just feel like this system isn't conducive to really putting our feedback to use. BVG should have the staff for this purpose, and clearly they don't. So they are asking players to volunteer to do the work they should be doing. With all the money we've poured into the game over the years, they should be able to hire staff.

I was going to pm, but why not

I dont have a single member of the council as a fb friend and I have seen nothing - and not been asked anything by a single member of the council

my guess is the majority of us have not

:) LOL I have opinions that dont matter, then I would guess the gold badge and the money wasted doesnt matter either ------ taking part in the things, and player count - that doesnt matter to them any more either

it's about courting people that tell them what they want to hear ? from my lowly point (what I assume is a combo of fool idiot and moron from some points of view) it seems as if what I think and what I offer is of no interest .... I would guess the player count might support my point of view? - when you tell a person enough times that why they say doesnt matter, what they think doesnt matter -- at some point you stop mattering as well? isnt it human nature. I get bad service at a restaurant dont return. - people dont bother to tell you why anymore they just walk. So when you have people trying to explain to you why - and you only listen to those that cant tell you why? because they dont see it or it doesnt affect them ??? what can you expect. I would think from the ad stand point a lone they would be courting new and returning players

The bolded parts kinda seem like bs to me. I don’t spend a lot of time playing, but I check in 5-10 times throughout the day, and have never seen any kind of event, or seen anyone talking about the player council. Do they just scan through posts on the forum? If so, why does BVG continue to do things that players dislike? The cosmic collections are a perfect example, where in all the feedback did anybody say they wanted these items to be more exclusive? My guess is the marketing department saw players were buying/collecting the items, and decided to use them to suck more yc from the players. The game doesn’t seem to be losing players like it was, but the amount of players is still less and less when I check (253 the other night at 4:12am est, which is the lowest I’ve seen). I used to love buying “exclusive” items, but like everything, BVG has overdone it, and sucked the fun right out of it!

It’s actually really depressing, I lose in the casino, which would be okay if the few items I win weren’t the same bronze items over and over (it pisses me off to see all the items scrolling across the screen), the lose in the gem challenges, 13 in store items in a row after spending yocash to complete challenges, I never get exclusives when I attempt to buy from mystery boxes, I get the most common items when buying cash deals. I don’t know the exact amount I’ve spent on this game since 2015, but it’s way over $5,000, and I know BVG could care less if I walked away.

You all have mentioned things I failed to mention but that I do agree totally with. I have NEVER been asked my opinion about anything in this game - in person or at an event - by a member of the City Council or a Moderator. Perhaps they spend more time at Discord than here?

I spoke out against a city council right from the start. IMO it's only there to create the illusion that the player masses opinion matters.

Aeliana, I am sure you know that this game has always had some questionable aspects to it. I am sure everyone remembers those who may or may not still be here, who partied with some of the Vikings who may or may not still be here. I would never say that anyone profited by such behavior but I am sure they tried. And if you go back even further - actually I prefer not to.
